Implant with sensor assembly
An implant (in particular a stent) includes a main structure and a sensor assembly for measuring a body parameter. The sensor assembly includes at least one electrical conductor and at least one capacitor which are connected in such a way that the conductor and the capacitor form at least one electrical resonant circuit. The electrical conductor is surrounded by an electrical insulation. The electrical conductor is in the form of a coil having at least one turn. The capacitor is in contact at least on one side with the surrounding environment and its capacitance changes depending on the body parameter that is to be determined.
Actively controllable stent, stent graft, heart valve and method of controlling same
A prosthetic heart valve includes a frame, a valve, and an expansion element. The frame is movable between contracted and expanded configurations and includes first struts and second struts non-hingedly coupled together. The second struts are configured to pivot relative to the first struts as the frame moves between the contracted and expanded configurations. The valve is coupled to the frame and includes leaflets. The expansion element extends through a lumen of the first struts. The expansion element is slidable relative to the lumen of the first struts and is configured to move the frame incrementally from the contracted configuration and the expanded configuration and from the expanded configuration to the contracted configuration.
METHOD OF DETECTING PORTAL AND/OR HEPATIC PRESSURE AND A PORTAL HYPERTENSION MONITORING SYSTEM
The devices and methods generally relate to vibratable sensors for measuring ambient fluid pressure, in particular implantable sensors. The devices and methods are suited to implantation within the body to monitor physiological conditions, such as portal and/or hepatic venous blood pressure, and allow frequent, remote interrogation of venous pressure. The sensor devices are relatively small compared to conventional devices for measuring fluid pressure and can be implanted in the portohepatic venous system, whereas conventional devices are too large. The small size of the device is accomplished by using a thick sensor membrane, compared to conventional devices, and by limiting the size of additional elements of the device relative to the size of the sensor membrane. The thicker sensor member also obviates the need for multiple sensor arrays and maintains the accuracy and robustness of the sensor device. A data capture, processing, and display system provides a pressure measurement reading.
Implant device for in-body monitoring
A monitoring system includes an implantable intra-vascular support device for positioning against a vessel wall and an implantable sensor-actuator mounted to the support device. The sensor-actuator is drivable between a non-deployed position in which it is against the support device and a deployed position in which it is displaced away from the support device. Sensor signals are generated when in the deployed position. This system is able to monitor flow away from the edge of a vessel by deploying the sensor-actuator towards the center of the vessel. When flow monitoring does not need to take place, it can be non-deployed so that it does not present an occlusion to the flow.
STENT ANTENNA AND MEDICAL DATA COMMUNICATION APPARATUS
Disclosed herein is a stent antenna that is inserted into a body and used, including a main branch having a mesh shape, a plurality of branched branches which are branched off from the main branch and each have a mesh shape, and a feed line connected to the main branch to supply power to the stent antenna.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CELL CHARACTERISATION IN BIOLOGICAL TISSUE
A system that provides the ability to integrate both diagnostic tissue detection and therapeutic tissue treatment functionality in an implantable medical device (IMD), such as a graft or stent. The system comprises: an IMD having a pair of electrodes configured to contact biological tissue at an implant location; an impedance sensor configured to detect data indicative of a complex impedance of the biological tissue at the electrodes for a plurality of frequencies; and an analysis device configured to determine one or more cell types in the biological tissue using information indicative of variation in phase and magnitude of the complex impedance across the plurality of frequencies. The system may include a signal generator for applying a treatment signal to the same electrodes.
Integrated circuit medical devices and method
A universal implantable integrated circuit medical device platform having integral and monolithic circuit traces. The platform allows for implanting into a mammalian body single and multi-functional interface devices for sensing, monitoring stimulating and/or modulating physiological conditions within the body. Microelectronic circuitry may be integrated onto the platform or may be joined as modular components to the platform.
Wireless resonant circuit and variable inductance vascular monitoring implants and anchoring structures therefore
Wireless, variable inductance and resonant circuit-based vascular monitoring devices, systems, methodologies, and techniques, including specifically configured anchoring structures for same, are disclosed that can be used to assist healthcare professionals in predicting, preventing, and diagnosing various heart-related and other health conditions.
CARDIAC IMPLANT DEVICES WITH INTEGRATED PRESSURE SENSING
A sensor implant device includes a shunt structure comprising a flow path conduit and a plurality of arms configured to secure the shunt structure to a tissue wall, and a pressure sensor device attached to one of the plurality of arms of the shunt structure. The pressure sensor device comprises one or more sensor elements, an antenna, control circuitry electrically coupled to the one or more sensor elements and the antenna, and a housing that houses the control circuitry.
Method and apparatus for measuring flow through a lumen
A prosthesis for monitoring a characteristic of flow includes a first tubular prosthesis having a lumen and a sensor for detecting the characteristic of flow through the lumen. The sensor may be covered with another tubular prosthesis or by a layer of material in order to insulate the sensor from the fluid flow. A pocket may be formed between the tubular prosthesis and the adjacent layer of material or prosthesis and the sensor may be disposed in the pocket.
