HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE SPINAL FUSION CAGE
20230046487 · 2023-02-16 · ·

The present invention relates to a spinal fusion cage which is inserted between vertebral bodies with the lowest height and is height-adjustable in the inserted state, whereby cages having heights within a predetermined range can be replaced by a single cage. Therefore, manufacturers can reduce product groups that need to be produced, and can also reduce product stock. Further, in contrast to the conventional cages having predetermined heights at regular intervals, the height of the inventive cage can be linearly adjusted according to the distance between the vertebral bodies of a patient, and thus a surgery can be performed using the cage adjusted to an optimum height according to the patient's condition.

POROUS COLLAGEN/POLYMER MATRIX BIOCOMPOSITE MATERIAL AND USE THEREOF AS AN IMPLANT FOR REPAIRING MENISCAL LESIONS OF THE KNEE AND/OR FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING OSTEOARTHRITIS OF THE KNEE
20230037708 · 2023-02-09 ·

A porous biocomposite material including a polymer matrix having pores defined by several surfaces and collagen on the surface of the pores and the outer surfaces of the polymer matrix, the ratio, by weight, collagen to polymer matrix is from 20:80 to 40:60. The polymer matrix of the porous biocomposite material includes a copolymer which is prepared from a poly(ε-caprolactone) diol, a poly(lactide-co-glycolide) diol and a lysine diisocyanate (LDI). Also included are an implant which is a biodegradable, porous foam and with similar biomechanics to the normal meniscus, with tensile, compressive and tear strength, and preventing the pores from collapsing under condyle-tibia pressure. It serves as a scaffold for damaged meniscus repair or replacement, indicated for grade 3 or 4 terminal knee arthrosis, for the prevention of treatment, by cartilage regeneration, of advanced knee arthrosis, to avoid knee prostheses in young patients.

Methods and Apparatus for Performing Spine Surgery

Systems and methods are described for correcting sagittal imbalance in a spine including instruments for performing the controlled release of the anterior longitudinal ligament through a lateral access corridor and hyper-lordotic lateral implants.

Anatomical Wedge Implant

An osteotomy implant includes a first surface extending generally in a first plane and a second surface extending generally in a second plane, oblique to the first plane. The first surface has a perimeter having a first linear edge, a first curve edge connected to the first linear edge, a second linear edge connected to the first curved edge, and a second curved edge connected to the second liner edge.

Soft glenoid awning and related repair procedures

Systems and methods for opposing abnormal motion of an adjacent bone are provided. One exemplary embodiment of a surgical method includes delivering and securing a bone barrier to a bone bed of a glenoid such that at least a portion of the bone barrier extends laterally beyond the bone bed and can oppose, prevent, and/or reduce abnormal motion of an adjacent bone (e.g., a humeral head). The bone barrier can be secured along a periphery of a glenoid of a shoulder. More particularly, the bone barrier can be placed and secured such that at least a portion of the bone barrier extends laterally over the glenoid and can oppose abnormal motion of the humeral head. In some embodiments at least one suture anchor and suture can secure the bone barrier to the bone bed.

Expandable intervertebral implant

An implant for therapeutically separating bones of a joint has two endplates each having an opening through the endplate, and at least one ramped surface on a side opposite a bone engaging side. A frame is slideably connected to the endplates to enable the endplates to move relative to each other at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the implant, in sliding connection with the frame. An actuator screw is rotatably connected to the frame. A carriage forms an open area aligned with the openings in the endplates. The openings in the endplates pass through the carriage to form an unimpeded passage from bone to bone of the joint. The carriage has ramps which mate with the ramped surfaces of the endplates, wherein when the carriage is moved by rotation of the actuator screw, the endplates move closer or farther apart.

A dilation introducer for orthopedic surgery is provided for minimally invasive access for insertion of an intervertebral implant. The dilation introducer may be used to provide an access position through Kambin's triangle from a posterolateral approach. A first dilator tube with a first longitudinal axis is provided. An access cannula may be introduced over the first dilator tube. A drill may be inserted through the access cannula and used to perform a foraminoplasty. Surgical instruments may pass through the access cannula to operate on an intervertebral disc and/or insert an intervertebral implant.
