For intraluminal ultrasound probes, two long-thin arrays (e.g., 1D arrays) are provided in the intraluminal ultrasound probe for bi-plane imaging. The arrays are rotatable relative to each other so that during insertion the arrays align to be long and thin, allowing the shaft of the probe to be narrow. For bi-plane imaging after insertion, one array is rotated relative to the other array, defining two non-parallel imaging planes.

Systems and methods for cardiac pacing are provided, where a pacing lead is placed at or near the bundle of His. A method for pacing a heart of a patient comprises: introducing a sheath to vasculature of the patient; steering the sheath within a coronary sinus in the heart to lodge a distal end of the sheath to a target location proximal to the bundle of His above a septum separating a left ventricle and a right ventricle of the heart; advancing a pacing lead through a lumen of the sheath to the target location; coupling the pacing lead to cardiac tissue at the target location; removing the sheath; and electrically pacing the bundle of His using the pacing lead.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING THREE DIMENSIONAL GEOMETRIC MODELS OF ANATOMICAL REGIONS

A three-dimensional geometric image of an anatomical region is generated from a plurality of two-dimensional echographic image slices of the region. The image slices are filtered using a reaction-diffusion partial differential equation model before being arranged into a voxel space. Each voxel is then assigned a voxel value to create a volumetric data set from which the volumetric image can be rendered. The image is rendered from far to near, relative to a preset viewing direction, by an alpha-blending process. The alpha value at any given voxel can be determined using the magnitude of the density gradient vector at that voxel. Similarly, the direction of the density gradient vector at a given voxel can be used as a surface normal vector for shading purposes at that voxel.

DEVICE IMPLANTATION GUIDANCE

Electrical field-guided positioning of a second device within a body cavity, using electrical field mapping information generated from electrical field measurements by electrodes of a first device. The first device, in some embodiments, is a catheter electrode probe, and the second device is an internally implantable and/or operated medical device. An exposed, electrically conductive portion of the second device is optionally configured to be used as an electrical field measuring electrode. A rule is applied to measurements made by this electrode to estimate its position within a body cavity. The rule is generated, in some embodiments, using measurements made by the first device. In some embodiments, electrical measurements are used to guide implantation verification. In some embodiments, electrical measurements are used to guide navigation at and through a septal wall between body cavities.

A training platform, a method and a computer-readable medium for evaluating users in capturing images of an internal anatomical region for the analysis of organs. Automated machine learning models, trained on a dataset of labelled training images associated with different imaging device positions, are used. The one or more automated machine learning models are used to process an image resulting from a user positioning an imaging device at various imaging device positions relative to a training manikin, a human or an animal, to determine whether the generated image corresponds to a predefined view required for the analysis of the organ features shown therein. An output indicative of whether the generated image corresponds to the predefined view expected for organ analysis and measurements is provided.
