Shoulder Arthroplasty System Method With Combination Humeral Sizer, Trial, and Guide
A shoulder arthroplasty kit includes a humeral head component, a combination sizer and guide device substantially identical to the humeral component but including a including a guide bore, and a guide pin configured to be inserted into the resected surface of the humerus and configured to be guided by the guide bore to a center of the resected surface of the humerus which is covered by the at least one combination sizer and guide device.
Posterior shoulder arthroplasty implants, systems, and methods
A stemless humeral head replacement system including a base plate and a humeral head implant. The base plate includes a bone facing side, an implant side opposite the bone facing side, a curvate perimeter, at least one fin protruding from the bone facing side a first distance and extending linearly a length along the bone facing side, and an implant engagement structure on the implant side. The humeral head implant includes a curvate implant surface and a base plate engagement structure opposite the curvate implant surface, the base plate engagement structure configured to couple to the implant engagement structure of the base plate.
Coated hemi-prosthesis implant
A hemi-prosthesis implant comprises a replacement-joint part with an articulation surface for tribological pairing with a joint surface of a natural joint counterpart. The articulation surface is embodied with a coating applied on a substrate. The substrate provides a relief for the adhesion of the coating. The relief may comprise one or more of a plurality of grooves, a plurality of teeth, a ribbing, and a roughened surface. The relief may be embodied entirely or partially outside the articulation surface. The replacement joint part may optionally comprise a ventilation feature, and the articulation surface may be formed by injection molding on the substrate. The hemi-prosthesis implant may be part of an implant set that includes both a hemi-prosthesis implant and a total prosthesis implant, either of which can be chosen intraoperatively.
System and Method for Fracture Replacement of Comminuted Bone Fractures or Portions Thereof Adjacent Bone Joints
The system and method serves in facilitating replacement of comminuted bone fractures or portions thereof adjacent bone joints. The system and method employs a prosthesis to replace at least a portion of the comminuted bone fractures. The prosthesis serves in reproducing the articular surface of the portion or portions of the comminuted bone fractures that are replaced. In doing so, the prosthesis serves in restoring joint viability and corresponding articulation thereof.
REVERSE SHOULDER PRE-OPERATIVE PLANNING
A method of pre-operatively developing a reverse shoulder arthroplasty plan can include receiving an image of a patient shoulder comprising a humerus and a glenoid. The image can be segmented to develop a 3D shoulder model. Virtual surgery can be performed on the 3D shoulder model to generate a modified shoulder model. The virtual surgery can include resecting and reaming a virtual humerus of the 3D shoulder model, and reaming a virtual glenoid of the 3D shoulder model. Selection of a humeral implant and selection of a glenoid implant can be received. A virtual representation of the humeral implant can be implanted on the virtual humerus and a virtual representation of the glenoid implant on the virtual glenoid to virtually update the modified shoulder model. A range of motion of the patient shoulder can be determined and a reverse shoulder arthroplasty can be finalized based on the range of motion.
IMPLANT COMPONENT
A humeral implant component connectable to another humeral implant component, the humeral implant component comprising: a longitudinal axis, a first end and a second end, the first end and the second end opposing each other along the longitudinal axis of the humeral implant component, and an interface part for connecting the humeral implant component to the other humeral implant component, wherein the interface part is tapered along the longitudinal axis in a direction from the second end to the first end, the interface part being engageable with a tapered interface part of the other humeral implant component to form a tapered connection between the humeral implant component and the other humeral implant component, wherein the humeral implant component further comprises a through hole extending along the longitudinal axis for locking the tapered connection by a longitudinal fastener.
REPLACEMENT MEMBER FOR A JOINT REPLACEMENT
The disclosure relates to a replacement member for a shoulder joint replacement comprising an attachment face on one side of the member, a concave joint surface on a side of the replacement member opposite to the side of the attachment face, and a circumferential face connecting the attachment face and the joint surface. A portion of the concave joint surface is connected to at least a portion of the circumferential face via a chamfered or rounded edge.
ANCHORING MEMBER FOR A JOINT REPLACEMENT
This disclosure relates to an anchoring member for a joint replacement, comprising a proximal interface part and a distal portion, the distal portion being configured to be anchored within bone tissue and the proximal interface part being configured for mounting a joint member of the joint replacement. The proximal interface part comprises a concave interface surface.
SHOULDER ARTHROPLASTY SYSTEMS AND CONFIGURATIONS FOR COMPONENTS THEREOF
Shoulder arthroplasty systems and configurations for components thereof are described. For example, implant systems for a total should arthroplasty (TSA), hemi shoulder arthroplasty, and reverse should arthroplasty (RSA) are described. In addition, exemplary configurations for baseplates, glenoid components, glenosphere components, humeral components, humeral head components, humerosocket components, connectors, and adaptors, are described.
Intra-articular joint replacement
A method of forming a shoulder prosthesis includes resecting an end portion of a humerus to form a resected end of the humerus and a resected portion separated from the humerus, the resected portion having an outer convex surface and an inner surface. The inner surface of the resected portion is processed to include a concave articular surface. The outer convex surface of the resected portion is implanted in the resected end of the humerus. An implant having a convex articular surface is secured to a glenoid. The concave articular surface of the resected portion is articulated with the convex articular surface of the implant.
