MILLING APPARATUS FOR IMPLANTING A JOINT PROSTHESIS
A novel and improved elbow prosthesis and method of implanting same including a novel aggregate prosthesis having a retaining system in conjunction with a set plate.
Milling apparatus for implanting a joint prosthesis
A novel and improved elbow prosthesis and method of implanting same including a novel aggregate prosthesis having a retaining system in conjunction with a set plate.
ORTHOPEDIC IMPLANTS AND TOOLS
A prosthetic device can include a neck defining an upper surface and a sidewall extending from the upper surface, an opening defined by the sidewall and extending into the neck, one or more interior surfaces extending into the neck from the opening to define a female receiving cavity, and a radial head including a male protrusion received within the female receiving cavity through the opening.
MILLING APPARATUS FOR IMPLANTING A JOINT PROSTHESIS
A novel and improved elbow prosthesis and method of implanting same including a prosthesis system that has a retaining system. The joint prosthesis system can include an implant, and an alignment guide. The alignment guide can include a post member extending through a central axis of rotation in a prosthesis and a drill guide member having a first limiting member for limiting articular surface removal from a joint. The first limiting member can include a recessed guide for positioning the implant.
Canine elbow repair and instrumentation
Instrumentation and assembly for arthroscopic elbow surgery which includes a humeral component. The humeral component is installed in a trough formed in the humeral condyle. The trough may be formed by using a plurality of drill pins and a plurality of corresponding cutters (and optionally a template). The two drill pins are passed through the template and drilled into the humerus, and cutters are advanced over the corresponding drill pins to form the trough. The humeral component may be employed in conjunction with an ulnar implant.
Methods for implanting a joint prosthesis
A novel and improved elbow prosthesis and method of implanting same including a novel aggregate prosthesis having a retaining system in conjunction with a set plate.
Bone joint replacement and repair assembly and method of repairing and replacing a bone joint
A bone joint repair and replacement assembly. A first portion comprising a bone plate is configured to attach to a distal or proximal end of a bone proximate the joint, generally coaxially with an axis defined by the bone. A second portion comprising an articular surface is configured to attach to the first portion, generally normal with respect to the axis, and inserted into the joint. Although versions of the assembly can be configured for use with several different pivotal joints, the invention is particularly suitable for full or partial replacement of an elbow, wherein the articular surface is pivotally attached to the first portion. Another embodiment of the invention is provided to repair a fractured bone head proximate the joint, and still another embodiment of the invention is provided to repair rotator cuff-related shoulder injuries.
ELBOW JOINT PROSTHESES
A radial head assembly is provided that includes a stem, a collar, a locking ring, and an articular member. The stem has a convex articular head on one end thereof. The locking ring has a ring wall, which has a ring opening. The ring wall has an angular outer surface and a slot configured to permit the ring wall to radially expand. The angular outer surface engages an angular portion of an interior surface of the collar. The articular member and the locking ring define an articular space within the collar. The articular space is configured to receive the convex articular head.
Magnetic Locking Mechanism (MLM) for Joint Arthroplasty
A method of implanting a joint prosthesis assembly for joint arthroplasty using a coupling mechanism is disclosed. The method includes exposing a joint of a patient, resecting a portion of the joint, inserting a second prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly into a medullary canal, and inserting a first prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly from a lateral side of the joint, The joint prosthesis assembly includes a magnet. The magnet is configured to lock the first prosthesis of the joint prosthesis a.ssembly to the second prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly. The first prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly includes a recess. The second prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly includes a protrusion. The recess is configured to house the protrusion. Alternatively, the first prosthesis and the second prosthesis may be assembled in a direct line using the magnet for secure coupling of the components.
