REUSABLE ELASTIC WOUND CARE DRESSING COVER
A wound care device comprises a cover layer having formed from a stretchable material which has an elastic memory such that upon stretching the first layer will tend to retract to an at-rest position; a layer of adherent on the bottom surface of the cover layer; and a removable release liner removably adhered to the adherent. In use, the wound care device is applied over or adjacent the wound in a stretched/elongated condition extending to be adhered to skin beyond the margins of the wound. The wound care device retracts under its elastic member along lines of tension towards a focal point of lines of tension, thereby drawing the margins of the wound together to stabilize and compress the skin about the wound. The wound care device reduces and absorbs sheer forces directed to the wound that would otherwise disrupt connective tissue of the wound, the device comprising:
MEDICAL ARTICLE FOR THE PROPHYLAXIS OF DECUBITUS ULCERS
The present invention relates to a medical article (10) for the prophylaxis of the formation and/or worsening of decubitus ulcers, containing a compress (12) and a skin contact layer (13), which skin contact layer can adhere to skin to be treated, wherein the compress (12) has a proximal surface and a distal surface and comprises a core (15) and a shell (14) surrounding the core (15); wherein the core (15) has a proximal surface and a distal surface and comprises a nonwoven material, which is composed of fibers and absorbent particles, wherein the compress (12) has a longitudinal direction having a first modulus of elasticity and a transverse direction having a second modulus of elasticity and the first modulus of elasticity is greater than the second modulus of elasticity.
Polymeric film discontinuities in wound closure device
The present disclosure relates to a two-component medical device for closing a wound or incision. The two-component device comprising a first and second component, each comprising an adhesive-backed anchoring member having one edge referred to as the wound edge. The adhesive-backed anchoring members are produced from a polymeric film sheet. Disclosed are instances wherein the adhesive-backed anchoring members are characterized by the presence of one or more discontinuities in the polymeric film sheet.
Laminate patchable to living body
A laminate patchable to a living body and that includes a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for patching to the living body, a substrate layer disposed on a one-side surface in a thickness direction of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and supporting the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and a protecting layer disposed on a one-side surface in the thickness direction of the substrate layer.
AN ADHESIVE BODY DRESSING AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN ADHESIVE BODY DRESSING
An adhesive body dressing includes a hydrocolloid adhesive layer (H) and a backing layer (B) provided on a first side of the hydrocolloid adhesive layer (H). The backing layer (B) is made of biodegradable polymer material.
CONVERTIBLE TISSUE RETRACTOR
An adhesive convertible tissue stabilizer is provided which can be applied preoperatively to a patient to retract tissue to facilitate a medical/surgical procedure. As a perioperative device, the convertible device accepts most, if not all, surgical preparations, enabling the creation of a sterile field. At the completion of the procedure, the convertible device is converted from a perioperative device to a post-operative device by removal of a layer of the convertible device.
DOUBLE COATING FOR WOUND DRESSINGS
A medical dressing is described that includes: a porous layer having a first side and a second side; a first coating extending along at least a portion of the surface area of said first side of said porous layer; a second coating extending along said first side of said porous layer, said second coating comprising a pattern of through openings; wherein said first coating extends along at least those portions of the surface area of said first side of said porous layer that coincide with the through openings of said second coating and wherein said first surface of said second coating extends in a plane (B) that is farther away, in the vertical direction, from the first side of said porous layer, than the corresponding plane (A) defined by the first surface of said first coating.
Hot-melt adhesives with improved adhesion and cohesion
Adhesive hot-melt formulations with a main polymeric component, of at least one isotactic metallocene butene-1 polymer composition, that has a low viscosity, and that has a bimodal composition, directly obtained during polymerization, in two consecutive and separate reaction steps. Moreover, said hot-melts include less than 5% by weight of at least one viscosity modifier that is not solid at room temperature. Such unusually low level of said additives, surprisingly allows to attain substantially improved levels both of high adhesiveness and cohesion. The adhesive hot-melt formulations include less than 5% by weight of a polyethylene wax or of a blend of polyethylene waxes, that characterized by a highly linear/non-branched structure and by an exceptionally low Polydispersity Index. The presence of such peculiar polyethylene waxes, that are partially incompatible with the butene-1 polymer composition, allows to use the disclosed hot-melt formulations even in the presence of fibrous or perforated substrates.
ACRYLIC ADHESIVE SHEET, MEDICAL ADHESIVE TAPE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Provided are: an acrylic adhesive sheet having a porous structure including a plurality of pores and having a water vapor transmission rate of 2,000 g/m.sup.2.Math.24 h to 3,500 g/m.sup.2.Math.24 h at 24° C. and 25% RH, and a porosity of 10% to 60%; and a medical adhesive tape including the same.
