SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ORTHOPEDIC IMPLANT FIXATION
An interbody implant system for use in the spine includes a base comprising two or more bone contacting surfaces, at least one recess in at least one of the two or more bone contacting surfaces, the recess configured for containing a tooth, a deployable tooth to provide fixation between the base and the anatomy of a subject, a break-away bridge between the tooth and the base for providing a first relative position between the tooth and the base, and a locking mechanism for providing a second relative position between the tooth and the base.
ANGLED SPINAL FIXATION PLATE
The present invention relates to an implantable anterior cervical plate having a stackable superior design, which deflects soft tissue.
Anterior lumbar cage and inserter device
A plate and cage assembly for stabilization of vertebral bodies. The assembly includes at least one fixation member, a cage having a proximal wall, a superior surface and an inferior surface (the superior surface and the inferior surface for engaging adjacent vertebrae), and a plate coupled to the cage and having at least one hole traversing the plate at an angle for insertion of the at least one fixation member into one of the vertebral bodies. The proximal wall of the cage has a blind hole, and the plate has a threaded screw hole aligned with the blind hole in the proximal wall of the cage.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR JOINING BONEY STRUCTURES
Disclosed are system and methods that use at least one non-threaded anchor and an implant with at least one aperture to join boney structures, where the interaction of the head of the anchor with the implant aperture causes the anchor to move transversely with respect to an initial trajectory. This movement causes compression or distraction of the boney structures which are coupled to the anchors.
ORTHOPEDIC FASTENERS, INSTRUMENTS, AND METHODS
A solution is disclosed for deploying a fixation member into an aperture of a bone fastener. The solution may include a guide having a body that includes a proximal end and a distal end. The guide may also include a guide member coupled to the body near the proximal end. The guide member may be configured to guide placement of the fixation member to secure the bone fastener. The solution may include an engagement member coupled to the body near the distal end. The engagement member can be configured to engage the bone fastener such that the guide member is rotatable, relative to the bone fastener, about an engagement axis to the guide member at any of the plurality of relative orientations about the engagement axis.
INTERBODY FUSION DEVICES WITH SELF-AFFIXING MECHANISMS
Interbody fusion devices including deployable fixation members. The implant may include a spacer, optionally, an end member coupled to the spacer, and one or more fixation members configured to extend into adjacent vertebrae. The fixation members may include screws, nails, shims, tangs, spikes, staples, pins, blades, fins, or the like, and combinations thereof.
Soft glenoid awning and related repair procedures
Systems and methods for opposing abnormal motion of an adjacent bone are provided. One exemplary embodiment of a surgical method includes delivering and securing a bone barrier to a bone bed of a glenoid such that at least a portion of the bone barrier extends laterally beyond the bone bed and can oppose, prevent, and/or reduce abnormal motion of an adjacent bone (e.g., a humeral head). The bone barrier can be secured along a periphery of a glenoid of a shoulder. More particularly, the bone barrier can be placed and secured such that at least a portion of the bone barrier extends laterally over the glenoid and can oppose abnormal motion of the humeral head. In some embodiments at least one suture anchor and suture can secure the bone barrier to the bone bed.
Bellows shaped spinal implant
A bellows shaped spinal implant, comprising an upper plate having an upper opening therethrough, a lower plate having a lower opening therethrough, and aa bellows shaped shell extending between and joining the upper plate and the lower plate. The bellows shaped shell is formed of titanium or an alloy comprising titanium and includes a wall extending continuously therearound that defines a hollow interior in communication with the upper opening and the lower opening. The wall has a thickness in the range of 0.5 mm to 1.0 mm to provide for radiographic imaging through the wall. The wall is angled or curved inwardly or outwardly between the upper plate and the lower plate to provide stiffness that mimics the stiffness properties of a similarly sized polyetheretherketone (PEEK) implant.
Adjustable Spinal Implants, Associated Instruments and Methods
The present disclosure provides adjustable spinal devices, instruments for implanting the spinal devices, methods for adjusting the height and lordosis angles of the spinal devices and methods for implanting such devices. An adjustable spinal fusion device includes an upper plate component having an outer surface for placement against an endplate of a vertebral body and a lower plate component having an outer surface for placement against an endplate of a vertebral body. The device further includes a first translation member configured to move longitudinally relative to the upper and lower plates to adjust a distance between the upper and lower plates and a second translation member configured to move longitudinally relative to the upper and lower plates to adjust an angle between the upper and lower plates.
MONOBLOCK EXPANDABLE INTERBODY IMPLANT
A unibody implant movable between an expanded position and a contracted position is disclosed. The unibody implant may include a unitary expandable body defined by an inferior portion and a superior portion that are connected together. In various embodiments, a set screw may be rotatably supported by the body and configured to move a plug having a first inclined surface facing the distal side. In various embodiments, the set screw may be movable in the longitudinal direction towards the distal side upon rotation of the set screw along the rotation axis, for example. In various embodiments, movement of the set screw urges the plug against the superior portion thereby expanding a vertical distance between the superior and inferior sides of the body. In some embodiments, the plug may include a stabilizing element configured to transfer compressive forces between the superior portion and inferior portion.
