SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR JOINT FUSION
Methods and apparatus are disclosed for excising a joint between first and second bones to define a resected joint, approximating the first and second bones to reduce the resected joint, and fixing the first and second bones relative to each other. The excising step can be performed using a cut guide that is movable from a first orientation to cut the first bone to a second orientation to cut the second bone. A compressor block can be driven over temporary fixation members that extends into the first and second bones to reduce the resected joint. A staple, along or in combination with other fixation elements, can then permanently fix the first bone to the second bone.
Midfoot bone replacement implant
An implant for a human includes a body having a superior surface, an inferior surface, a distal surface, and a proximal surface. The proximal surface is configured to engage the talus and the calcaneus of an adult human, and the distal surface configured to engage at least the first and fourth metatarsals of the adult human. The distal surface has a largest distal height and a largest distal width that is greater than the largest distal height, and the proximal surface has a largest proximal height and a largest proximal width that is greater than the largest proximal height.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR JOINT FUSION
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for correcting deformities in a patient's foot. In one example, a metatarsus adductus is addressed using a pin placement guide that is angulated to be placed in alignment with a cuneiform and a metatarsal, such that the TMT joint can be subsequently cut, and the metatarsal moved into proper alignment. Th pin placement guide can be a variable angle guide, or a kit of fixed-angle pin placement guides can be provided.
Apparatus, systems, and methods for the fixation or fusion of bone
Assemblies of one or more implant structures make possible the achievement of diverse interventions involving the fusion and/or stabilization of the SI-joint and/or lumbar and sacral vertebra in a non-invasive manner, with minimal incision, and without the necessitating the removing the intervertebral disc. The representative lumbar spine interventions, which can be performed on adults or children, include, but are not limited to, SI-joint fusion or fixation; lumbar interbody fusion; translaminar lumbar fusion; lumbar facet fusion; trans-iliac lumbar fusion; and the stabilization of a spondylolisthesis.
Joint arthroplasty device and method
An implant having a joint facing surface and a bone facing surface forming a body member and a dorsal member therebetween. The implant further having a ring member extending out from the bone facing surface to a free end disposed for insertion into a bone recess. The body member and the dorsal member include a concave curvature on the bone facing surface and a convex curvature on the joint facing surface.
Bone implants and cutting apparatuses and methods
Implant devices and cutting clamp apparatuses and methods for creating the implants for insertion into a patient's joint to restore anatomic length and assist in final positioning of the bones following removal of cartilage and/or bone in preparation for fusion. A first implant is a biplanar implant having a shape to mimic the normal anatomical shape of the bones the implant is configured to mate with. The first implant may be cut using a cutting clamp and jig having the anatomical shape of the bones the implant will be inserted within or between. A second implant is a cylindrical piece of bone having a convex end and a concave end for mating with bones reamed to have the opposite mating surfaces. The second implant is created using cup and cone reamers having dimensions corresponding to the size of the patient's bones. Surgical methods for inserting the implants within a patient.
Device and method for hallux valgus repair by intermedullary spring clip
A device for repairing Hallux Valgus (HV) is disclosed comprising a first arm adapted to be affixed inside the canal of the first metatarsus (1MT) of a human foot, a second arm adapted to be affixed inside the canal of the second metatarsus (2MT) of a human foot and a spring mechanism connected between the first arm and the second arm, active to push the 1MT closer to the 2MT. The device may comprise fixating means adapted to fixate said first arm inside said MT and said second arm inside said 2MT and the spring mechanism is removable from the first and the second arms.
HYDROGEL IMPLANTS FOR MID-FOOT
A novel implant for replacing a portion of an articulation surface of a joint is disclosed. The implant includes a bone-engaging surface, a hydrogel portion forming an articulation surface opposite from the first bone-engaging surface, and a bone plate portion configured for securing the implant to a bone that forms the joint.
Biological disc graft and method for relief of lower back pain and joint pain
The invention provides a method of making a biological disc graft. In one embodiment, the biological disc graft is useful for treating back or neck pain. In one embodiment, the biological disc graft is useful for treating any joint pain. The invention also provides a method of implanting said biological disc graft in a way that is minimally invasive and less dangerous.
Bone fixation assembly, implants and methods of use
Bone fusion system, plate system, guide, implant, kit and methods for using the bone fusion system, plate system, guide and implant are disclosed. The bone fusion system includes an alignment guide, an implant, and at least one fastener inserted through the implant. The alignment guide includes a body portion, a first lobe positioned at a first end of the body portion, a second lobe positioned at a second end of the body portion, and an extension member extending away from a first side of the body portion. The implant includes a body portion, a first arm extending away from the body portion in a first direction, a second arm extending away from the body portion in a second direction, and a third arm extending away from the body portion laterally between the first and second arms. Finally, methods for using the bone fusion system, plate system, guide and implant are disclosed.
