Low profile forced-air blanket
The invention includes a forced-air blanket for providing a profusion of air to a patient, comprising a bottom layer with a plurality of openings configured to allow a profusion of air to pass through the bottom layer and an upper layer bonded to the bottom layer around a periphery, wherein the upper layer is also bonded to bottom layer by a plurality of linear seals and a plurality of staked seals. In an embodiment, at least one of more of the linear seals have one end which is joined to a portion of the periphery. In another embodiment, the forced-air blanket may further include at least one elongated seal that is positioned proximate to the inlet. The arrangement of the plurality of staked seals, elongated seals and linear seals assists in providing a blanket that is of a low-profile with even air distribution.
PERSONALIZED THERMAL TREATMENT PROTOCOLS
The present invention relates to methods and devices for the personalization of thermal treatment protocols. In particular, standard thermal treatment protocols are adapted and personalized based on individual-specific information, allowing more effective treatment protocols. Also systems for automated planning of the thermal treatment of an individual or a part thereof with individual-specific consideration are provided.
Ear apparatus and methods of use
Selectively controllable apparatus for insertion into an ear canal, and related methods of use and operation for behavioral control. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a body configured for insertion into an ear canal. In one variant, the body includes one or more thermal mechanisms which enable selective increase or decrease of temperature of at least portions of the ear canal so as to implement behavioral control of the user, such as to mitigate cravings for food, alcohol, narcotics, or other potentially deleterious substances. In one variant, a mild nausea or pre-nausea condition is created within the user according to a time-temperature profile so as to induce the aforementioned behavioral modification.
NON-CONTACT RADIO-FREQUENCY HEATING
A control unit and methods for operating the control unit to perform non-contact radio-frequency (RF) heating of a fluid flowing through or contained within a non-contact radio-frequency heating element.
Apparatus for stabilizing air circulation and removing contaminants therein during moxibustion therapy
The apparatus includes a moxibustion container assembly for localized application of therapeutic herbal smoke originated from gas-producing combustible material, an air pump connectable to the moxibustion container assembly via an inlet tube to supply air to the moxibustion container assembly, a vacuum pump connectable to the moxibustion container assembly via an outlet tube to create a partial vacuum to draw air from the moxibustion container assembly and exhaust air thereafter, and an air purifier connected to the vacuum pump to remove the contaminants in the air exhausted from the vacuum pump.
COOLING GARMENT
A cooling garment including an article of clothing; and a cooling system associated with the article of clothing, which includes (a) a fabric portion incorporated into or integrated within the article of clothing; and (b) a fluid supply and dispensing apparatus for supplying and dispensing fluid to the fabric portion. The apparatus includes (i) at least one fluid bladder for holding fluid; (ii) a fluid pumping mechanism; and (iii) tubing having a tubing outlet for conveying fluid from the bladder and dispensing the fluid from the tubing outlet to the fabric portion. The clothing is configured to hold the fabric portion snugly to the body of the wearer and the fabric portion is disposed adjacent at least one superficial blood vessel so as to dispense the fluid specifically to the fabric portion adjacent the at least one superficial blood vessel and not to other areas of the clothing.
NECK FAN
A neck fan includes an arc-shaped shell configured to hang around user's neck and at least four fan assemblies arranged in the shell. The shell includes a first part and a second part. Each of the first part and the second part defines an accommodating space, air inlets and air outlets communicated with the accommodating space, at least one partition is arranged in the accommodating space and configured to divide the accommodating space into at least two accommodating parts arranged along an extension direction of the shell. Each of the fan assemblies is arranged in one of the at least two accommodating parts and is configured to direct air into the one of the at least two accommodating parts through corresponding air inlets and to direct air out of the one of the at least two accommodating parts through corresponding air outlets.
SYSTEM FOR CIRCULATING HYPERTHERMIC PRESSURIZED GAS IN PERITONEAL CAVITY, AND INTRAPERITONEAL GAS PROVIDING SYSTEM INCLUDING TWO-FLUID NOZZLE
Disclosed are: a system comprising a gas circulation device capable of circulating hyperthermic gas in the peritoneal cavity and a temperature control device; and a system comprising a drug spray device for effectively spraying a drug in the peritoneal cavity together with gas. The systems of the present invention are used as systems for hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy and can maximize the anticancer therapy effect by more effectively delivering a small amount of an anticancer drug to cancer cells while maintaining the temperature of gas in the peritoneal cavity at a predetermined temperature.
APPARATUS FOR SEALING AND COUPLING MATERIAL TO A BODY
A bandage-type apparatus includes a skin condition compartment that is adhered to cover a skin condition with leak-proof adhesive surrounding the compartment that attaches to skin adjacent the skin condition and with a non-adhesive material of the compartment covering the skin condition. A liquid pouch or container with a releasable liquid is coupled to the skin condition compartment and configured for the liquid, such as saline solution, to be released into the compartment to provide a bath or soak in the leak-proof, body-adhered skin condition compartment to provide treatment or relief to the skin condition, such as a sore nipple of a breastfeeding mother.
