Multi-directional x-ray imaging system

An imaging system and methods including a gantry defining a bore and an imaging axis extending through the bore, and at least one support member that supports the gantry such that the imaging axis has a generally vertical orientation, where the gantry is displaceable with respect to the at least one support member in a generally vertical direction. The imaging system may be configured to obtain a vertical imaging scan (e.g., a helical x-ray CT scan), of a patient in a weight-bearing position. The gantry may be rotatable between a first position, in which the gantry is supported such that the imaging axis has a generally vertical orientation, and a second position, such that the imaging axis has a generally horizontal orientation. The gantry may be displaceable in a horizontal direction and the system may perform a horizontal scan of a patient or object positioned within the bore.

The present invention provides a breast computed tomography system in which the body motion and the pain of an examinee during capturing of images of the breast are reduced. The breast computed tomography system includes a gantry accommodating a light emitting unit that radiates light onto the breast. The gantry includes a gripper having a right gripping portion and a left gripping portion.

Transformable imaging system

A transformable imaging system configured to operate in at least two configurations. A first configuration may be open and a second configuration may be closed. The closed configuration may allow for imaging in along an arc greater than 180 degrees.

Mobile X-ray imaging system

A mobile diagnostic imaging system includes a battery system and charging system. The battery system is located in the rotating portion of the imaging system, and includes one or more battery packs comprising electrochemical cells. Each battery pack includes a control circuit that controls the state of charge of each electrochemical cell, and implements a control scheme that causes the electrochemical cells to have a similar charge state. The battery system communicates with a charging system on the non-rotating portion to terminate charge when one or more of the electrochemical cells reach a full state of charge. The imaging system also includes a docking system that electrically connects the charging system to the battery system during charging and temporarily electrically disconnects the rotating and non-rotating portions during imaging, and a drive mechanism for rotating the rotating portion relative to the non-rotating portion.

MINI C-ARM WITH MOVABLE SOURCE

A mini C-arm with a movable X-ray source is disclosed. The mini C-arm including a moveable base, a C-arm assembly, and an arm assembly for coupling the C-arm assembly and the base. The C-arm assembly includes a first end, a second end, and a curved intermediate body portion defining an arc length. The source is positioned adjacent to the first end. A detector is positioned at the second end. The source is moveable along the arc length and relative to the detector to enable a plurality of images of the patient's anatomy to be acquired including a first image when the X-ray source is at a first position and a second image when the X-ray source is at a second position. The images being taken without moving the patient's anatomy. The C-arm assembly may include a motor and a belt drive system for moving the source relative to the detector.

A radiation imaging apparatus comprising an imaging region configured to acquire a radiation image, a controller configured to set a detection region as a region to be used to detect the radiation in the imaging region and a rotation detector is provided. The rotation detector detects a rotation angle of a reference portion of the imaging region with respect to a reference direction of the subject, and the controller decides, in accordance with a part to be imaged of the subject and the rotation angle, a side located in the same direction as the reference direction of the subject among sides defining an outer edge of the imaging region, sets the detection region at a position away from the side by a predetermined distance for imaging of the part, and controls imaging based on a dose entering the detection region.
