DEVICE FOR TREATING BLEEDING

A system for treating internal bleeding via application of a heated irrigant, such that the heated irrigant is delivered at a flow rate of between 2 cc/s and 12 cc/s and at a temperature of between 46 degrees Celsius and 52 degrees Celsius.

METHOD AND APPARATUSES FOR MANIPULATING A HYPOTHALAMUS TEMPERATURE SET-POINT IN HUMANS AND WARM-BLOODED ANIMALS
20220192866 · 2022-06-23 ·

A method and apparatus for manipulating a temperature set-point of a human or homeothermic-animal for increasing or decreasing the body temperature above or below the prevailing body temperature for therapeutic purposes. The method includes the steps of warming or cooling sphenoid sinuses externally resulting in manipulation of the temperature of the pituitary gland which in turn results in manipulation of the body-temperature set-point and the body temperature manipulates accordingly to the new temperature set-point. A heat exchange medium can be used to warm or cool sphenoid sinuses and thus the pituitary gland. The heat exchange fluid can be liquid, or gas maintained at a predetermined temperature. Alternatively, a temperature-controlled probe can be used that upon contact with the sphenoid sinuses provides for the heat exchange.

Attachment For a Device for Delivering Fluid into an Ear Canal
20220152288 · 2022-05-19 ·

An attachment for a device for generating an airflow or for dispensing a fluid, which attachment is adapted to be inserted at least in sections into an external ear canal of a human or animal ear. The attachment has a connecting piece for connecting the attachment to the device for generating an airflow, and has a guide vane of tongue-like design with a guide vane base for guiding air flowing out of the device for generating an airflow via the connecting piece.

Catheter, System for Target Temperature Management and Method for Target Body Temperature Management

A catheter provides temperature management for a target body. A system provides for target temperature management and a method allows for target body temperature management. The target body temperature management may be performed in cavities, such as the nasopharynx route, of a body.

Cooling and refrigeration based on vacuum-driven water evaporation

Apparatus for cooling an object, space, or tissues of a patient. A vacuum chamber is designed to be placed in thermal contact with the object or space to be cooled, or against a patient to be treated. A water sprayer is configured to spray water into the vacuum chamber or against a cooling wall of the chamber. A vacuum pump and control are designed to maintain vacuum below ambient pressure in the vacuum chamber sufficient to cause accelerated evaporation of the water and cooling to a temperature desired for cooling of the object, space, or patient.

Device for the extracorporeal controlling of the temperature of patients, having a separable secondary unit

Device for the extracorporeal controlling of the temperature of patients by transmitting heat between a fluid and a transmission medium, having a primary circuit having a primary unit (102, 201) for receiving the fluid, and a secondary circuit having a secondary unit (104, 200) which includes connectors (240, 242) for infeeding and outfeeding the transmission medium, wherein the secondary unit (104, 200) is capable of being fastened to the primary unit (102, 201) and has nozzles (206) for configuring an impingement flow, said nozzles (206), in the case of a secondary unit (104, 200) being fastened to the primary unit (102, 201), being directed in the direction of the primary unit (102, 201).

Attachment for a Device for Generating an Air Flow or Dispensing a Fluid into the External Auditory Canal
20220323668 · 2022-10-13 ·

An attachment for a device for generating an air flow or dispensing a fluid, which attachment is designed to be at least partially introduced into an external auditory canal of a human or animal ear, the attachment including a connection piece for connecting the attachment to the device for generating an air flow, and a tongue-type guide vane for conducting air that flows out of the device for generating an air flow via the connection piece, the guide vane having a bottom.

Cold slurry containment

The present invention provides methods and devices for controlling a cold slurry that is delivered to a target tissue and for limiting heat transferring from surrounding tissue to the target tissue. In particular, a balloon structure is deployed at or near a point of delivery to act as a physical and/or thermal barrier. In some instances, the balloon structure can act as a pressure device obstructing the flow of warm blood into a treatment area, which can melt the cold slurry.
