AN ADHESIVE BODY DRESSING AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN ADHESIVE BODY DRESSING
20230038483 · 2023-02-09 ·

An adhesive body dressing includes a hydrocolloid adhesive layer (H) and a backing layer (B) provided on a first side of the hydrocolloid adhesive layer (H). The backing layer (B) is made of biodegradable polymer material.

BARRIER LAYER

A barrier layer and corresponding method of making provide anti-inflammatory, non-inflammatory, and anti-adhesion functionality for a medical device implantable in a patient. The barrier layer can be combined with a medical device structure to provide anti-adhesion characteristics, in addition to improved healing, non-inflammatory, and anti-inflammatory response. The barrier layer is generally formed of a naturally occurring oil, or an oil composition formed in part of a naturally occurring oil, that is at least partially cured forming a cross-linked gel. In addition, the oil composition can include a therapeutic agent component, such as a drug or other bioactive agent.

BANDAGES

A bandage can be made oversized in width and length with a thick absorbent pad to provide pressure to the wound. The bandage provides a one-step procedure for wounds that need pressure and protection. The individually wrapped bandage is taken from a sterile wrapper to the wound so there is no worry of infection. Pull tabs make the bandage application a sterile procedure. Another bandage has a hard or semi hard cover with optional vent holes incorporated for air circulation. The bandage protects a wound or stitches or any delicate skin problem from being bumped or damaged from ordinary daily labors. The cover can have no pad in it or it can have a pad that can have nothing in it or can have anti-bacterial ointment, or the like, to help fight infection.

Protective dressing with reusable phase-change material cooling insert

A protective dressing includes an outer dressing and an adhesive layer. The outer dressing includes an opening and a cavity sized to receive a phase-change material (PCM) insert inserted through the opening. The adhesive layer is configured to adhere to a patient's skin surrounding an anatomic site. When adhered to the patient's skin, the PCM insert modifies the patient's skin at the anatomic site. The PCM insert may be removed and replaced with another PCM insert. For example, a warm PCM insert may be replaced with a refrigerated PCM insert. The opening of the outer dressing may be self-sealing. The opening of the outer dressing may be sealed with an upper layer dressing coupled to the PCM cooling insert.

Devices and methods for skin tightening

The methods, procedures, kits, and devices described herein assist with the healing process of tissue that was previously or simultaneously treated for a therapeutic or cosmetic effect. The methods, procedures, kits, and devices described herein can also provide temporary simulated results of a cosmetic procedure to allow for visual assessment to select the type of procedure or for treatment planning in advance of the surgical procedure.

CONTROLLED OXYGEN DRESSING

A controlled oxygen dressing includes a flexible drape that is selectively permeable to air and is adhere to skin to define a first volume around a tissue site. A cover layer, impermeable to air, is sealed to the drape to thereby define a second volume between the cover layer the drape. An oxygen scavenger is arranged in the second volume and consumes oxygen in the second volume, which produces an oxygen concentration differential between the first and second volumes, This differential causes oxygen to diffuse through a covered portion of the drape, from the first volume to the second volume, thus decreasing the amount of oxygen in the first volume. Oxygen entering into the first volume from the surrounding environment diffuses through a non-covered portion of the drape. Therefore, an area of the cover layer can be selected to produce a desired level of oxygen in the first volume.

Flexible adhesive physio tape with thermal properties
11540951 · 2023-01-03 ·

A flexible adhesive kinesiology/physio tape adapted to produce heat from the exothermic oxidation when exposed to air. The inventive tape includes a layer of porous material with iron and salt disposed therein. In the best mode, the layer is flexible and self-adhesive. A layer of plastic is included to inhibit oxidation prior to application and use. In a preferred embodiment, the inventive flexible adhesive tape includes a first layer of flexible adhesive high quality porous fabric; a second layer of flexible adhesive high quality porous fabric; and the layer of flexible exothermic material, sandwiched between the first and second layers. The third layer can be fabricated with cellulose, iron, water, activated carbon, vermiculite and salt or fabricated with a mixture of chemical salt in dry crystal form with water. Or any other chemical mixture that creates an exothermic reaction.

Scar reduction bandage

The invention relates to an easy-to-use scar reduction bandage (or sticking plaster), that can be used in the case of hypertrophic scars and keloids. The invention offers a qualitatively even treatment over months by the permanent pressure achieved by the integrated scar bandage and spring. The effect can be strengthened or altered by the differing materials of upper and lower carrier sheets. Likewise, and at the same time, a supplemental treatment can be initiated by so-called storage structures in the base of the spring.

MEDICAL DEVICE

A medical device, comprising a plastic film and a support structure, wherein the plastic film, per se, has insufficient intrinsic stability to retain a planar shape against standard gravity, the support structure supports an area of the plastic film such that at least 80% of an entire area of the plastic film is inhibited from deforming, regardless of orientation, in response to standard gravity, and the support structure is manually inseparable from the plastic film.

APPARATUS TO PERFORM AN ALLERGEN DIAGNOSTIC
20220370000 · 2022-11-24 ·

Multi-layer contact patches, as well as related apparatus, kits, systems, and methods, enable improved allergen testing and diagnosis. Multi-layer contact patches include a shield layer releasably coupled to an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer at least partially defines and is fixably coupled to an allergen complex layer. The allergen complex layer defines a plurality of allergen complex cavities. At least a subset of the allergen complex cavities include an allergen complex positioned therein, each allergen complex comprising an absorbent matrix and an allergen.
