Method and apparatus for detection of estrus and optimal time for embryo transfer or artificial insemination in animals
11617352 · 2023-04-04 ·

An apparatus and methods for detection of estrus and optimal time for embryo transfer or artificial insemination in animals. An arched polycarbonate housing is attached to an animal. A circuit board is disposed within the housing. A rechargeable battery mounted on the circuit board provides power to the apparatus. A switch mounted on the circuit board is actuated when a breeding behavior occurs. A controller mounted on the circuit board detects actuations of the switch to generate data indicative of breeding behavior. A transmitter transmits data indicative of breeding behavior to a remote receiver.

SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING THE REPRODUCTIVE ACTIVITY OF ANIMALS

The invention relates to a system for monitoring the reproductive activity of animals where a male mounts a female in order to mate, this system can determine the following information each time a male mounts a female, namely: whether or not the male has ejaculated, the date and time of ejaculation, and the identification of the female mounted. The system comprises an electronic sensor device placed on male animals, a radio-frequency identification tag placed on female animals, a system for preventing multiple or erroneous readings, and an electronic hand-held device for collecting information and configuring devices. The invention also includes a communication system and a central system that manages and concentrates all of the information, allowing the user to access said information in an organised, centralized and systematic manner.

SENSING AND INTEGRATING DATA OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS IN ANIMAL RESEARCH

Disclosed are various embodiments for sensing and integrating data of environmental conditions in animal research. A collection device having a bracket is removably mounted to a cage. The collection device includes a sensor array that captures audio content or environmental measurements. A micro-environment monitor of the collection device can process the audio content to determine that audible or ultrasonic vocalizations of an animal are present. The micro-environment monitor sends data based at least in part on the audio content or environmental measurements to a computing environment.

DETECTION SYSTEM FOR MOUNT THROUGH INTRACORPORAL COMMUNICATIONS (IBC)

A system for detecting mount events in animals, which uses the technique of intrabody (IBC) signal transmission is provided. The system is has a fundamental unit dispensed in each animal, which has an electronic box fastened to the neck of each animal through a collar and mainly formed by four modules: 1) processor, 2) sensor; 3) IBC (Intra-Body Communication) transceiver, 4) RF (radiofrequency) transceiver. The process for detecting the mount event with the system disclosed herein is also provided.

Method, system and apparatus for detecting when an animal is in heat

This invention relates to a method, system and apparatus for detecting when an animal is in heat. The invention further relates to a method of alerting a responsible individual that the animal is in heat. The method for detecting when an animal is in heat comprises the steps of, using a sensor mounted on a bull, monitoring the activity of the bull in the proximity of the animal. Thereafter, the activity of the bull is analysed before finally it is determined, based on the analysed activity of the bull, whether or not the animal is in heat. The invention shifts the focus from the animal, such as a cow, to the bull and leans on the natural instincts of the bull to determine when the cow is in heat. By implementing such a system, a more reliable and/or less expensive system than many of the existing offerings is provided.

Animal condition indication assembly

An animal condition indication assembly includes a panel with a plurality of layers. The panel includes a first edge, a second edge, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The layers include an adhesive to be attached to a first animal. A substrate has an upper surface and a lower surface and the adhesive is positioned on the lower surface to adhesively secure the substrate to a rump of the first animal. An intermediate layer is positioned on the upper surface and includes a first color permanently affixed to the substrate. The first color is UV fluorescent. A flood coat is removably positioned on and covers the intermediate layer. Portions of the flood coat are removed by a second animal upon mounting of the first animal by the second animal. The flood coat is opaque and has a different color than the intermediate layer.
