Orthodontic appliance with snap fitted, non-sliding archwire
An orthodontic appliance may include an archwire and multiple orthodontic brackets. The archwire may fit within a human mouth and contain multiple male connectors. Each orthodontic bracket may have a configuration that facilitates attaching the orthodontic bracket to a single tooth. Each orthodontic bracket may allow one of the male connectors to be locked into the orthodontic bracket with a snapping action. The male connector may be unable to slide with respect to the orthodontic bracket after being locked in the orthodontic bracket. A manual unlocking action may allow the male connector to disengage from the orthodontic bracket.

System of manufacturing orthodontic wire, method for manufacturing the orthodontic wire using the same, and orthodontic wire bending machine for performing the same
In a system of manufacturing an orthodontic wire, a method for manufacturing the orthodontic wire using the system, and an orthodontic wire bending machine for performing the system, the system includes a teeth data obtaining part, a simulating part, a calculating part and a wire manufacturing part. The teeth data obtaining part obtains present teeth data of a patient. The simulating part generates final teeth data. The calculating part compares a predetermined threshold to a compared value between the present teeth data of the patient and the final teeth data. The wire manufacturing part selectively manufactures a wire for an orthodontic process or a wire for a dentition maintenance process based on a compared result of the calculating part.

METHOD OF MAKING AN ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an orthodontic appliance, including the following steps: producing a scanned image of a row of teeth in an initial position; then in a position sought; then producing of a scanned image of the orthodontic appliance, the appliance including an orthodontic arch and at least one fastening element for attachment to a tooth. The orthodontic device is configured for being assembled to the row of teeth in the initial position, so that the arch will take a planar shape when the row has moved into the position sought. The method further includes the following steps: producing a scanned image of the orthodontic arch in the planar shape; then manufacturing the arch from the image by cutting a plate of solid shape memory material.

Orthodontic lip advancer
A lip advancer is presented for preventing proclining or tipping forward of the lower incisors that causes relapse and gingival recession in retention with forward intermaxillary elastic traction that extends diagonally from posterior bracket hooks in the lower arch anchored to hooks on upper anchorage appliances. In one embodiment, the lip advancer is comprised of an invisible clear liner type plastic retainer for use with a dental arch, and a bumper extending labially from the retainer for pressing against the patient's lip causing the lip muscles to react pushing back with an opposite force thus preventing the anterior teeth from flaring labially. In another embodiment, for use with a plurality of brackets and an archwire, the lip advancer comprises an auxiliary archwire extending from and in contact with the brackets, and a bumper formed on the auxiliary archwire for applying pressure labially to a corresponding lip.

Method and apparatus for generating dental data suitable for manufacturing a dental aligner
The method for generating dental data suitable for manufacturing of a dental aligner, includes storing 3D scan data of a dental arch, determining (140) a curve in an occlusal plane, determining a positioning of the nodes of the teeth of the dental arch on the curve, determining an elevation of the nodes of the teeth of the dental arch, and determining an orientation of the teeth of the dental arch; said manufacturing data are calculated at least on the basis of the 3D scan data as well as the determined positioning, the determined elevation, and the determined orientation.
