COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING TEXTURED PATTERNS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME

The invention provides method of guiding unidirectional movement of a cell comprising exposing the cell to a surface comprising an asymmetric, three-dimensional pattern of one or a plurality of topographical elements for a time period sufficient to bias actin polymerization within the cell. The invention also provides methods of inducing directional movement of a cell, and methods of harnessing an actin wave within a cell. In addition, the invention provides compositions comprising a contact side, wherein at least a portion of the contact side comprises a cell contact portion comprising an asymmetric, three-dimensional pattern of one or a plurality of topographical elements, and methods of inducing healing of a wound of a subject comprising contacting the wound with the composition.

WIRELESS PRESSURE ULCER ALERT DRESSING SYSTEM
20170281073 · 2017-10-05 ·

A wireless pressure ulcer alert dressing system for warning a patient or caregiver that soft tissue pressure or health condition has exceeded some predetermined level that over time would necessitate moving the patient to prevent or at least reduce a risk of soft tissue damage. The dressing assembly is adapted to be applied to or near a surface of the patient's body and generate electrical outputs corresponding to soft tissue pressure and other health characteristics sensed at the surface. The dressing assembly generates output signals based on the electrical outputs and corresponding to whether or not the soft tissue pressure has exceeded a predetermined pressure level during the preselected time period. The dressing assembly includes a pocket formed therein for removable, secured and protected insertion of a variety of different sensors such as multiple pressure sensors.

Bandage For Applying Arterial Pressure

A hemostasis device comprises a panel having a top side and a bottom side having an adhesive layer coupled to the panel. A button, having a 3-dimensional shape, is integrally molded to the top side of the panel. One or more apertures extend through the button and the panel. A pad joined to the panel by the adhesive layer. The button is engaged to a wound by a user and adapted to provide a force vector in a substantially axial direction to the wound. A method for imparting hemostasis comprises the steps of selecting an arterial pressure device then positioning the button with the one or more apertures over a wound. Retaining the device over the wound imparts a force vector in a substantially axial direction to the wound and results in more rapid blood coagulation.

Skin treatment devices and methods with pre-stressed configurations

Devices, bandages, kits and methods are described that can control or regulate the mechanical environment of a wound to ameliorate scar and/or keloid formation. The mechanical environment of a wound includes stress, strain, and any combination of stress and strain. The control of a wound's mechanical environment can be active, passive, dynamic, or static. The devices are configured to be removably secured to a skin surface in proximity to the wound site and shield the wound from endogenous and/or exogenous stress.

Tissue healing

A system, method, and apparatus are disclosed for dressing a wound and for minimizing scarring. The apparatus promotes scar-minimizing healing of a wound where negative pressure wound therapy is applied, and comprises a wound contact layer containing silicone, polysiloxanes, or other related compounds.

Extensible dressings

The present invention relates to dressings such as bandages improved extensibility. The present invention further relates to dressings comprising an absorbent body and backing layer having improved extensibility.
