A dental handpiece control apparatus including: a relay 17 that switches a polarity of a voltage applied to a motor 20, and thereby switches a rotation direction of the motor 20 to forward rotation and backward rotation, the motor 20 being incorporated in the dental handpiece to rotate a cutting tool (a file) mounted to the dental handpiece; and a control section 11 that controls the switching of the voltage polarity by the relay 17 based on a rotation angle θ.sub.F for forward rotation and a rotation angle θ.sub.R for backward rotation of the motor 20, the rotation angle θ.sub.F and the rotation angle θ.sub.R being associated with state information of the file.

TREATMENT DEVICE

A treatment device that shortens the time period until healing is determined even when a bone defect or a root apex lesion is generated in an apical area. The treatment device includes a file holder, a high-frequency signal generating circuit, and a control circuit. The file holder holds a file to be located in the site to be treated. The high-frequency signal generating circuit passes a high frequency current through the file. The control circuit controls a frequency of the high frequency current to be passed through the file from the high-frequency signal generating circuit. The control circuit controls the frequency of the high frequency current to be passed through the file within a range of 1.001 MHz to 11.700 MHz.

DENTAL TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

In a dental treatment apparatus, a control circuit controls a drive motor in accordance with a drive sequence. The drive sequence includes a plurality of drive patterns and at least one of the plurality of drive patterns is different from other drive pattern. The plurality of drive patterns include at least one drive pattern having such drive that a cutting tool is rotated in a cutting direction for cutting a treatment portion and drive for rotating the cutting tool in a non-cutting direction which is reverse to the cutting direction.

Surgical device and methods of use

A surgical device for identification of a surgical site of interest, such as a craniofacial or dental site (root apex of an identified tooth), and a method for using the device is provided. The device includes a perimeter bar and a plurality of intermediate cross bars arranged in a grid structure. The device can be used during a surgical procedure requiring enhanced precision, such as during an endodontic surgical procedure, by positioning the device next to a patient's tooth and capturing a CBCT image, the CBCT image being used to identify a drilling location. The device can be repositioned alongside the patient's tooth, and used to identify an accurate drilling position.

The present invention is a dental handpiece system including a handpiece and a rod-shaped cutting tool, in which the handpiece includes a handpiece body and a head part provided at a tip of the handpiece body, the rod-shaped cutting tool is rotatably attached to the head part of the handpiece and is used to cut a root canal, and the dental handpiece system detects at least one selected from the group consisting of a force applied to the handpiece from an external matter in an axial direction of the cutting tool and an acceleration of the handpiece in the axial direction of the cutting tool when cutting the root canal.

A dental treatment apparatus includes: a handpiece including a head that holds a cutting tool; a drive unit capable of performing forward rotation driving for rotating the cutting tool held at the head in a cutting direction, and reverse rotation driving for rotating the cutting tool held at the head in a non-cutting direction; an operation receiving unit that receives an operation of an operator; and a controller that controls the drive unit that drives the cutting tool, according to the operation received by the operation receiving unit. Only when a prescribed condition is satisfied, the controller sets the operation received by the operation receiving unit as an operation to drive the cutting tool by reverse rotation driving, or as an operation to drive the cutting tool by twist driving by which the forward rotation driving and the reverse rotation driving are alternately performed.
