Dental abutment screw extractor
Described herein are systems and methods for extracting a broken fragment of a dental abutment screw from a dental implant. One such system includes an extractor tool having a tubular outer body and a conductor positioned within the tubular outer body, and an applicator that receives and end of the extractor tool and also includes a heating element that converts electrical energy into heat that is conducted to the extractor tool to melt a thermoplastic adhesive in a cavity at the distal end of the extractor tool, such that the melted thermoplastic adhesive can conform to and engage with a broken fragment of a dental abutment screw within a dental implant when the adhesive cools. The extractor tool can then be rotated to unscrew the broken fragment from the dental implant.
Dental implement
A dental implement is disclosed that includes a proximal end portion; a distal end portion that includes a cutting head defining at least one cutting surface; and a guide body that is positioned proximally of the cutting head. The guide body defines at least one flute that extends in generally parallel relation to a longitudinal axis of the dental implement and is configured to direct irrigation fluid to a surgical site within a patient.
Fixation base and guides for dental prosthesis installation
Apparatus and method for installing a multi-tooth dental prosthesis in one session are shown and described. A first tool attaches to the jawbone, and serves as a foundation for subsequently used guides. Existing teeth and dental fixtures are removed, and the bone tissue is removed to accommodate the prosthesis. Subsequently, a drill guide is used to drill implant holes. An abutment guide is then used to place abutments. Copings are then installed. Next, the prosthesis may be installed and cemented to the copings. A resinous filler material may be applied to fill gaps and holes in and between the copings and the prosthesis, and is sanded smooth.
APPARATUS FOR FACILITATING ACQUISITION OF A SCAN AND AN INTRAORAL SCANNING PROCEDURE
The present invention comprises an apparatus for facilitating the acquisition of a scan during an intraoral scanning procedure using an intraoral scanner, including: an elongate body having an attachment portion configured to attach the elongate body with an implant in a patient's mouth, the implant having a longitudinal axis, whereby the elongate body is adapted to extend substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the implant when mounted to the implant; the elongate body having a substantially planar upper surface and one or more side walls extending downwardly away from the upper surface; wherein the upper surface and the one or more side walls are observable in a resulting scan when the intraoral scanner scans the apparatus in a direction perpendicular to the upper surface.
The invention extends to a kit including a plurality of items of the apparatus and to a method of performing an intraoral scanning procedure.
Customized Dental Prosthesis for Periodontal or Osseointegration, and Related Systems
A dental prosthesis to be integrated into a jaw bone cavity of a pre-identified patient. An example of a dental prosthesis includes a first manufactured portion having a surface shaped to substantially dimensionally conform three dimensionally to an undersized shape of the outer three-dimensional surface shape of a root of a tooth to be replaced, and a second manufactured portion shaped to substantially conform to the three-dimensional surface of a crown of the tooth. The outer surface of the root portion can include or be coated with a biocompatible material that is suitable to be integrated into the extraction socket and adopted by existing tissue forming the socket.
APPARATUS AND METHOD OF AN OSTEOTOMY FOR DENTAL IMPLANT
The present disclosure relates to a method of manufacture of a dental implant for a molar, including acquiring, structural data corresponding to bones of the facial skeleton, the bones of the facial skeleton being proximate the molar, selecting, as a dental implant fixation surface, a surface of the bones based upon a determined thickness of the bones, generating, based on the selected dental implant fixation surface, a contoured surface of the dental implant, and fabricating, based upon an instruction transmitted by processing circuitry, a bone plate extending from a buccal end of a cylindrical plate of the dental implant, the cylindrical plate having support lattices extending therefrom, at least one support lattice of the support lattices being arranged on a lingual end of the cylindrical plate, the cylindrical plate having an opening in a central region thereof, the opening being configured to receive a dental post.
Dental component and a dental implant
A dental component comprising a fixture engagement portion for engaging the dental component with a dental fixture adapted to be inserted into a jawbone or for engaging the dental component with a fixture replica.
Autografting tool with enhanced flute profile and methods of use
Tools and methods for expanding a precursor hole in a host material to receive a fixture. The precursor hole is enlarged by a rotary tool having helical flutes and interposed lands. The flutes have a negative rake angle. The lands each have a working edge that cuts the host material when the tool is rotated in a cutting direction, and that condenses the host material when the tool is rotated in a densifying direction. The body of the rotary tool has a stopper section that plugs the hole when a certain depth is reached. When the tool is used with a copious wash of irrigating fluid at or below the necessary depth, hydraulic pressure builds inside the precursor hole. The hydraulic pressure can be advantageously exploited in cutting mode to autograft a slurry of host material particles into the sidewalls of the hole and create an incipient densifying crust.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING DENTAL ARTICLE INFORMATION BASED ON UHF RFID
The present invention relates to a method and a system for managing dental article information based on a UHF RFID, and more particularly, to a method and a system for managing dental article information based on a UHF RFID, capable of automatically monitoring a location, a stock, and an expiration date of an article used by medical staffs of a dental clinic without an additional action of the medical staff, and providing information and a notification related to a dental article to the medical staffs of the dental clinic.
BONE FOUNDATION GUIDE SYSTEM AND METHOD
The invention could comprise a bone foundation guide system and a method for same, the bone foundation guide system having a bone foundation guide comprising a body that is contoured to reversibly affix to a bone segment of a dental implant surgical site, the body being further contoured accept and to guide the cutting of a portion of the bone segment from a dental implant surgical site and as well as to alternatively support a dental implant surgical guide; the dental implant surgical guide; and a bone foundation guide prosthesis as an alternative to the dental implant surgical guide, the bone foundation guide prosthesis combines with the body to accommodate the bone segment portion as placed through the body prior to the bone segment portion being removed from the dental implant site through the use of the body.
