Dental system control GUI system and method
Some embodiments include a dental laser system with a controller coupled to an electromagnetic energy source, where the controller's graphical user interface enables a user to provide input to control operating parameters of the electromagnetic energy source. In some embodiments, the graphical user interface can render a controller enabling user control of a plurality dental laser system parameters with a single action or input. In some embodiments, the user's interaction with a graphical portion of the controller sufficient to control more than one operational parameter of the dental laser system without a requirement for the user to provide an additional or substantially simultaneous interaction with any other controller or portion of the graphical user interface. Further, the graphical content has a graphic indicative of a mode, an operational status, and/or an operational parameter of the dental laser system that is displayed, updated, or animated by the controller.
MEDICAL DEVICE AND COOLING-FLUID/RINSING-FLUID HOSE
A medical device, a cooling-fluid/rinsing-fluid hose, and a method for using a medical device. The medical device includes a handpiece with an interior enclosed by a handpiece housing, preferably for receiving a drive. The medical device also has an effector arranged on or coupleable to the handpiece and a supply device for supplying cooling fluid and/or rinsing fluid to the effector. The supply device includes a guide tube or guide cannula that passes through the interior in the handpiece longitudinal direction and is rigidly connected to the handpiece. The guide tube or guide cannula, which opens to the outside in a distal and in a proximal handpiece region, longitudinally guides a preferably single-use cooling-fluid/rinsing-fluid hose that is pushed into the guide tube.
TURBINE-DRIVEN DENTAL INSTRUMENT
Flow-driven dental instrument (1), comprising a grip part (2), a head part (3), a media line (4), and a fastening means (8), wherein the grip part (2) is constructed in the form of a sleeve with two ends and a media connection (5) is disposed on the first end. At the second end, the head part (3) projects at least partially into the grip part (2). A first end of the media line (4) is connected to the head part (3) and the media line (4) extends from the head part (3) through the grip part (2) to the media connection (5). The fastening means (8) comprises a sleeve (9) having an external thread and a nut (10) having an internal thread, wherein the sleeve (9) is connected to the outer wall of the media line (4) in a material-locking manner and, at least in a direction toward the head part (3), the nut is held in the grip part (2) in a fixed position.
System and methods for preventative dental hard tissue treatment with a laser
This disclosure relates to various systems and methods related to preventative laser-based treatment of a dental tissue; for example, to prevent a patient from forming cavities. In some instances, a laser-based treatment system can generate a laser beam pulse with a fluence profile at a treatment site that results in either an increase in acid resistance of the tissue or removal of carbonate from the tissue, without melting or ablating the tissue. In some instances, the laser-based treatment system can direct the laser beam to various locations within a treatment site according to a temporal and/or spatial pattern, that results in either an increase in acid resistance of the tissue or removal of carbonate from the tissue, without melting or ablating the tissue. Many other systems and techniques for preventative and other laser-based treatment are also described.
DENTAL HANDPIECE THAT HAS FLUSH CAPABILITY
A dental handpiece system includes a dental handpiece for operating a dental burr and providing a stream of water to the dental burr for cooling a tooth being acted upon by the dental burr. The dental handpiece further includes a flush water port for providing a flush water stream that is directed away from the dental burr to allow the dentist to flush a work site in a patient's mouth. The dental handpiece can also include an air outlet for providing a stream of air that is also not directed to the dental burr and that can be used to dry other dental instruments as well as work sites in the patient's mouth.
METHOD OF PREVENTING SUCKBACK OF DENTAL HANDPIECE BY BYPASS INJECTION OF DRIVING AIR AND DENTAL HANDPIECE SYSTEM HAVING BYPASS INJECTION STRUCTURE
A method of preventing suckback of a dental handpiece and a dental handpiece system having a bypass injection structure are capable of effectively blocking a suckback phenomenon that occurs at the moment a rotating impeller stops. The method of preventing suckback includes bypassing air pumped from an air pump in a state where a flow path of an air supply pipe is blocked at the moment the impeller stops rotating and halts inside a head casing and injecting the air into the head casing through an air discharge pipe to block the suckback phenomenon.
Dental Cutting Lubricant and Method of Use Thereof
The present invention provides a method for dental cutting including the steps of providing a dental unit water line irrigation system, the dental unit water line irrigation system including a container surrounding a solution chamber; providing a lubricant for use in the dental unit water line irrigation system, the lubricant defining a composition including 10 to 25% by weight of ethanol; 5 to 25% by weight of glycerol; 10 to 25% by weight of xylitol; 0.5 to 5% by weight of a nonionic surfactant and emulsifying agent; 0.15 to 0.5% by weight of a plurality of flavoring agents; and 45 to 60% by weight of water; and selectively operating the water line irrigation system to express the lubricant onto a dental cutting site.
DENTAL HANDPIECE WITH EMBEDDED WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A dental handpiece includes a head portion supporting a turbine for a removable rotating dental tool, and a handle portion having an internal cavity. One or more conduits extend at least partially through the internal cavity toward the head portion. At least one of the conduits is a drive fluid tube delivering drive fluid to the head portion for rotating the turbine. A wireless communication device within the internal cavity is attached to at least one of the conduits. At least a section of the handle portion surrounding the wireless communication device is formed of a dielectric material. The wireless communication device is configured to wirelessly communicate with an external reader or writer and store data related to at identification, use, and/or maintenance of the handpiece. An electrically inert substrate material encapsulates the wireless communication device, which is electrically isolated from other components of the handpiece.
