Bondable dental assemblies and methods including a compressible material

Dental assemblies and related methods of making are provided. The dental assemblies include a dental article with a bonding surface an adhesive having both a compressible material and at least one hardenable dental composition extending across the bonding surface. The compressible material is coupled to the dental article by a first quantity of hardened dental composition extending at least partially through the compressible material and contacting the bonding surface. The hardened dental composition extends over less than the entire bonding surface. Adjacent portions of the compressible material contain a second quantity of unhardened dental composition, preserving flexibility of the compressible material. Advantageously, this configuration was found to enhance bond reliability and facilitate manufacturing.

METHOD OF ADMINISTERING ADHESIVE TO BOND ORTHODONTIC BRACKETS

Methods of administering a quantity of adhesive to bond orthodontic brackets is disclosed herein. The quantity of adhesive to bond a selected bracket to a tooth at a specific location thereon can be calculated based on a known geometry of the selected bracket and a digital model of the patient's teeth. A instruction guide can visually indicate with a graphic the amount of adhesive to dispense from a syringe or other device to bond the selected bracket to the surface of the tooth at a specific location planned in the digital model.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL FABRICATING MATERIAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING LAYERED DENTAL PRODUCTS

This invention designs and builds multiple layers (two layers or more) of various dental devices, specifically denture base or denture, where printed multiple layered denture base with teeth cavities to receive artificial denture tooth materials to form final dental devices, such as partial and full dentures. It can also print denture teeth. This invention also designs and prints multiple layers (two layers or more) of denture base with artificial denture teeth to form final dental devices, such as partial and full dentures. A method for manufacturing a layered denture is provided. The invention provides a multiple layered denture base materials for printing a denture base. The invention also provides a multiple layered denture tooth materials for printing artificial denture teeth. Highly shape adjustable or shape memory polymer layer(s) may be used in these multiple layered denture base forms. Different layer of material has different mechanical and physical properties to meet different need, which provide added benefits to the patients, dental professional and dental laboratory.

Composite Extraction Pen
20170348070 · 2017-12-07 ·

A lightweight, small footprint, composite extraction pen, for the delivery of dental filling composite from commercially available composite filled carpules. An electric linear actuator is housed in a slender, pen-like housing configured to accept, constrain and allow the rotational positioning of commercially available composite filled carpules. The carpules are contained within an adaptor that connects to the body of the pen. The linear actuator extends and retracts a piston through a bore in the carpule so as to exert pressure on the composite contained therein. The pen provides precise composite delivery while maintaining a highly visible dental environment.

AN ANATOMICAL DRAPE DEVICE
20170252117 · 2017-09-07 ·

An anatomical drape, such as a dental drape, for covering a treatment area of an anatomical part, the drape comprising an elastomeric material capable of conforming to the contours of the anatomical part and including a curing agent wherein activation of the curing agent, for example by a light source, causes selective hardening of the stretched material to at least partially set the drape in a configuration conforming to the anatomical part. The semi-rigid set drape is liquid impermeable but gas permeable. A method of manufacturing the drape is also disclosed.

Packaged orthodontic appliances

The present disclosure provides a packaged orthodontic appliance comprising an orthodontic appliance and a packaging base including first and second tie-wing support arms, wherein a first tie-wing support arm supports the first tie-wing of the orthodontic appliance, and the second tie-wing support arm supports the second tie-wing of the orthodontic appliance.

HYDRATED ORTHODONTIC ARTICLES, KITS, AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME

The present disclosure provides methods of making a hydrated orthodontic article is provided. One method includes a) providing a photopolymerizable composition; b) selectively curing the photopolymerizable composition using actinic radiation to form an article in the shape of an orthodontic article having a plurality of layers of at least one photopolymerized polymer; and c) exposing the article to water by submersion in water, thereby hydrating the article. A sheet of the at least one photopolymerized polymer has a bending modulus when hydrated of 100 MPa or greater and 2200 MPa or less. Another method includes exposing the orthodontic article to water vapor and hermetically sealing the hydrated orthodontic article in a container. Hydrated orthodontic articles are also provided, including an orthodontic article that is prepared according to one of the methods. The present disclosure further provides kits, including an orthodontic article and instructions for exposing the orthodontic article to water to hydrate the orthodontic article, as well as including a hydrated orthodontic article hermetically sealed in a container.

DEVICE FOR STORING ORTHODONTIC PLIERS
20210267737 · 2021-09-02 ·

A device to store at least one set of orthodontic pliers. The device includes a case consisting of a material which is impenetrable to light and at least one storage housing. The storage housing includes a flap mounted to move rotatably between a closing position and an opening position. In the closing position, the flap creates an insertion opening and in the opening position, the flap is at a distance from the storage housing and provides access thereto. A holder comprises a narrowing formed in the storage housing or in the region of the insertion opening, by the cooperation of the inner surface of the storage housing and the flap in the closing position.

Assemblies, methods, and kits including a compressible material

The present invention provides assemblies, kits, and methods including a compressible material. Optionally, a hardenable dental composition (e.g., an adhesive or primer) is in contact with the compressible material for bonding a dental article (e.g., an orthodontic appliance) to a tooth structure. Removal of excess hardenable and/or hardened dental composition, if desired, can be facilitated for embodiments in which the hardenable dental composition is an unfilled or a lightly filled composition.
