DOUBLE MOBILITY PROTHESE
Provided is a joint replacement with a joint socket (10) having a concave joint surface (11), and with a joint insert (20) having a concave joint surface (21) and a convex joint surface (22) which are each delimited by a peripheral edge (23, 24). The convex joint surface (22) of the joint insert (20) is designed, in the assembled state, to form a first partial joint with the concave joint surface (11) of the joint socket (10). Moreover, the concave joint surface (21) of the joint insert (20) is designed, in the assembled state, to form a second partial joint with the convex joint surface (32) of a joint head (30). The joint socket (10) and the joint insert (20) each have a securing means (12, 25, 26) for preventing dislocation of the joint replacement.
Acetabular apparatus with dual mobility for hip revision surgery
Prostheses, acetabular apparatuses, and methods of use are disclosed. In some embodiments, an acetabular apparatus includes an acetabular cup, a pre-assembled liner and flange construct, and a dual mobility bearing (e.g., a dual articulating femoral head component and insert). In one embodiment, the pre-assembled liner and flange construct may be coupled together by a band coupled to the flanges, the band being arranged and configured to be pressed onto an outer surface of a liner. The pre-assembled liner and flange construct being arranged and configured to accept the dual mobility bearing so that it is freely rotatable relative thereto during use.
3D PRINTED MONOBLOCK ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL IMPLANT WITH CUSTOMIZED PATIENT-SPECIFIC AUGMENT
An acetabular shell component includes a solid substrate, a porous outer layer coupled to the solid substrate, a porous inner layer coupled to the solid substrate, and an inner bearing coupled to the porous inner layer. One or more adjuncts extend outward from the porous outer layer. Each adjunct includes an outer surface that defines a customized patient-specific negative contour shaped to conform to a positive contour of a patient's bone. A method for manufacturing the acetabular shell component using an additive manufacturing process is also disclosed.
Insert press and related method
An insert press that has a threaded shaft with a distal end is disclosed. An insert driver is disposed at the distal end of the threaded shaft. The insert press also includes a press housing that provides a bore through which the threaded shaft extends. The bore is transformable from a first condition in which the threaded shaft is threadably translatable in the bore to a second condition in which the threaded shaft is non-threadably translatable in the bore.
Method and device for joint replacement
A method of joint replacement including forming one or more arthroscopy portals adjacent a hip joint that includes, a femur with a femoral head and a pelvis with an acetabulum socket, inserting a hemiarthroplasty cup, having a cup inner surface and a cup outer surface, between a femoral head outer surface of the femoral head and an acetabulum outer surface of the acetabulum socket, wherein at least one of the femoral head outer surface and the acetabulum other surface are unreamed.
METHOD FOR LUBRICATING AN ARTIFICIAL CONTACTING SURFACE
A method for implanting a medical device for implantation in a mammal joint. The method comprising the steps of creating an opening reaching from outside of the human body into the joint, providing said artificial contacting surface to said joint, fixating the artificial contacting surface to the joint, implanting said reservoir in the human body, and lubricating the artificial contacting surface with use of a lubricating fluid contained in said reservoir.
Instruments for setting acetabular cup
A cup and a temporary insert are respectively configured to be tightly press fitted into each other along their periphery. The temporary insert includes a through hole communicating outside with a free space between the outer surface of the temporary insert and the inner surface of the cup. In the through hole can be engaged the threaded end of an impactor, for manipulating the cup when it is being set. A syringe can be engaged, enabling a liquid under pressure to be injected into the free space, thus separating the temporary insert from the cup without any risk of damaging the inner surface of the cup. Thus, the cup can be securely manipulated when it is being set without any risk of damaging the inner surface of the cup.
UNIVERSAL PROSTHETIC HEAD FOR HIP PROSTHESIS
A prosthetic head with a body having the shape of a cup shaped as a hemispherical cap provided with an external surface, an internal surface and a lower edge shaped as a circumference, fixing means to fix the prosthetic head to the cotyle, and a projection abutting from the internal surface of the prosthetic head in such manner to define an annular step, and a truncated-conical portion obtained in the internal surface of the body of the prosthetic head starting from the lower edge of the prosthetic head, the truncated-conical portion of the prosthetic head being suitable for being coupled in conical coupling mode with a truncated conical part of an insert intended to be inserted in the prosthetic head. he projection is shaped as a portion of a spherical cap.
Method and device for joint replacement
A joint replacement device is provided that includes an inner surface configured to accommodate at least one of a portion of an outer surface of a femoral head of a femur and a prosthetic secured to the femoral head, an outer surface configured to accommodate at least one of a portion of an outer surface of an acetabulum socket and a prosthetic secured to a pelvis, wherein the inner surface and outer surface each have a circular curvilinear shape and together include an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter, and wherein the inner perimeter is joined to the outer perimeter to form a posterior limb and an anterior limb, and further including, a posterior portion, an anterior portion, and a superior portion formed from the inner surface and the outer surface; wherein the superior portion further includes a posterior superior portion and an anterior superior portion.
Hip joint device and method
A medical device for implantation in a hip joint of a human patient, the natural hip joint having a ball shaped caput femur as the proximal part of the femoral bone with a convex hip joint surface towards the center of the hip joint and a bowl shaped acetabulum as part of the pelvic bone with a concave hip joint surface towards the center of the hip joint. The medical device comprising; an artificial caput femur, comprising a convex surface towards the center of the hip joint. The artificial convex caput femur is adapted to, when implanted: be fixated to the pelvic bone of the human patient, and be in movable connection with an artificial acetabulum surface fixated to the femoral bone of the patient, thereby forming a ball and socket joint. The medical device further comprises a fixation element comprising a fixation surface adapted to be in contact with the surface of the acetabulum and adapted to fixate the artificial convex caput femur to at least the acetabulum of the pelvic bone.
