METHOD FOR DETECTING INTENT IN AN ADAPTIVE LOWER LIMB DEVICE
A method for detecting a user's intent in an adaptive lower limb device includes providing the adaptive lower limb device. The lower limb device includes a device control unit. The device control unit includes activity controllers and at least one accelerometer. The acceleration features are measured via the at least one accelerometer. The measured acceleration features are determined whether they correspond to a tapping movement initiated by a user with an intent to switch from a first one of the plurality of activity controllers to a second one of the plurality of activity controllers. If the measured accelerating features correspond to the tapping movement, the control unit of the adaptive lower limb device is switched from the first one of the activity controllers to the second one of the activity controllers.
CADENCE MEASUREMENT DEVICE AND CADENCE MEASUREMENT METHOD
A cadence measurement device includes a myoelectric potential sensor attachable to a leg portion of a living body, a waveform processor that performs waveform processing to obtain a myoelectric potential waveform from an output signal from the myoelectric potential sensor, and a cadence deriving unit that derives cadence according to the myoelectric potential waveform obtained by the waveform processing.
WEARABLE CHRONIC MONITORING SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of collecting environmental and/or biometric information and/or data using a chronic monitoring apparatus that includes a wearable expandable support structure to wirelessly receive power via a wireless power transfer antenna disposed in, on, or about the wearable expandable support structure. The chronic monitoring apparatus includes power receiver circuitry, data transmission circuitry, sensor circuitry, and control circuitry. The wearable expandable support structure maintains close contact between at least a portion of the sensor circuitry and the wearer of the chronic monitoring apparatus without requiring the use of adhesives or other bonding agents. The chronic monitoring apparatus communicates the collected environmental and/or biometric information to external data collection circuitry. The components included in the chronic monitoring apparatus are sealed within the wearable expandable support structure providing a rugged, reliable, resilient and waterproof system that is biocompatible, non-irritating and does not require the use of adhesives.
Flexible sheet for neuromuscular stimulation
A flexible sheet for neurostimulation has a flexible non-conductive substrate matrix in which electrodes are embedded along a lower surface. Electrically conductive wires extend from the electrodes through the flexible substrate to another exterior surface of the substrate. Methods of making the flexible sheet and making a device using the flexible sheet are also disclosed.
MYOELECTRIC SENSOR
A myoelectric sensor for detecting myoelectric signals which accompany body movement includes: a wearing band that is elastic, expandable, and circular, and that is worn around a limb to surround the limb tightly; myoelectric detection units a plurality of which are disposed in the circumferential direction on the wearing band with intervals therebetween so as to cause each of a plurality of myoelectric detection electrodes to be in close contact with the surface of the limb, and which detect myoelectric signals from corresponding positions on the limb using the myoelectric detection electrodes; and connection cables that electrically connect mutually adjacent myoelectric detection units and thereby transmit the myoelectric signals. The connection cables each include a bent portion, the bent shape of which changes in response to changes in the distance between the mutually adjacent myoelectric detection units.
LIGHT-EMITTING ELEMENT, DETECTION DEVICE, AND PROCESSING APPARATUS
According to one embodiment, a light-emitting element includes a substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, and a light-emitting layer. The substrate is light-transmissive. The second electrode is provided between the first electrode and a portion of the substrate. The second electrode is light-transmissive. A light-emitting layer is provided between the first electrode and the second electrode. The substrate includes a first region and a second region. The first region overlaps at least a portion of the light-emitting layer in a first direction, the first direction is from the second electrode toward the first electrode. The second region is provided around the first region along a plane perpendicular to the first direction. The substrate has an opening provided in at least a portion of the second region.
System and Method for Providing a Real-Time Signal Segmentation and Fiducial Points Alignment Framework
Provided is an electronic device to monitor a user's biological measurements, where a sensor is configured to acquire a first signal from a user, and a diagnostic processor is configured to pre-process the first signal to generate a second signal, segment the second signal to form signal segments, determine at least one event location for each of the signal segments, match adjacent signal segments for feature alignment, and provide a third signal using results of the feature alignment.
WEARABLE PULSE OXIMETER AND RESPIRATION MONITOR
A wireless patient monitoring device can be fully functional stand-alone patient monitoring device capable of various physiological measurements. The patient monitoring device is small and light enough to be comfortably worn on the patient, such as on the patient's wrist or around the neck. The patient monitoring device can have a monitor instrument removably engaging a disposable base. The base can have outlets for connecting to an acoustic respiration sensor and an oximeter sensor. The patient monitoring device can have pogo pin connectors connecting the monitor instrument and the disposable base so that the monitor instrument can receive sensor data from the sensors connected to the disposable base.
Smart Clothing with Converging/Diverging Bend or Stretch Sensors for Measuring Body Motion or Configuration
This invention is smart clothing with stretch and/or bend sensors for measuring changes in a person's body configuration. This smart clothing has an elastic nonconductive layer onto which helical converging/diverging conductive pathways are printed using ink which is a mixture of elastic nonconductive material and conductive material. Changes in the transmission of electromagnetic energy through the pathway are analyzed to measure changes in the configuration of the person's body.
