LASER ASSISTED WOUND HEALING PROTOCOL AND SYSTEM
The present invention provides for devices and methods of treating wounds, including general wounds, gum disease and gingival tissues post scaling/root planning, using a diode laser which generates a beam of light having a wavelength in the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum (400 nm-700 nm). Further disclosed are devices and methods capable of stimulating tissue regeneration at the site of a wound.
SUBGINGIVAL MEDICAMENT DELIVERY TRAY
Oral appliance delivery trays for use in maintaining or improving oral health, particularly the sub-gingival region, are provided. Methods of manufacturing individualized oral appliance delivery trays are provided. Pre-fabricated oral appliance trays comprising a compound pre-disposed therein are provided. The compositions and methods may be used to maintain or improve oral, periodontal and systemic health or to prevent or slow oral, periodontal or systemic health issues related to the oral cavity.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USING MULTIPOTENT STEM CELLS TO REDUCE DISEASE AND ENHANCE WELLNESS
Provided herein are methods of using multipotent stem cells in treatment or prophylaxis of disease, in a system for improving general health and overall wellness. The disclosure provides a method in which multipotent stem cells are intravenously administered within the oral cavity, which has a rapid effect on symptoms of inflammation and/or infection, not only treating periodontal diseases, but also reducing bacterial load, pain, bone loss, etc. as well as stimulating new bone growth and achieving other hallmarks of improvement in health and overall systemic wellness. In some instances, a sample of a bodily fluid is drawn from the patient before injection to measure baseline levels of several biomarkers to obtain the patient's status on the spectrum of health and wellness and/or to compare post-treatment effects of the injected stem cells, to measure improvement, and to develop a treatment plan for enhancing multisystem wellness.
LASER-ASSISTED ORAL SURGERY SYSTEM
Periodontal disorders such as disorders associated with a dental implant are treated. An average power for a laser is selected via a user interface on a tablet, along with a set of permissible laser parameters provided in response to the selected average power. A gingival trough or flap is created around the implant with the laser. Infected tissue is selectively ablated or denatured via photothermolysis, and a pocket is lased around the affected implant. Marginal tissues are compressed against the implant.
DENTAL TOOL
A dental tool has a body and a working element. The body has a connecting portion and a measuring portion. The connecting portion is disposed on an end of the body. The measuring portion is formed on an external surface of the body opposite to the connecting portion. The working element is connected to the body and has a connecting end and a working end. The connecting end of the working element is connected to the connecting portion of the body. The working end of the working element is connected to the connecting end of the working element and extends out of the connecting portion. The working element of the dental tool provides a detection effect, and the measuring portion of the body provides a measurement effect.
PERIODONTAL PROBE AND METHODS OF READING PERIODONTAL POCKETS DEPTH
Embodiments provide improved periodontal probes and an improved method of reading gum depth. In a first embodiment, a periodontal probe provides contrast by providing illumination directed towards the health care practitioner. In a second embodiment, a periodontal probe detects a gum depth by sensing a contrast in light. In a third embodiment, a computer-implemented method measuring depth of a pocket of a patient's gum.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING DEPTH AND HEALTH OF PERIODONTAL SULCUS
A non-invasive method for determining a gingival pocket depth includes seating a photoacoustic probe tray in a subject's mouth; transmitting photonic energy transgingivally; receiving generated ultrasonic signals; determining and processing the time of flight between transmitting and receiving and a relative amplitude of the ultrasonic signals to the transmitted photonic energy to determine densities and a topography of the subject's dental anatomy; determining a repeatable reference point; and measuring the gingival pocket depth in relation to the repeatable reference point. A system includes a transducer tray a biogel-containing bite wafer seated within the transducer tray; a processor; a memory; a user interface; and a visual display. The transducer tray has at least one embedded pulsed laser source and at least one embedded ultrasonic sensor.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAPPING TOOTH SURFACES
Provided herein are platforms and methods for mapping a three-dimensional (3D) dental anatomy of a subject.
Laser-assisted periodontics
Periodontal disorders such as disorders associated with a dental implant are treated with a laser where an average laser power along with other laser parameters provide particular settings for the treatment, the treatment including one or more of creating a gingival trough or flap around the implant, ablating or denaturing infected tissue via photothermolysis, lasing a pocket around the affected implant, and compressing marginal tissues against the implant.
Tracked dental measurement device
A method of collecting dental measurements comprising: receiving optical measurement data of at least a portion of a subject's mouth; contacting a portion of a measuring device to portions of the subject's mouth to collect position measurement data, where the measuring device includes a tracker; and combining the optical measurement data and the position measurement data.
