Expandable vertebral implant
The present invention relates to an expandable implant for engagement between vertebrae generally comprising an inner member, outer member, and gear member positioned coaxial with respect to each other such that the inner and outer members are moveable relative to each other along an axis. The gear member is axially fixed to the outer member and freely rotatable with respect to the outer member and the gear member threadedly engages a threaded portion of the inner member to translate inner member along the axis. The implant is configured to engage the vertebrae in a predetermined alignment and the gear member includes gear teeth exposed to the exterior and configured to be accessible by a tool member at a plurality of angular positions around the perimeter of the implant device.

The present invention relates to an anchoring system for attaching a prosthesis to a human body, comprising: an anchoring element, an abutment, an abutment screw for attaching the abutment to the anchoring element, the anchoring element comprises a connection area for the abutment, the connection area comprising a press-fit portion such that the abutment is attached to the anchoring element in the connection area by a press-fit connection, wherein the connection area comprises an anti-rotation geometry and the abutment comprising a corresponding mating anti-rotation geometry proximal to the press-fit portion, and where in the connection area comprises a conical portion proximal to the anti-rotational geometry forming a mating geometry for a corresponding conical portion in the through-hole of the abutment.

An intervertebral prosthetic unit (10) is also described having an intervertebral disc prosthesis and a posterior articular prosthesis (11) provided with two adjacent and partially tangent articular blades (12, 13), which are each coupled to a vertebra (3, 3′) by coupling devices (14) and are connected by guide devices that allow them to move along a curve whose center C3 is provided on the same side as the implantation of said coupling means.
Intervertebral implant
An adjustable spinal fusion intervertebral implant including upper and lower body portions each having proximal and distal surfaces at proximal and distal ends thereof. The implant can include a proximal wedge member disposed at the proximal ends of the respective ones of the upper and lower body portions, and a distal wedge member disposed at the distal ends of the respective ones of the upper and lower body portions. First and second linkages can connect the upper and lower body portions. Rotation of an actuator shaft can cause the distal and proximal wedge members to be drawn together such that longitudinal movement of the distal wedge member against the distal surfaces and the longitudinal movement of the proximal wedge member against the proximal surfaces causes separation of the upper and lower body portions.

A knee joint endoprosthesis apparatus includes a tibial component for anchoring to a tibia and a meniscal component. The tibial component and the meniscal component are coupled to one another in a coupling position and are completely separated from one another in a separating position. The tibial component has a top side defining an abutment plane, against which a bottom side of the meniscal component abuts in the coupling position. The knee joint endoprosthesis apparatus also includes a coupling device for coupling the tibial component and the meniscal component in the coupling position. The knee joint endoprosthesis apparatus is transferrable from the separating position into the coupling position by a relative movement of the tibial component and the meniscal component.

A prosthesis includes a first and second plate; elements for mounting the plates to pivot about an axis, which include a flexible hinge including a cylindrical plane flexible strip with two cylindrical swellings respectively associated with two edges of the strip, the dimension of the cross-sections of the swellings, taken in a direction perpendicular to the plane containing the pivot axis and passing through the swellings, being greater than the thickness of the strip taken in the same direction, a hole in each plate of shape complementary to the swellings and opening out in a first face of the corresponding plate; a slot made in each plate and opening out into the hole of that plate, in a second of its faces, and in the first face, the hinge and plates being mounted to so that the swellings and the strip are situated respectively in the two holes and slots.
