Dental prosthesis with sealed attachment interface and cleaning fluid access thereto
A dental prosthesis has a gum sealing rim that snugly contacts the patient's gum. The cavity formed within the gum sealing rim is accessed by through holes via which a pressurized cleaning fluid may be injected into the cavity. The cleaning fluid swirls around and washes of bacteria and deposits. Through a number of cleaning fluid drains, the cleaning fluid exits again the cavity. An additional drain blocker may be configured such that it blocks the cleaning fluid drains while it is clamped by the patient between the teeth. The resulting pressure build up in the cavity causes the cleaning fluid to squeeze out and clean the sealing interface between the gum sealing rim and the patient's gum.
Oral Care Devices Held In-Mouth
Hands-free systems, devices and methods, adapted for brushing, cleaning and treating all of a user's teeth simultaneously, are provided. In some embodiments, such a device comprises brushes for cleaning all of a user's teeth simultaneously. In some embodiments, such a device includes a generally U-shaped channel(s), accepting, cleaning and/or treating all of a user's teeth simultaneously. Customized fluid jets within such devices are provided, introducing dentifrices and other treatments into the channels. In some embodiments, compartments and cartridges with a proprietary form factor for delivering dentifrice and other treatments and for disposing of waste without mess are provided. In some embodiments, data are gathered, analyzed and serve as the basis for a treatment plan, which may then be carried out by the system(s), device(s) and method(s), over time.
Systems and methods for removal of dental biofilm using irrigation
Systems and methods for cleaning teeth by removal of dental biofilm. In one illustrative embodiment, a custom fit tray that fits over the teeth and seals against the gum of a mammal. A number of ports are embedded in the tray, each in fluid communication with a hose or line supplied with either a vacuum or an irrigant/fluid source. A small space between the tray and the teeth provides for fluid to flow around the teeth. A router may be connected to both an irrigant fluid supply reservoir and a vacuum pump to direct either fluid or vacuum to the various hoses with the routing changing over time for optimum cleaning. Air may be injected into the cleaning fluid in varying amounts, to create bubbles, water droplets, and/or boluses of the cleaning fluid to increase and focus the hydrodynamic forces of the fluid upon reaching the teeth.
Device to Prevent or Reduce Early Childhood Caries
A device for rinsing a child's mouth and teeth comprising a pliable vessel having a front end, a back end, and side walls defining a hollow interior space inside the vessel. The side walls contain a first depression near the front end and a second depression opposite the first notch. The first depression contains at least one front opening in fluid communication with the interior space, angled to face the front surface of the top teeth, and at least one back opening positioned closer to the front end from the front opening, in fluid communication with the interior space, angled to face the back surface of the top teeth. A removable cap to removably close the vessel mounted at the back end. When the vessel is filled with water and the front end is inserted into a child's mouth so that the first depression receives the portion of the top teeth and the child's second depression receives the portion of the child's bottom teeth, manually squeezing the vessel pushes water through the front opening and the back opening to rinse the portion of the top teeth and the mouth without directly rinsing the bottom teeth.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TEETH CLEANING
Embodiments are described wherein a system for brushing the teeth of a person comprises a master input device; a flexible teeth tray configured to at least partially encapsulate one or more of the teeth in a flexible substrate material, the flexible teeth tray comprising one or more vibratory transducers removably coupled to one or more brushing panels; and a controller operatively coupled to the master input device and the one or more vibratory transducers; wherein subject to an input from the master input device, the controller is configured to cause reciprocating brushing motion of the one or more brushing panels against a surface of the one or more encapsulated teeth, to clean the one or more teeth.
Mouthpiece for a Dental Cleaning Device, Method of Brushing Teeth, and Dental Cleaning Device Comprising the Mouthpiece
A mouthpiece for a dental cleaning device comprises a supporting structure configured to encompass a plurality of teeth of a dental arch. The supporting structure has an inner surface facing a tooth surface. At least one brushing chamber is provided at the inner surface side. The brushing chamber comprises a flexible wall part being deformable by pressurizing or depressurizing the brushing chamber. Bristles extend externally from the flexible wall part. In a method of brushing teeth, a plurality of teeth is encompassed by the mouthpiece, and the at least one brushing chamber is alternatingly pressurized and depressurized.
Adaptive brushing cycle
An oral care appliance for cleaning teeth of a user and a method of adapting a brushing cycle of the oral care appliance are disclosed. Specific embodiments disclosed herein adapt the at least one brushing cycle based on a variety of factors, either alone or in combination, such as the time elapsed since a last brushing event and the identity of a user.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERSONALIZED ORAL CARE
Described herein are systems and methods for providing personalized oral care. A system for oral care comprises an oral insert. The oral insert is sized and shaped according to a user's oral cavity, and has a plurality of fluid nozzles and an effluence conduit to channel fluid out of the user's oral cavity. Pressurized fluid provided through the nozzles are directed to, for example, the interproximal spaces between the user's teeth. In some variations, a system comprises an oral insert and an elastomeric substrate that is attached to the oral insert. In some variations, the elastomeric substrate comprises a textured surface vibrates and/or mechanically agitates and/or translates along the surface of the user's teeth. In some variations, a system for oral care comprises a microbiome collection chamber. Some variations comprise dental shim devices that are used for acquiring oral structure data and alignment between the upper and lower arches.
Systems and methods for personalized oral irrigation
Described herein are systems and methods for providing personalized oral irrigation. One variation of a system for personalized oral irrigation comprises a fluid reservoir and a customized oral insert in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir. METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A RECESS WALL LINED WITH BRISTLES FOR A MOUTHPIECE FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY BRUSHING AT A PLURALITY OF DENTAL POSITIONS, AND A RECESS WALL AND MOUTHPIECE OBTAINED WITH THE METHOD; AND DENTAL CLEANING DEVICE; AND MOUTHPIECE FOR BRUSHING AT A PLURALITY OF DENTAL POSITIONS, BRUSHING DEVICE COMPRISING SUCH MOUTHPIECE, AND METHOD OF OPERATING SUCH A MOUTHPIECE OR BRUSHING DEVICE
The invention relates to method of manufacturing a recess wall lined with bristles for a mouthpiece for simultaneously brushing at a plurality of dental positions, and to a recess wall and mouthpiece manufactured according to the method. In a providing step, an elongate, continuous, bristled sheet part having a first side lined with a plurality of bristles is provided. The elongate sheet part defines a length axis extending parallel to the sheet part and, viewed transverse to the length axis, a cross-sectional shape. The sheet part obtained in the providing step has an initial condition in which the cross-sectional shape has an initial shape, and the length axis is arch-shaped. In a transforming step, the sheet part of the providing step is transformed from the initial condition to a final condition to provide the recess wall. In the final condition the cross-sectional shape has a final U-shape, the length axis is arch shaped, and the first side is a concave inner side of the final U-shape. The first side is in the final condition more concave than in the initial condition.
