A female loop portion for a hook and loop self-adhesive, comprising a film (1) made of at least one thermoplastic and a plurality of filaments (2) which are separate from one another and attached to one of the surfaces of the film, each filament comprising a series of fastening sections (15) and a series of loop sections (4) alternating with the fastening sections, the filaments being attached to the film along the fastening sections while the loop sections are at a distance from the film so as to form loops, and characterized in that a cross-sectional area of one loop section of a filament is less than a cross-sectional area of one fastening section of said one filament.

Fastening member and fastening segment

Provided are a fastening member and a fastening piece for which an unpleasant texture and an incongruous appearance are significantly reduced, and that bring about an integrated feeling with the main body of a disposable article for wearing. A fastening segment includes a hook fastener and a base sheet. A hook height H1 of a hook is set to 45 μm to 150 μm, and a hook sheet thickness T2 is set to 45 μm to 75 μm. When in an L*a*b* color coordinate system, a color difference of L* is ΔL*, a color difference of a* is Δa*, and a color difference of b* is Δb*, a color difference ΔE between the hook fastener and the base sheet calculated using the ΔL*, the Δa* and the Δb*, is less than 5.5.

Needling fibrous webs

Methods for forming a touch fastening material are described as including: providing a lengthwise-incoherent layer of staple fibers supported directly on a bed of bristle tips of a brush; needling the layer of staple fibers by cycling needles through the layer of staple fibers and into the brush; then, while the needled layer of staple fibers remains supported on the brush, fusing portions of the staple fibers by at least partially melting resin of the fibers disposed outside the brush; and then pulling the layer of fibers from the brush as a lengthwise-coherent touch fastening material having exposed fastening loops pulled from between the brush bristles.

Fastener for an absorbent article

An absorbent article includes front and rear portions and a fastener for connecting side edges of the front and rear portions. The fastener includes a grasping element attached to an outer surface of the fastener to provide for grasping by the wearer or caregiver. The grasping element may be formed of flexible material and may have a variety of configurations, including a tube, a flange, a tunnel or a pocket.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH FASTENING SYSTEM

An absorbent article includes a chassis having i) a topsheet, ii) a backsheet comprising a film layer and an outer cover layer, and iii) an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a fastening system, the fastening system having a male fastener and a female fastening material, wherein the female fastening material is comprised of a portion of the outer cover layer that is located in a landing zone area; wherein the film layer and the outer cover layer are joined together through a backsheet adhesive applied in a first pattern; and in the landing zone area, the film layer and the outer cover layer are joined together through an additional LZA adhesive applied in a second pattern.
