Dynamic Bone Loading TKA
A joint prosthesis assembly includes a stem that includes a first end, a second end, and a length that extends between the first and second ends. The stem includes a cylindrical opening that extends into the second end along a portion of the length and terminates within the stem so as to form a base surface that defines an end of the cylindrical opening. The assembly also includes a joint component that has an articular side, a bone contact side, and a cylindrical boss that extends from the bone contact side. The boss is slidingly receivable within the cylindrical opening so that, when the stem and joint component are implanted, the stem is unconstrained in an axial direction and constrained by the stem in a direction transverse to the axial direction.
Multi-Member Bone Structure Prostheses
A multi-member prosthesis including first and second elongated members and a central member, said multi-member prosthesis adapted to be advanced into a pilot SI joint opening in said dysfunctional SI joint via a posterior approach, the pilot SI joint opening comprising a sacrum opening and an ilium opening and a sacrum opening. The first elongated member adapted to be press-fit into the sacrum opening and the second elongated member adapted to be press-fit into the ilium opening. The central member including first and second elongated member securing means adapted to secure the first and second elongated members thereto.
INTERBODY FUSION IMPLANT
An intervertebral implant can include a core and a flexible end plate. The core can have a core body that is elongate along a first direction and defines first and second outer surfaces. The flexible end plate can define an inner surface and an opposed bone facing surface that is configured to abut a vertebral body. The flexible end plate can be coupled to the core such that at least a portion of the inner surface faces the first outer surface and is spaced from the first outer surface. The flexible end plate is configured to resiliently flex toward a compressed configuration such that as the flexible end plate flexes toward the compressed configuration, a first end moves relative to the core along the first direction and the portion of the inner surface moves toward the first outer surface.
JOINT PROSTHESIS
A joint prosthesis comprises a first component and a second component being connected via a ball-and-socket-joint, wherein the first component comprises two outward spherical sections, at least one of the spherical sections having a projection; the ball-and-socket-joint comprises two gliding blocks each having an inward spherical section and at least one of the gliding blocks comprising a hole, the gliding blocks being attached to the second component, the outward spherical sections are in gliding engagement with the inward spherical sections of the gliding blocks so that the first component is movably attached to the second component; and the projection is inserted into one of the holes of the gliding blocks, so as to limit the mobility of the ball-and-socket-joint.
REPLACEMENT MEMBER FOR A JOINT REPLACEMENT
The disclosure relates to a replacement member for a shoulder joint replacement comprising an attachment face on one side of the member, a concave joint surface on a side of the replacement member opposite to the side of the attachment face, and a circumferential face connecting the attachment face and the joint surface. A portion of the concave joint surface is connected to at least a portion of the circumferential face via a chamfered or rounded edge.
WING-SHAPED STEMLESS HIP PROSTHESIS
A wing-shaped stemless hip joint prosthesis comprises a wing-shaped cup body which can be tightly covered on the femoral neck and the intertrochanter to fix an artificial spherical end and the femoral tissue into a whole, wherein the wing-shaped cup body integrally in an inverted cup form is inversely buckled outside the residual end of the femoral neck and is reinforced through a center lock pin and a tail pin; the wing-shaped cup body is provided with a lesser trochanter protecting wing buckled outside the lesser trochanter and a cup wing covered outside the intertrochanter line to acquire the additional supports and to be more stable accordingly; and the wing-shaped cup body is further provided with a large opening or hole so as to contain the nourishing blood vessels of the femur, accordingly decreasing the damage rate of the nourishing blood vessels and improving the postoperative recovery effect.
FLEXIBLE HIP JOINT STEM AND HIP JOINT PROSTHESIS USING SAME
A flexible hip joint stem includes a shoulder body connecting piece, a flexible stem body, a stem tail, and a center regulating rod. The flexible stem body includes an inner-layer cylinder and an outer-layer cylinder. The inner-layer cylinder and the outer-layer cylinder are both composed of spiral springs, where the spring wire width of the spiral springs is basically equal to the screw pitch. The regulating rod passes through the shoulder body connecting piece and the flexible stem body, and is fixed with the stem tail by screwing the threads, which allows the inner-layer cylinder and the outer-layer cylinder to produce a certain degree of elastic deformation, limits the range of the elastic deformation, and enables the flexible hip joint stem to have sufficient supporting strength as a whole.
ENDOPROSTHETIC ROTATING HINGE KNEE ASSEMBLIES, SUBASSEMBLIES, AND METHODS
Assemblies, systems, kits, and methods related to an endoprosthetic rotating hinge assembly. The exemplary embodiments disclosed herein can comprise a preassembled rotating hinge subassembly having a hingedly rotating femur box configured to be mechanically engaged to a femoral component via a femur fastening mechanism, the femur fastening mechanism being non-axially aligned with a tibial axis of rotation when the knee is in flexion or extension.
TALAR IMPLANT
Provided is a total talar replacement prosthesis that has a metallic body shell and a metallic or biologic core, where the metallic body shell includes one or both of a removable calcaneus attachment and a removable navicular attachment. The attachments, when removed, exposes a respective calcaneus-facing surface or a navicular-facing surface that can enhance fusion to the respective bones, calcaneus and/or navicular.
Remotely adjustable orthopedic prostheses
An adjustable orthopedic implant can include a neck assembly, a stem assembly, and a drive assembly having a first portion coupled to the neck assembly and a second portion coupled to the stem assembly. The drive assembly can include an actuator configured to rotate in response to the actuation signal, and a threaded rod coupled to the actuator and configured to rotate in response to rotation of the actuator. The threaded rod can engage a threaded receptacle of the stem assembly such that rotation of the threaded rod in a first direction urges the neck assembly and the stem assembly closer together, and rotation of the threaded rod in a second, opposite direction urges the neck assembly and the stem assembly further apart.
