20220151792 · 2022-05-19 ·

Prostheses, acetabular apparatuses, and methods of use are disclosed. In some embodiments, an acetabular apparatus includes an acetabular cup and an acetabular cage disposed within an interior of the acetabular cup. The acetabular cage may include a central portion including a first section and a second section rotatably coupled together, and a first flange extending from the first section and a second flange extending from the second section. The acetabular prosthesis may further include a fastener extending through each of the acetabular cup and the central portion of the acetabular cage.

Mechanically coupled revision hip system and method

An acetabular hip implant includes a plurality of rings secured to an acetabular shell component. A method of fabricating a customized, patient-specific version of such an implant is also disclosed.

Modular acetabular trial liner system

A trial liner for use in a hip arthroplasty surgical procedure is disclosed. The trial liner includes a rim and a semi-hemispherical body attached to the rim. The semi-hemispherical body includes a concave inner wall extending inwardly from the rim to define a cavity, a convex outer wall extending from the rim opposite the inner wall, and an interior wall extending between the inner wall and the outer wall and defining an opening at an apex of the semi-hemispherical body. The semi-hemispherical body is adapted to deflect and modify the opening, when pressed against a head of a screw, to accept the head of the screw within the opening. A system that includes the trial liner and the screw, and a method for using the system in a surgical procedure, are also disclosed.

An implant system includes an acetabular implant and a bone screw having an articulated screw head which allows an unchanged contact position of the screw head on the acetabular implant when the bone screw is aligned relative to the acetabular implant. For this purpose, a slotted hole is made in the acetabular implant in which slotted hole the bone screw can be pivoted in longitudinal direction of the slotted hole.

An interlocking reverse hip prosthesis including an acetabular cup having an opening in the central portion of the cup being implanted in the acetabular cavity. The opening has a circular extending wall protruding into the concave portion of the cup a distance at least equal to the diameter of the opening. The inward extension of the cup provides a female Morse taper suited for receiving the male Morse tapered post of the acetabular ball. After implantation of the acetabular cup, the surgeon can easily secure the cup to the acetabular bone using several screws without the interference of the central peg (as in prior implants). The femoral ball is then attached to the cup via central Morse taper.

Implantable compensating sleeve for an endoprosthesis
10743997 · 2020-08-18 · ·

An implantable compensating sleeve is for application between a longitudinal implant section of a first implant, and a second implant that encompasses the longitudinal implant section of the first implant. The compensating sleeve has a sheath with a sheath body and a passage, running from the proximal to the distal end of the sheath body, for receiving the longitudinal implant section of the first implant. The sheath body is formed from separate planar and/or rod-shaped compensating elements which are arranged in a ring and aligned in the longitudinal direction of the sheath body. A gap runs from the proximal to the distal end between two adjacent compensating elements. Adjacent compensating elements are interconnected by at least one foldable wire such that they can move relative to one another.
