EXPANDABLE FUSION DEVICE AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION THEREOF
The present invention provides an expandable fusion device capable of being inserted between adjacent vertebrae to facilitate the fusion process. The expandable fusion device may include first and second endplates, a translation member configured to expand an anterior side and/or posterior side of the device, a plurality of joists configured to connect the first and second endplates to the translation member, and first and second actuation members disposed internally to the device such that openings on a back side of the device can be used to expand or compress the anterior side, the posterior side, or both and such openings may also be used to introduce graft material into the device.
Method and apparatus for post-operative tuning of a spinal implant
A tunable implant, system, and method enables a tunable implant to be adjusted within a patient. The tunable implant includes a securing mechanism to secure the implant in the patient, a actuation portion that enables the implant to move and an adjustment portion that permits adjustment of the implant after the implant has been positioned within the patient. The method of adjusting the tunable implant includes analyzing the operation of the implant, determining if any adjustments are necessary and adjusting the implant to improve implant performance. The implant system includes both the tunable implant and a telemetric system that is operable to telemetrically receive data from the tunable implant where the data is used to determine if adjustment of the tunable implant is necessary. The system also includes an instrument assembly that is used for performing spinal surgery where the instrument assembly includes a mounting platform and a jig.
Expandable intervertebral implant
An expandable intervertebral implant is provided for insertion into an intervertebral space defined by adjacent vertebrae. The expandable intervertebral implant includes a pair of outer sleeve portions and an inner core disposed between the outer sleeve portions. Movement of the inner core relative to the outer sleeve portions causes the outers sleeve portions to deflect away from each other, thereby engaging the expandable intervertebral implant with the vertebrae and adjusting the height of the intervertebral space.
EXPANDABLE INTERSPINOUS PROCESS FIXATION DEVICE
An expandable interspinous process fixation system capable of restoring spinal stability and facilitating fusion. In one embodiment, the expandable interspinous process fixation system includes a central ramp, a first endplate, and a second endplate, the central ramp capable of being moved in a first direction to move the first and second endplates outwardly and into an expanded configuration. Each endplate supporting fixed and/or adjustable spinous process engaging plates.
A REVISION-IMPLANT RECEIVER, AN IMPLANT ANCHOR AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
A revision-implant receiver (18) is provided for supporting an implant (20) of a revision joint replacement (10). The revision-implant receiver (18) comprises a first receiver element (22) and a second receiver element (24). The first receiver element (22) and the second receiver element (24) are engaged with each other via a hinge element (26).
EXPANDABLE INTERVERTEBRAL CAGE
An expandable intervertebral cage device includes a first base plate and a second base plate, a proximal block with internal threading that mechanically couples the first base plate and the second base plate, and a distal block comprising an internal passage. The device has exactly two arm assemblies, one on each side. Each arm assembly includes a first arm mechanically coupled to the first base plate and the distal block, and a second arm is mechanically coupled to the second base plate and the distal block. A screw is arranged partially within the internal threading of the proximal block and passes through the internal passage of the distal block, such that rotation of the screw relative to the proximal block causes a change in distance between the proximal block and the distal block, and a corresponding change in the spacing and lordosis of the device.
Implant
The present invention is directed to a hinge joint implant (40) configured to fit in a joint cavity and which can comprise, when in situ, an at least hemi-spherocylindrical configuration, and further a hinge joint implant configured to fit in a joint cavity wherein the implant can extend around the sides of a joint component which may be a bone and/or cartilage. The invention further provides the use of a hinge joint implant according for treating arthritis, and/or torn cartilage, and a method for manufacturing a hinge joint implant from one or more pieces.
Hip Off-Loading Device and Method
The present invention includes a hip-off-loading device including a pelvic assembly including a pelvic base plate configured for attachment to a human pelvis; a distraction adjustment mechanism coupled to the pelvic base plate, wherein the distraction adjustment mechanism is lockable, to provide for adjusting the distal distraction of the hip-off-loading device; and at least a portion of a rotation mechanism to provide for internal or external rotation or both, and to provide for non-dynamic interoperative adjustment of abduction, adduction, or both; a link movably coupled to the pelvic assembly to provide for internal or external rotation or both; and a femoral assembly coupled to the link and including a femoral attachment mechanism for attachment to a femur to provide for flexion, extension, or both.
CAGE FOR MINIMAL INVASIVE SURGERY
Disclosed is a cage for minimally invasive surgery, the cage including a main body part inserted into a space between a vertebra and an adjacent vertebra, and having lengthwise first and second end parts connected rotatably to each other, and a dilatation induction part provided in an inner space of the main body part, the dilatation induction part being configured to dilate a lengthwise middle part of the main body part by moving to a position at which the first and second end parts of the main body part are connected to each other.
Expandable intervertebral implants and methods of installation thereof
Embodiments herein are generally directed to expandable spinal implants, systems, apparatuses, and components thereof that can be used in spinal fusion and/or stabilization procedures, as well as methods of installation. The expandable spinal implants may be configured for lateral insertion.
