A wound exposure device is disclosed that can be applied to a patient having excessive or redundant tissue (i.e., a panniculus) to retain the excessive or redundant tissue away from (off of) a wound to allow air so that the excessive or redundant tissue will not cover the wound while the wound is healing. The wound exposure device is wearable and highly conformable when applied to a patient to support/hold/retract redundant and/or excessive tissue off or away from a wound site for extended periods of time. The ability to wear the wound exposure device for extended periods of time facilitates better healing of wounds which would otherwise be covered by the redundant flesh.

Certain embodiments according to the invention provide compression articles suitable for a wide variety of uses (e.g., compression socks, athletic garments, etc.). In accordance with certain embodiments, the compression article includes at least two uniform compression regions, including a first uniform compression region having a first compression pressure and a second uniform compression region having a second compression pressure, and at least one transitioning compression region, including a first transitioning compression region positioned between the first and second uniform compression regions. The first transitioning compression region comprises a first end adjacent or proximate to the first uniform compression region and a second end adjacent or proximate to the second uniform compression region. The first transitioning compression region comprises a compression pressure gradient extending from the first end to the second end of the first transitioning compression region.

A system and method for providing a universal wrap that can apply a thermal pack to many different regions of a patient's body. The universal wrap is provided in a standardized form. The medical provider is provided with options to modify the standardized form in order to adapt the wrap to many different applications.

An endoscopy sigmoid support apparatus that includes a primary wrap sized for placement around a subject's lower abdomen. A closing mechanism is provided at the end of the primary wrap to secure the primary wrap around the abdomen of the subject by attaching a first end of the primary wrap to a second portion of the primary wrap. A strap extends from the primary wrap and is configured to extend across at least a portion of the primary wrap and to fasten to a third portion of the primary wrap to adjust the amount of pressure applied by the endoscopy sigmoid support apparatus.

A perineal bandage for preventing and treating tears that occur during childbirth. The perineal bandage may comprise a flexible bandage comprising a first side and a second side, wherein the second side comprises an adhesive configured to adhere the bandage to the skin of a patient. The perineal bandage may further include a plurality of tearing zones that tear before the bandage. The perineal bandage may further include a reinforced region disposed along a portion of a bottom edge of the bandage, wherein the reinforced region requires a greater amount of force to tear than the bandage and the tearing zones.

A gynecological device that corrects a vaginal opening that is large or stretched out without requiring surgery. The stretchable gynecological device includes a main body having a front surface, a rear surface, a first end, a second end, a first edge, a second edge, and an adhesive on the rear surface of the main body. The gynecological device also includes at least two arms having a front surface, a rear surface, a first end, a second end, a first edge and a second edge that extend outwardly from the second edge of the main body. An adhesive is on the rear surface of the arms. To apply the gynecological device, the arms are firmly pressed down to the vaginal vestibule bilaterally, the main body is then pulled up above the clitoral hood and then applied and pressed down across the lower abdomen towards the anterior superior iliac spines.

An apparatus for filling a wound can include an array of at least four truncated ellipsoids interconnected to define at least one fluid path through, for example perpendicular to, the array. The longest principal axis of each ellipsoid may be perpendicular to the array. Each truncated ellipsoid may be a spheroid and/or may include an approximately elliptical contact surface at each contact surface between two interconnected ellipsoids. Each fluid pathway may have four continuously-curved concave sides and may have a parallelogram-shaped cross-section with continuously-curved concave edges. Each of the extending sections includes an adhesive layer on a rearward side thereof. The first section is less elastic than each of the plurality of extending sections.
