Oxygen therapy with fluid removal
An apparatus for treating a tissue site includes a dressing, an oxygen source, a valve, and a negative-pressure source. The dressing is configured to be sealed around the tissue site. The oxygen source is fluidly coupled to the dressing and configured to provide a low flow of oxygen. A first port of the valve is fluidly coupled to the dressing and the valve moves between a closed position preventing flow through the valve and an open position permitting flow through the valve. The negative-pressure source is fluidly coupled to a second port of the valve and provides negative pressure to the second port of the valve at a non-therapeutic level. The valve separates the negative-pressure source from the dressing and selectively opens when a positive pressure is applied on an upstream side of the valve.
FLEXIBLE ABSORBENT BANDAGE
A bandage includes a top film, an absorbent layer and a perforated adhesive lower layer positioned under the absorbent layer for adhering the bandage to a user's skin. The absorbent layer includes at least one incision that improves the flexibility of the bandage.
DEVICE FOR USE WITH INGROWN TOENAIL RELIEF
A bandage is provided having a flexible and wrapable bandage strip coated on one side with pressure sensitive adhesive, and on the same side as the pressure sensitive adhesive a compressible and expandable composition retaining well having an aperture configured to receive a medicated gel composition is affixed at its base about midway along a length of the strip; wherein the composition retaining well at rest is about 3 millimeters to 10 millimeters in height from its base to the aperture and having sides sloping towards the aperture of about 30 degrees to about 80 degrees. In one embodiment the strip and the composition retaining well can be integral. The composition retaining well can be compressible from about 20 to 80 percent of its height at rest. The composition retaining well can be made from an inert material and made of any suitable moisture-blocking material.
Devices and methods for preventing localized pressure points in distribution components for tissue therapy
Apparatuses and dressing components for tissue treatment with negative pressure and methods of making and using the dressings and dressing components are disclosed. For example, an apparatus for managing fluid from a tissue site may comprise at least two fluid pathways formed along the length of the apparatus. The apparatus may have at least one hinge line spanning along the length of the apparatus between at the at least two fluid pathways, and the apparatus may be curved about the hinge line. Some examples of the apparatus may comprise multiple layers assembled in a stacked relationship, which may be bonded together using weld lines to define at least two fluid pathways along the length of the apparatus. In some examples, the apparatus may be curved about the weld lines.
MULTI-LAYER WOUND DRESSING ASSEMBLIES
A multi-layer wound dressing comprises a carrier film comprising a transparent material or a semi-transparent material, and an adhesive layer comprising a silicone-based material and in contact with the carrier film and exhibiting a tackiness formulated and configured to decrease over a duration of time. Related multi-layer wound dressings are also disclosed.
WEARABLE MEDICAL DEVICES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
According to one aspect, a medical device may be configured to couple to a body. The medical device may comprise a material layer; a plurality of adhesive layers coupled to the material layer and configured to couple to a user's skin, wherein each adhesive layer of the plurality of adhesive layers includes a plurality of micro passages; a channel extending between two adjacent adhesive layers of the plurality of adhesive layers; and a superhydrophobic coating covering at least a portion of each of the two adjacent adhesive layers and the material layer forming the channel.
MEDICAL TAPES WITH HIGH OPTICAL CLARITY WHEN OVER-TAPED
Medical tapes include an optically transparent tape backing and an optically transparent adhesive layer, typically a pressure sensitive adhesive, disposed on the backing The tape is optically transparent and has a moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of at least 250 g/m.sup.2 /24 hrs/37° C./100-10% RH using the inverted cup method. The tape remains optically transparent when over-taped, such that a multi-layer tape stack of at least 2 layers of tape are formed.
Scar reduction bandage
The invention relates to an easy-to-use scar reduction bandage (or sticking plaster), that can be used in the case of hypertrophic scars and keloids. The invention offers a qualitatively even treatment over months by the permanent pressure achieved by the integrated scar bandage and spring. The effect can be strengthened or altered by the differing materials of upper and lower carrier sheets. Likewise, and at the same time, a supplemental treatment can be initiated by so-called storage structures in the base of the spring.
Skin closure devices with self-forming exudate drainage channels
A device for application onto wounds with a liquid rapidly polymerizable adhesive for forming skin closure systems, comprising a thin flexible flat porous tape, preferably a mesh, elongated along a longitudinal axis and having a lower side or wound-facing side and an opposing upper side, a periphery, and central portion in immediate vicinity of the axis; said tape coated or impregnated with an initiator or accelerator of polymerization; said tape having a plurality of elongated traces of soluble pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) disposed on the wound-facing side; said traces covering from about 3% to about 50% of area of said tape and extending from the periphery to the central portion of said tape.
HEALING TAPE
Disclosed is an adhesive wound healing tape comprised of a water vapor permeable backing and adhesive that can be applied over a wound and remain in place throughout the healing process. Preferably, the tape is applied over a wound without gauze bandage or non-stick gauze material and compresses opposing sides of the cut into one another to promote faster healing with a less visible and often invisible scar.
