Method of making anterior dental restorations from sintered preforms
A method is provided for shaping a custom anterior dental restoration from a preform, wherein the preform comprises a preform body and a preform stem. A method is further disclosed for generating one or more nesting positions for the restoration design within the geometry of the preform body relative to the position of the preform stem. A method is further disclosed for generating machining instructions based on the selected nesting position to optimize machining for chair-side applications.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR INHIBITION AND INTERRUPTION OF BIOFILM FORMATION
Compositions and methods for inhibiting and interrupting biofilm formation, and for destabilizing established biofilms are provided, the novel compositions including polymeric resins and monomeric non-polymerizable and polymerizable resins. More particularly, the compositions and methods enable the protection and removal of biofilms from surfaces in the context of medical, consumer, domestic, food service, environmental and industrial applications, where the effects constitute beneficial and desirable biofilm attenuating activity.
Dental prosthesis blank
A dental prosthesis is provided, manufactured from a monobloc or multibloc prosthesis blank (10), which is composed of a gum-colored material (14) and a tooth-colored material (12), which materials (12, 14) are bonded to each other by bonding, polymerization and/or one-piece manufacture. The boundary surface (16) between the materials is wave-shaped comprising alternating grooves (22) and ribs (24) in the course of the dental arch, and radial in an oral-vestibular direction in the region of the anterior teeth (33) to be created. The boundary surface (16), at least in the region of the molars (26)—again as viewed in the oral vestibular direction—has parallel grooves (22) and ribs (24) forming troughs and crests of the waveform, or grooves (22) and ribs (24) such that they extend in deviation from parallel by at most 10 degrees, in particular at most 5 degrees, at least in the region of the molars (26).
Method of producing a dental prosthesis
The invention relates to a method of producing a dental prosthesis from a one-piece or multi-piece prosthesis blank which is constructed from a gum-colored material and a tooth-colored material (32), in particular in each case on a plastic base. It is characterized by being connected to each other at connecting surfaces, having an interface between the gum-colored and tooth-colored materials. This interface, when viewed along the connecting surfaces has an undulating shape and viewed in the vestibular direction has a radial shape. In order to finish the dental prosthesis, a CAD/CAM device determines the exact course of a gingival line, based on patient-specific data, and produces the prosthesis.
Dental restorative material and resin material for dentistry cutting formed of same
The dental restorative material of the present invention is a dental restorative material that contains a resin matrix and an inorganic filler in an amount of 25 to 1,000 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the resin matrix, and in the dental restorative material, the resin matrix contains a polyurethane resin, and the inorganic filler has an average particle diameter of 0.001 to 100 μm. According to the present invention, a dental restorative material that has a high bending strength and a high surface hardness, and is excellent in transparency and cutting workability, and a resin material for dental cutting work containing the same can be provided.
Method of manufacturing an article
A method of manufacturing an article comprising: (a) performing an additive manufacturing process to firm an article in an initial state, the article comprising mounting features and being supported during the additive manufacturing process by support structures; and (b) performing a second manufacturing process to transform the article into a second state, which second manufacturing process is a subtractive process comprising: (i) mounting, via the mounting features formed during the additive manufacturing process, the article in a holding device of a machine for operating on the article, with the support structures or at least remnants thereof remaining on the article, and (ii) with the article so mounted in the holding device, processing at least one feature on a surface of the article on which the support structures were provided to remove material on the at least one feature provided by the support structures.
AUTOMATED METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ORAL APPLIANCES
Disclosed herein are methods of manufacturing an oral appliance, the method comprising the steps of: a) importing into a computer aided design (CAD) computer program a digitized data set obtained from a three-dimensional scan of a patient's dentition; b) preparing a three-dimensional electronic model of the patient's dentition; c) subtracting the three-dimensional electronic model of the patient's dentition from an image of a solid block to obtain an appliance data set; and d) manufacturing a dental appliance in accordance with the appliance data set. Also disclosed are devices made by the above method, and methods of treating a condition, for example a sleep breathing disorder, by using a device made by the above method.
TOOTH AND BONE RESTORATION VIA PLASMA DEPOSITION
A natural and sustainable material is derived from the nut of the tagua palm tree that may be fashioned into devices for humans and animals. A pulverized and reconstituted material is disclosed herein that is also treated with a low temperature atmospheric plasma treatment. In an embodiment, a biocompatible carrier gas is ionized to form a biocompatible atmospheric plasma stream. Material, such as nano-scale powdered hydroxyapatite, is introduced into the plasma stream, which is then applied to the natural nut material.
REAL-TIME MONITORING SYSTEM FOR ARTIFICIAL TOOTH PROCESSING MACHINE
A real-time monitoring system for an artificial tooth processing machine includes a work bed portion on which a base tooth material selected from a titanium material and a zirconia material is fixedly installed and in which a wet die configured to process a titanium material and a dry die configured to process a zirconia material are disposed to be comparted from each other, a processing tool portion having one end on which a driving spindle to which a processing tool is coupled is provided to process the base tooth material while approaching or moving away from the base tooth material, and a spindle monitoring portion provided on the driving spindle, disposed in the work bed portion, and configured to monitor the driving spindle to recognize an abrasion degree, a damage state, alignment, or the like of the processing tool in real time.
Multi-layer film with improved modulus properties
The invention relates to a multi-layer, preferably co-extruded, plastic film with improved modulus properties, which is suitable, in particular, for producing three-dimensionally shaped articles.
