A prosthetic appendage for attachment to an outer extremity of an amputated limb that is composed of modular elements fabricated by three-dimensional printing. In one embodiment the prosthetic appendage is a leg. The prosthetic leg includes a foot portion and a plurality of modular and three-dimensionally printed limb elements. One of the plurality of limb elements is pivotally coupled to the foot portion and another of the limb elements is configured at one end to receive the outer extremity of the amputated leg. In another embodiment of the present invention the prosthetic appendage is a hand. The prosthetic hand includes a wrist element with one end configured to receive the outer extremity of an amputated hand, a base portion attached to the wrist element and a plurality of modular and three-dimensionally printed finger elements selectively coupled to adjacent finger elements or the base to form prosthetic fingers.

PROSTHETIC FOOT WITH REMOVABLE FLEXIBLE MEMBERS

A prosthetic foot can include an attachment member, at least one first brace, at least one first flexible member, an unpowered actuator, at least one second brace, and at least one second flexible member. The attachment member can include a connector configured to connect the attachment member to a user or another prosthetic device. The at least one first brace can mount to the attachment member and the at least one first flexible member can connect to the attachment member by the at least one first brace such that a force between the ground and the attachment member can be supported by the at least one first flexible member. The unpowered actuator can mount to the attachment member and the at least one second brace can mounted to the actuator. The at least one second flexible member can connect to the attachment member by the at least one second brace such that a force between the ground and the attachment member can be supported by the at least one second flexible member.

Hand assembly for an arm prosthetic device

A prosthetic arm apparatus comprising a plurality of segments that provide a user of the prosthetic arm apparatus with substantially the same movement capability and function as a human arm. The segments are connectable to one another and connectable to a harness mount that may be adorned by the user. Each segment of the plurality of segments provides a portion of the movement capability, enabling the plurality of connected segments connected to the harness mount to provide substantially the same movement capability as that lacking in the user.

Prosthetic attachment system

A prosthetic attachment system includes an insert arranged for connection to a prosthetic liner, and an attachment unit arranged for connection to a distal end of a prosthetic socket. The attachment unit comprises a body defining an axis and a central opening for selectively receiving the insert. The body carries a plurality of locking elements that are distributed circumferentially about the axis and radially repositionable relative to the axis. A release mechanism is slidably positioned on an outer surface of the body to move the prosthetic attachment system between a locked configuration in which the locking elements are radially repositioned to lock the insert in the central opening of the body and an unlocked configuration in which the insert is released from the central opening.

A PROSTHESIS COUPLING, A SOCKET COUPLING, A ROTARY CONNECTOR CORE AND A COMPLIANT MOUNTING ELEMENT

A rotatable and removable wrist connection for a prosthetic hand. A prosthesis coupling includes first and second ball race sections that may be moved together or apart to constrain ball bearings to an inner zone or an outer zone to allow the prosthesis coupling to be secured to or removed from a socket coupling. A socket coupling includes a socket body for receiving a wrist coupling having a rotary connector core extending from the socket body and compliantly mounted to the socket body.

LINEAR ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY, BIONIC DIGIT AND PROSTHETIC HAND
20220054282 · 2022-02-24 ·

A linear actuator assembly housed within a bionic digit, which comprises a base portion, an intermediate portion and an end portion; the intermediate portion pivotally connected to the base portion at one end and pivotally connected to the end portion at the opposite end. The linear actuator assembly includes a drive mechanism; a carriage mechanism having a longitudinal axis (L); a transmission member for transmitting rotational force from the drive mechanism to the carriage mechanism; and a drive member coupled to the carriage mechanism. The carriage mechanism converts the rotational force into an axial force applied to the drive member, moving the drive member along the axis as the carriage mechanism rotates. The drive member is pivotally connected to the end portion. The intermediate portion houses the linear actuator, which further includes a first thrust bearing between the carriage mechanism and the drive mechanism, and the second thrust bearing between the carriage mechanism and a seat provided within the intermediate portion, the carriage mechanism confined between the thrust bearings at each end.

Hands-free apparatus to apply a liner to an amputated appendage

A liner to an appendage of a user includes a base member, a bracket adjustably mounted to the base member to a desired height position, and a plurality of arms pivotably mounted to the bracket. Each arm can include a rotating member, such as a roller ball, coupled to a top end of the arm. The plurality of arms can extend from the bracket in a generally upright position and can support the liner thereon in an inside out position so that the application of downward pressure by the appendage of the user within the plurality of arms permits the arms to pivot outward, thereby allowing the plurality of arms and roller balls to slide the liner around the appendage of the user.
