MONITORING OF DENTITION

A method for acquiring at least one two-dimensional image of a part of arches of a patient includes steps carried out by the patient or other person who is not a dental health professional, for example, including placing a dental separator in the mouth of the patient in order to separate the lips of the patient and improve the visibility of the teeth during the acquisition of said at least one two-dimensional image, and acquiring, in a mouth closed position and with a personal image acquisition apparatus, said at least one two-dimensional image.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING A DENTAL TRAY
20230049287 · 2023-02-16 · ·

According to an embodiment, a method for generating a digital data set for fabricating a physical dental bleaching tray useable to deliver an bleaching agent is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a three-dimensional digital representation of a patient’s dentition including teeth and gingiva; segmenting two or more teeth into individual tooth; identifying a facial surface of at least one of the segmented tooth; defining a facial surface portion including a surface area that is at least partly bound by a virtual boundary that is non- interfacing with the gingiva; generating a modified three-dimensional digital representation using the defined facial surface portion; and generating, based on the modified three-dimensional digital representation, the digital data set configured to be used in fabricating the physical dental bleaching tray.

A method for supplementing scan data by using library data according to the present invention comprises: a scan step of acquiring scan data of a subject including a structure; a step of selecting library model data corresponding to the structure; and a step of post-processing the scan data, wherein the library model data is added at the step of post-processing of the scan data and is post-processed together with the scan data. Accordingly, the scan data in which distortion or a data gap has occurred is supplemented by the library model data, and thus a user acquires a highly reliable three-dimensional model.

DENTAL PROCEDURES

The present teachings relate to a method for processing a digital dental impression comprising: displaying an image of the digital dental impression; wherein the image comprises: a shaded region representative of a part of the oral anatomy which is relevant for a dental procedure, and the shaded region being enclosed within a boundary; and an unshaded region representative of a part of the oral anatomy which is not relevant for a dental procedure, wherein the unshaded region and the shaded region are separated from each another by the boundary, receiving user input for altering the shaded region and/or unshaded region; detecting completion of a stroke generated by the user input; altering, the shaded region and/or the unshaded region, in response to the stroke completion. The present teachings also relate to a method for processing digital three-dimensional shapes, a dental procedure assisting system, uses and computer software products.

GINGIVA STRIP PROCESSING USING ASYNCHRONOUS PROCESSING
20230012309 · 2023-01-12 ·

Methods and apparatuses for asynchronously identifying and modeling a gingiva strip from the three-dimensional (3D) dental model of the patient's dentition. These methods may reduce the time required to generate accurate 3D dental models and therefore may reduce and streamline the process of generating dental treatment plans.

HISTORICAL SCAN REFERENCE FOR INTRAORAL SCANS
20180005371 · 2018-01-04 ·

During an intraoral scan session, a processing device receives a plurality of intraoral images of a dental site. The processing device determines that a historical template of the dental site is existent and registers a first intraoral image of the plurality of intraoral images to the historical template at a first region of the dental site depicted in the historical template. The processing device may register one or more remaining intraoral images of the plurality of intraoral images to the historical template at a second region of the dental site depicted in the historical template. The first region may be separated from the second region.

Customized Dental Prosthesis for Periodontal or Osseointegration, and Related Systems
20180008213 · 2018-01-11 ·

A dental prosthesis to be integrated into a jaw bone cavity of a pre-identified patient. An example of a dental prosthesis includes a first manufactured portion having a surface shaped to substantially dimensionally conform three dimensionally to an undersized shape of the outer three-dimensional surface shape of a root of a tooth to be replaced, and a second manufactured portion shaped to substantially conform to the three-dimensional surface of a crown of the tooth. The outer surface of the root portion can include or be coated with a biocompatible material that is suitable to be integrated into the extraction socket and adopted by existing tissue forming the socket.

Systems and methods are disclosed for processing and storing acquired data relating to one or more dental conditions. The methods can include acquiring a first oral feature in a first data acquisition using a data acquisition device, determining a first oral feature first reference point from the first data acquisition, diagnosing a first dental condition upon confirming that the first oral feature first reference point is associated with the first dental condition, acquiring the first oral feature in a second data acquisition using the data acquisition device, determining a first oral feature second reference point from the second data acquisition, and tracking the progression of the first dental condition by determining a discrepancy between the first oral feature first and second reference points.

INTRAORAL 3D SCANNING WITH AUTOMATIC CHARTING
20230000600 · 2023-01-05 ·

A method for intraoral imaging generates one or more output imaging signals from an intraoral probe and acquires multimodal image content from intraoral surface locations according to tissue response from the one or more imaging signals and associates spatial coordinates to the acquired multimodal image content. A surface contour of the patient dentition is generated by stitching the acquired multimodal image content and preserving the association of spatial coordinates with the stitched multimodal image content. Tooth outlines for one or more teeth are generated from the generated surface contour and the generated outlines arranged as a dental chart representing a spatial ordering of the one or more teeth and of supporting gum tissue adjacent to the teeth. The dental chart is populated by analyzing the acquired multimodal image content and associating the analysis to positions on the dental chart according to the preserved association of spatial coordinates and is displayed.
