Dental bridge fitting system
The dental bridge fitting system is a medical device. The dental bridge fitting system is configured for use in measuring the oral surface contours of a patient. The measurements taken by the dental bridge fitting system allow for the fabrication of a dental prosthetic device, such as a bridge, that fits flush on the oral surface that was measured by the dental bridge fitting system. The dental bridge fitting system comprises a mouthpiece, a plurality of capture devices, an image processor, and a master processor. The mouthpiece contains the plurality of capture devices. The plurality of capture devices, the image processor, and the master processor are electrically interconnected.
Dental appliance having selective occlusal loading and controlled intercuspation
Methods and apparatus for producing controlled tooth-moving forces are provided. An orthodontic appliance includes one or more occlusal surface features that modify bite forces between opposing teeth during intercuspation to aid in realignment of the teeth. The interception bite forces can be applied between appliance shells on opposing arches, or between an appliance shell and an opposing tooth. These modified bite forces can be used to supply or augment tooth-moving forces, and the tooth moving forces can produce moments to urge rotational movement of a tooth. Also described herein are orthodontic appliances having an occlusal outer surface contours that are distinct from the occlusal inner surface contour within the dental appliance and may be configured to selectively intercuspate.
Device and method for measuring a movement of a mandible
The disclosure relates to a system for recording, transferring and simulating a relative position and/or movement of a mandible relative to a maxilla, comprising: a transmitter coil for transmitting a magnetic measurement field; at least one sensor placed on the mandible and arranged in at least one holding device having a position marking for the sensor; a sensor positioning device provided for setting the axis-orbital plane and condylar points and comprising at least one sensor for capturing and emitting positional data; a data set of a relative movement of a mandible relative to a maxilla, the data set is generated from the sensor signals of the at least one sensor arranged on the mandible and from the positional data from the sensor signals from the sensor positioning device; and a computer for recording, processing and displaying the movement data from the data set from the sensors.
Photo of a patient with new simulated smile in an orthodontic treatment review software
A computer-implemented method for generating a virtual depiction of an orthodontic treatment of a patient is disclosed herein. The computer-implemented method may involve gathering a three-dimensional (3D) model modeling the patient's dentition at a specific treatment stage of an orthodontic treatment plan. An image of the patient's face and dentition may be gathered. A first set of reference points modeled on the 3D model of the patient's dentition and a second set of reference points represented on the dentition of the image of the patient may be received. The image of the patient's dentition may be projected into a 3D space to create a projected 3D model of the image of the patient's dentition. Based on a comparison of the first reference points and projections of the second set of reference points, a plurality of modified images of the patient may be constructed to depict progressive stages of a treatment plan.
System and method for fabricating a dental restoration
A system for fabricating a dental restoration to restore a tooth at a restoration site in a dentition of a patient is disclosed. The dentition includes a restoration dental arch and an opposing dental arch. The restoration dental arch include the restoration site and the opposing dental arch is opposite the restoration dental arch. The system includes an impression apparatus, a motion capture apparatus, an interface apparatus, and a restoration design system. The impression apparatus is configured to capture an impression of the dentition of the patient. The motion capture apparatus is configured to capture a plurality of location data points that represent the locations of the opposing dental arch relative to the restoration dental arch. The interference model generation system is configured to generate an interference model for the restoration site. The restoration design system is for designing a restoration using the interference model.
Determining Spatial Relationship Between Upper Teeth and Facial Skeleton
A computer-implemented method includes receiving a 3D model representative of upper teeth (U1) of a patient (P) and receiving a plurality of images of a face of the patient (P). The method also includes generating a facial model (200) of the patient based on the received plurality of images and determining, based on the determined facial model (200), the received 3D model of 10 the upper teeth (U1) and the plurality of images, a spatial relationship between the upper teeth (U1) of the patient (P) and a facial skeleton of the patient (P).
REMOVABLE DENTAL PROSTHESIS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAID REMOVABLE DENTAL PROSTHESIS
Method of fabricating a dental prosthesis (1), intended to fill an area of a first jaw, the first jaw being an identical reproduction of at least one part of an edentulous jaw (4) of an individual, the area being capable of receiving at least one tooth (3), the first jaw incorporating a protruding element (11), the method comprising: a first step of depositing the first portion (5) of a material on the area of the first jaw, in such a way that the first portion of deposited material can be hooked to the projecting element, the material being capable of preserving its shape after deposit; a step of attaching the tooth to the first portion of the deposited material.
Scanning dental impressions
Systems and methods are provided for scanning a dental impression to obtain a digital model of a patient's dentition as an input to computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) methods for producing dental prostheses.
Stable winged affixation system for guided dental implantation
A stable affixation system for dental implantation includes a fixation tray having, for rapid placement, a housing defining a chamber whose inner surface is configured to house a flowable or malleable material and be placed over one or more teeth during guided dental implantation surgery. A central portion not configured to flex is situated between housing side walls. Each such side wall has an upper side portion and a lower side portion. Without the lock a squeezing force on the upper side portions flexes the lower side portions outward. The lock urges the upper side portions outward so as to flex the lower side portions inward. The lock reduces or eliminates freedom of movement of the tray. The system allows rapid removal and is sturdy enough to withstand forces including from various angles and leverage. The central portion may hold registration elements.
DENTAL IMPRESSION MATERIAL AND COMBINATION IMPRESSION MATERIAL
A dental impression material for use in a combination impression method includes a base material paste containing an alginate and water, a gelling agent, and a curing material paste containing a water-insoluble liquid compound, wherein a consistency of a kneaded material formed of the base material paste and the curing material paste is 36 mm or more, and a compressive strength of a cured body is 0.35 MPa or more.
