HYDRAULIC VALVE
A valve includes a case comprising a pin bore, a pin configured to move axially in the pin bore, wherein the pin seals the pin bore, a first channel in communication with the pin bore, a second channel in communication with the pin bore, wherein the second channel comprises a restrictor at a location offset from the first channel, a third channel in communication with the pin bore, wherein the third channel comprises a check valve, and the second channel and third channel are in communication with each other. The valve can be a miniature valve that is used in the control of hydraulic fluid in prosthesis, such as a prosthetic ankle joint.
PROSTHETIC DEVICE FOR A LOWER EXTREMITY, ADJUSTING DEVICE FOR A PROSTHETIC DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR MANUAL ADJUSTMENT
The invention relates to a prosthetic device for a lower extremity comprising a prosthetic food and a lower leg part secured to the prosthetic foot, as well as a device for manually adjusting an orientation of the lower leg part relative to the prosthetic foot, wherein an inertial angle sensor is arranged on the prosthetic device, which detects the orientation of the lower leg part in the space and which is coupled to an output device which in turn outputs the orientation of the lower leg part in the space or the reaching of a previously determined orientation with an output signal in a manner that can be perceived by a user.
ARTIFICIAL KNEE JOINT, BOTH-LEG ARTIFICIAL KNEE JOINT DEVICE, METHOD OF CONTROLLING BOTH-LEG ARTIFICIAL KNEE JOINT DEVICE, AND PROGRAM TO CONTROL BOTH-LEG ARTIFICIAL KNEE JOINT DEVICE
A both-leg artificial knee joint device includes a first artificial knee joint worn on a first leg of a user, a second artificial knee joint worn on a second leg of the user and capable of communicating with the first artificial knee joint, and a controller structured to control at least one of the first artificial knee joint and the second artificial knee joint based on information received from the other artificial knee joint. The first artificial knee joint and the second artificial knee joint communicate via a communication device communicable with the first artificial knee joint and the second artificial knee joint.
Intelligent prosthetic socket
A system can be used to record real-time pressure and/or shear force data within a socket for a prosthetic device. The system includes a socket for a prosthetic device that can be designed to fit a patient's residual limb. The system also includes a sensor array that can be placed within the socket for the prosthetic device to detect pressure and/or shear force on the patient's residual limb. The sensor array includes a piezo-electric material and a uniform distribution of a plurality of metal pads on either side of the piezo-electric material. Each of the plurality of metal pads on either side of the piezo-electric material comprises at least one wire connected to a common port.

Artificial joints using agonist-antagonist actuators
Artificial limbs and joints that behave like biological limbs and joints employ a synthetic actuator which consumes negligible power when exerting zero force, consumes negligible power when outputting force at constant length (isometric) and while performing dissipative, nonconservative work, is capable of independently engaging flexion and extension tendon-like, series springs, is capable of independently varying joint position and stiffness, and exploits series elasticity for mechanical power amplification.
COOLING APPARATUSES WITH PHYSICALLY-POWERED, MECHANICAL COOLANT PUMPS
Apparatuses and methods of fabrication are provided which include a mechanical coolant pump to facilitate pumping a coolant through a coolant loop. The mechanical coolant pump is to couple to an individual and be physically powered by a specified movement of the individual to pump coolant. Coolant pumped by the mechanical coolant pump is circulated by the coolant pump through a device associated with the individual to cool the device.

A system for powering a prosthetic arm is disclosed. The system includes at least one internal battery located in the prosthetic arm, at least one external battery connected to the prosthetic arm, and a master controller configured to connect either the at least one internal battery or the at least one external battery to a power bus to power the prosthetic arm.
Sensor system
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for sensor systems. In one embodiment, a system may include an implantable component and an external component. The implantable component may comprise a housing and an electrode array configured to receive a plurality of biopotential signals. The housing may comprise a wireless power receiver and a wireless data transmitter to transmit representations of the biopotential signals. The external component may comprise a wireless data receiver configured to receive the plurality of digital representations of the biopotential signals and a wireless power transmitter configured to provide power to the internal component. A shielding component may separate the wireless power transmitter from the wireless data receiver. An interface may be configured to communicate with a prosthesis and configured to cause the prosthesis to implement a voluntary motion based on the plurality of digital presentations of the biopotential signals.
