Methods and apparatus for implanting an interbody device

An interbody implant comprises one or more elongate members that have superior and inferior surfaces with a height, and medial and lateral surfaces having a width. The height is set so the implant fits into the intervertebral space. The width is less than the height. The interbody implant has a first configuration, a second configuration, and a third configuration. The interbody implant is inserted into the intervertebral space in the first configuration such that medial and lateral surfaces contact the vertebral bodies, and the interbody implant is then actuated into the second configuration such that superior and inferior surfaces engage the vertebral bodies. Actuation of the implant from the first configuration to the second configuration distracts the vertebral bodies. The implant is actuated into the third configuration where the width of the implant is greater than width of the implant in the first or the second configuration.

MESH SPACER HYBRID SPINAL IMPLANT

A hybrid spinal implant for performing an intervertebral fusion procedure can include a pair of spacers separated by an expandable container that are formed of a porous titanium scaffold material. A connecting rod can span longitudinally between the pair of spacers. The spacers can be formed of titanium or PEEK, with endplates that are formed of the porous titanium scaffold material. The endplates can be bioactive. Exposed surfaces of the porous titanium scaffold material can be coated in a snag-preventing substance. The expandable container can be formed of a mesh material.

HEIGHT RESTORING DEVICE, INSERTION APPARATUS HAVING A HEIGHT RESTORING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR RESTORING THE HEIGHT OF AND STABILISING THE SPINAL COLUMN

The invention relates to a height restoring device for restoring the height of and stabilizing the spinal column, in particular for stabilizing broken vertebral bodies or contused intervertebral discs, which device can be arranged in an insertion position in a compression-fractured vertebral body or between adjacent vertebral bodies and once there, can be transferred from the insertion position into an expansion position by means of an expansion apparatus.

Expandable Interbody Spacer

An expandable intervertebral spacer includes a body, a proximal end, and a distal end. The body includes quadrants that form a substantially cylindrical shape in a first configuration and a substantially cuboidal shape in a second configuration. Each quadrant includes a ramp portion with a ramp and a landing and a sliding portion with a sliding side and a foot. The ramp portion of a first quadrant engages the sliding portion of a second quadrant. The proximal end and the distal end couple with the plurality of quadrants and transfer an actuating force to expand the body from the first configuration to the second configuration.

Staged laterovertical expansion

A staged expansion of an intervertebral scaffolding system is provided, and also include a laterovertically-expanding frame operable for a reversible collapse from an expanded state into a collapsed state. The expanded state, for example, can be configured to have an open graft distribution window that at least substantially closes upon the reversible collapse.

Resilient arthroplasty device
09808345 · 2017-11-07 · ·

The disclosure is directed to a resilient implant for implantation into human or animal joints to act as a cushion allowing for renewed joint motion. The implant endures variable joint forces and cyclic loads while reducing pain and improving function after injury or disease to repair, reconstruct, and regenerate joint integrity. The implant is deployed in a prepared debrided joint space, secured to at least one of the joint bones and expanded in the space, molding to surrounding structures with sufficient stability to avoid extrusion or dislocation. The implant has opposing walls that move in varied directions, and an inner space filled with suitable filler to accommodate motions which mimic or approximate normal joint motion. The implant pads the damaged joint surfaces, restores cushioning immediately and may be employed to restore cartilage to normal by delivering regenerative cells.

DISTRIBUTING GRAFT MATERIAL FROM AN EXPANDABLE CAGE
20220160517 · 2022-05-26 ·

An expansion member for distributing graft material through a cage and into an intervertebral space is provided. The expansion member has a central beam with an entry port in fluid communication with an exit port for distribution of the graft material. The central beam is inserted into a cage having a reversible collapse from an expanded state into a collapsed state, the expanded state forming a graft distribution window. The expanded state, for example, can be configured to open the graft distribution window which at least substantially closes upon the reversible collapse.

ASYMMETRICALLY EXPANDABLE CAGE

An expandable intervertebral implant, including a support component, an inferior component, including a first proximate end connected to the support component, a first distal end, a first top surface, and a first bottom surface, a superior component, including a second proximate end connected to the support component, a second distal end, a second top surface, and a second bottom surface, and a balloon connected to the first top surface and the second bottom surface and operatively arranged to expand the expandable intervertebral implant.

Expandable interbody fusion implant

Disclosed is an expandable interbody fusion implant that is configured to have an initial configuration having a first footprint width suitable for being inserted into an intervertebral space and an expanded configuration having a second footprint width that is greater than the first footprint width. The implant may include a first body member and a second body member that is pivotally coupled to the first body member. The implant may be expanded using an inflatable balloon. The implant may be expanded bilaterally such that both body members rotate relative to the other or the implant may be expanded unilaterally such that one of the body members rotates relative to the other.
