INTEGRAL GRAFT INTERBODY DEVICES
An interbody spinal implant including a body portion having a superior side, an inferior side and a lateral side connecting the superior side and the inferior side, at least one of the superior side or the inferior side comprises a bone contacting surface operable to be coupled to an anatomical structure of a patient; and a plurality of uniform features formed in the bone contacting surface, wherein each uniform feature of the plurality of uniform features comprise a planar peak or a round peak and are dimensioned to increase a surface area of the bone contacting surface to promote bone growth.
MOLDABLE MEDICAL MEMBRANE
A moldable medical membrane is provided, which includes a compact layer and a porous layer. The compact layer is formed from a first material. The porous layer is disposed on the compact layer, and the porous layer is formed from a second material. The moldable medical membrane has a moldable temperature range. A melting point of the compact layer is within the moldable temperature range, and a melting point of the porous layer is higher than the moldable temperature range.
SHAPEABLE POROUS METAL IMPLANT
Shapeable porous metal implants and methods for use in various procedures are disclosed. The implants can comprise a shell according to some examples. According to one example, the method can include providing a sheet of highly porous metal material having a porosity of between 55% and 90%, and wrapping the sheet of highly porous metal material around at least a first bone of the patient. Further examples can form the sheet intra-operatively to a desired shape. In an example, the porous metal sheet can be formed of tantalum or tantalum alloys.
ANTERIOR-TO-POSTERIOR UNCINATE JOINT STABILIZER SYSTEMS
A system for stabilizing a cervical spine segment includes a pair of uncinate joint stabilizers for stabilizing a respective pair of uncinate joints. Each uncinate joint stabilizer is elongated along a lengthwise dimension and is configured for placement in the respective uncinate joint with the lengthwise dimension substantially oriented along an anterior-to-posterior direction of the cervical spine segment. Each uncinate joint stabilizer has height configured to define spacing of the respective uncinate joint. Each uncinate joint stabilizer includes a generally cylindrical portion with cylinder axis in the lengthwise dimension. The generally cylindrical portion has threads for threading the uncinate joint stabilizer into the respective uncinate joint along the anterior-to-posterior direction. The threads are interrupted by one or more fenestrations configured to accommodate bone graft material, bone growth, and/or tissue displaced from the respective uncinate joint by the uncinate joint stabilizer.
Biologic preparation and delivery system
A medical compound preparation and delivery system, including a delivery device, the device including a depressible trigger operably coupled to move a plunger; a cartridge releasably coupled to the delivery device, the cartridge defining a lumen therethrough to receive at least a portion of the plunger therein; a receptacle defining a cavity therein for receiving a medical compound; a first tube slidably positionable within the cavity of the receptacle; and a second tube slidably positionable within the first tube, wherein the cartridge is slidably positionable within the second tube.
MODELING DEVICES USED IN GUIDED BONE AND TISSUE REGENERATION
This disclosure describes manufacturing of a device configured to guide bone and tissue regeneration for a bone defect. A method may include receiving a three-dimensional digital model or scan representing an anatomical feature to be repaired, generating a simulated membrane using the three-dimensional model, the simulated membrane being configured to cover the anatomical feature to be repaired, generating a digital two-dimensional flattened version of the simulated membrane, and generating code or instructions configured to cause a three-dimensional printer or milling device to produce a trimming guide that includes an opening corresponding to the flattened version of the simulated membrane and that further includes a cut-out configured to hold a premanufactured membrane. The trimming guide may be operative as a guide for marking or cutting the premanufactured membrane through the opening while the premanufactured membrane is held in the cut-out.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING BONE FRACTURES
Provided herein are compositions and methods for treating bone fractures. In particular, provided herein are systems comprising carbon fiber sleeves and biocompatible polymers and the use of such systems in treating or preventing bone fractures.
AUTONOMOUSLY GROWING IMPLANTABLE DEVICE
An implantable, autonomously growing medical device is disclosed. The device may have an outer, braided outer element that holds an inner core. Degradation and/or softening of the inner core permits the outer element to elongate, allowing the device to grow with surrounding tissue. The growth profile of the medical device can be controlled by altering the shape/material/cure conditions of the inner core, as well as the geometry of the out element.
Implant and kit for treating a bone defect
An implant for treating a bone defect wherein the implant comprises osteoconductive supporting bodies and an insertion aid. The insertion aid is designed for insertion of the osteoconductive supporting bodies into a bone defect and for holding together the osteoconductive supporting bodies. Also disclosed is a kit comprised of an implant for treating a bone defect.
Expandable intervertebral spacers
The technical description relates to an expandable intervertebral spacer configured to engage an intervertebral disk. An example expandable intervertebral spacer includes a main body, a first endplate, a second endplate, a driving member, and an actuation member. The expandable intervertebral spacer is transitions from a first configuration to a second configuration by structural interfacing between steps defined on the first endplate, the second endplate, and the driving member. Steps include a surface that lies on a plane disposed at a non-parallel angle to the longitudinal axis of the intervertebral spacer.
