Measuring breast density using breast computed technology
A device and methods for performing a simulated CT biopsy on a region of interest on a patient. The device comprises a gantry (22) configured to mount an x-ray emitter (24) and CT detector (26) on opposing sides of the gantry, a motor (28) rotatably coupled to the gantry such that the gantry rotates horizontally about the region of interest, and a high resolution x-ray detector (172) positioned adjacent the CT detector in between the CT detector and the x-ray emitter.
BREAST COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY SYSTEM
The present invention provides a breast computed tomography system in which the body motion and the pain of an examinee during capturing of images of the breast are reduced. The breast computed tomography system includes a gantry accommodating a light emitting unit that radiates light onto the breast. The gantry includes a gripper having a right gripping portion and a left gripping portion.
Control device, radiography system, medical imaging system, control method, and control program
A mammography apparatus includes a compression control unit that, in a case in which continuous imaging that captures a radiographic image of the breast compressed by a compression plate and then captures an ultrasound image of the breast while maintaining the compressed state is performed, performs control to set a force of the compression plate compressing the breast to a first force in the capture of the radiographic image and to change the force of the compression plate compressing the breast from the first force to a second force lower than the first force in the capture of the ultrasound image.
Breast compression and imaging systems and methods
A compression paddle with a plurality of markers is advanced towards a patient's breast which has been positioned on a support platform for an imaging procedure. An initial position of the compression paddle is detected relative to the support platform when a portion of the breast is contacted. An initial marker is identified which is associated with a feature of the breast when the compression paddle is in the initial position. A compression target marker is based at least in part on the initial position and the initial marker.
Self-shielded x-ray computed tomography system
A system for breast computed tomography includes a table supporting a patient in a prone position with an opening positioned for a breast of the patient to extend downwards therethrough, a gantry assembly positioned beneath the table with a platform driven to rotate by a motor, an x-ray source assembly coupled to the platform to rotate therewith and positioned to irradiate with an x-ray beam at least a portion of the breast, and a detector assembly coupled to the platform to rotate therewith and positioned to receive the x-ray beam from the x-ray source assembly. The system includes a shielding enclosure rigidly mounted atop the platform to rotate therewith, enclosing during rotation of the platform the detector assembly, the breast, and the x-ray beam, and having walls composed of a material and a thickness to attenuate an x-ray beam of a predetermined energy and intensity by a predetermined amount.
PATIENT IMAGING AND TREATMENT TABLE EXTENSION WITH INTEGRATED HANDRAILS
A patient treatment table for prone patient breast examination and treatment is described. The table may be in the form of a table base and table extension, the table extension being removably attached to the table base. The patient treatment table extension includes one or more hand rails for grasping by the patient above and along one or both longitudinal sides of the device to assist the patient in getting onto the treatment table. The handrails are mounted such that they can be removed or swung out of the way of medical equipment once the patient is positioned on the table. The table may also be in the form of a couch-top overlay.
Mammography apparatus
Apparatus for diagnosing breast cancer, the apparatus comprising a controller having a set of instructions executable to: acquire a contrast enhanced region of interest (CE-ROI) in an X-ray image of a patient's breast, the X-ray image comprising X-ray pixels that indicate intensity of X-rays that passed through the breast to generate the image; determine a texture neighborhood for each of a plurality of X-ray pixels in the CE-ROI, the texture neighborhood for a given X-ray pixel of the plurality of X-ray pixels extending to a bounding pixel radius of BPR pixels from the given pixel; generate a texture feature vector (TF) having components based on the indications of intensity provided by a plurality of X-ray pixels in the CE-ROI that are located within the texture neighborhood; and use a classifier to classify the texture feature vector TF to determine whether the CE-ROI is malignant.
Imaging table and manufacturing method therefor, mammography apparatus imaging table and manufacturing method therefor, and mammography apparatus
An imaging table to be supported in a cantilever state on an X-ray imaging apparatus, includes a planar body including an opening portion in a surface to be connected to the apparatus, and a coupling member to be connected to the apparatus. The planar body includes a first member forming a top surface including an X-ray irradiation surface, and a second member forming a bottom surface opposed to the X-ray irradiation surface and a standing wall portion erectly provided on an outer circumference of the bottom surface. The second member is bonded to the first member in the standing wall portion. The first member and the coupling member are bonded to each other. The first member has an aluminum-equivalent X-ray transmission dose of 0.5 mmAL or less at any point in the X-ray irradiation surface.
Breast Calcification Imaging Phantoms and Methods of Use
A radiographic phantom comprises: a body comprising a wax material or a wax-like material, wherein the body has an x-ray attenuation value that is approximately the same as that of a human tissue; and a plurality of crystalline test objects positioned on or within the body. A method comprises: obtaining a radiographic phantom comprising a body and a plurality of crystalline test objects positioned on or within the body, wherein the body comprises a wax material or a wax-like material, and wherein the body has an x-ray attenuation value that is approximately the same as that of a human breast tissue; performing an operation of the radiographic phantom and using a device; and assessing a performance of the device based on the operation.
