20230049597 · 2023-02-16 ·

A device, system and related methods to provide assessment and treatment of amblyaudia through standardized methods that do not require advanced training or a booth with loudspeakers for the operator to administer. The ARIA stimuli protocols for both assessment and treatment, encoded in or to be used by a software program or application, are transferred to a stand-alone set of specialized noise-cancelling headphones attached or connected to, wired or wirelessly, a software platform on an electronic computing device. or integrated with the headphones. The program administers assessment tests to individuals through the noise-cancelling earphones. The device enables someone with minimal instructions to administer automatically or semi-automatically both assessment and treatment protocols, generate results, make interpretations, store data, and produce reports. The device or system may be loaded with standard protocols for English-speaking individuals, as well as dichotic speech material in any language.

HEARING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM COMPRISING AN EEG-RECORDING AND ANALYSIS SYSTEM

A hearing assistance system comprises an input unit for providing electric input sound signals u.sub.i, each representing sound signals U.sub.i from a multitude n.sub.u of sound sources S.sub.i, an electroencephalography (EEG) system for recording activity of the auditory system of the user's brain and providing a multitude n.sub.y of EEG signals y.sub.j, and a source selection processing unit receiving said electric input sound signals u.sub.i and said EEG signals y.sub.j, and in dependence thereof configured to provide a source selection signal Ŝ.sub.x indicative of the sound source S.sub.x that the user currently pays attention to using a selective algorithm that determines a sparse model to select the most relevant EEG electrodes and time intervals based on minimizing a cost function measuring the correlation between the individual sound sources and the EEG signals, and to determine the source selection signal Ŝ.sub.x based on the cost functions obtained for said multitude of sound sources.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AMBIENT NOISE DETECTION, IDENTIFICATION AND MANAGEMENT
20220415301 · 2022-12-29 ·

Examples of system for ambient aversive sound detection, identification and management are described. The system comprises an earpiece device with a microphone configured to capture ambient sound around a user and sample it into small segments of the ambient sound, a speaker and a regulator to regulate the ambient sound segment transmitted to the speaker. The system further comprises a processing unit that identifies aversive ambient sound signals in the captured sound segment and provide recommendation action to manage the aversive sound signal by removing, supressing, attenuating or masking the aversive signals.

Seamless listen-through for a wearable device

Methods, systems, and devices for signal processing are described. Generally, as provided for by the described techniques, a wearable device may receive an input audio signal (e.g., including both an external signal and a self-voice signal). The wearable device may detect the self-voice signal in the input audio signal based on a self-voice activity detection (SVAD) procedure, and may implement the described techniques based thereon. The wearable device may perform beamforming operations or other separation procedures to isolate the external signal and the self-voice signal from the input audio signal. The wearable device may apply a first filter to the external signal, and a second filter to the self-voice signal. The wearable device may then mix the filtered signals, and generate an output signal that sounds natural to the user.
