Hemostasis wound healing device for dynamic elastic injury site
A topical cooling compressive hemostasis wound healing device and methods thereof for affecting a percutaneous access site wound or an acute surgical wound. The device delivers and transports cooling to affect and control vasculature and musculoskeletal motions surrounding the injury site during the blood coagulation, hemostasis, and wound healing phases. The device has a viscoelastic and thermally conductive surface to deliver and transport an adjustable compressive pressure to resist outward blood flow, thus improving patient safety and clinical outcomes. The device is anatomically conforming and treats not only the specific injury site, but also its surrounding anatomical structures together as means to prevent unpredictable delayed hemostasis breach. The device provides comfort to the patient by allowing mobility upon wound healing, thus reducing back pain and strain resulting from being in a constrained position for a prolonged period of time which is known to cause additional medical events. The device reduces pain, inflammation, swelling, and scar formation on the injury site of a patient and promotes hemostasis, sustains hemostasis, and improves overall wound healing quality.
Transparent Pad
Disclosed herein is a medical pad for exchanging thermal energy between a targeted temperature management (TTM) fluid and a patient. The pad includes a top side and a bottom side, as well as a fluid containing layer disposed between the top side and the bottom side, an insulation layer disposed on the top side, and a thermal conduction layer disposed on the bottom side. The pad can be configured to inhibit irritation of the skin of the patient when the pad is applied to the skin. The pad can also include translucent portions to facilitate visual observance of the skin beneath the pad.
Cooling system and method for a prosthetic socket
A prosthetic socket cooling system and method includes a thermally conductive heat spreader including a curved shaped portion configured to maximize contact with a residual limb of a user. A heat extraction subsystem is coupled through a wall of the prosthetic socket and to the thermally conductive heat spreader and is configured to maintain a desired temperature inside the prosthetic socket.
Foot Cooler
A therapeutic sleeve and techniques for using it are provided. A therapeutic sleeve may house a conduit carrying a constant stream of a chilled or heated working fluid throughout the sleeve. A heating element may evenly distribute heat throughout the sleeve. The sleeve may provide a precise temperature-controlled pocket that significantly improves treatment of pain or discomfort in the user's feet, head, or other body parts. A software application may enable a user to set or adjust a temperature, set timers, record sleep patterns, and view analytics or other data.
Cooling compression sleeve
A cooling compression sleeve device generally including three layers, a flexible bottom layer, a flexible middle layer, and a flexible top layer, and two voids, the first void substantially filled with a cooling agent and the second void including a selectively inflatable air bladder, which in its preferred form is portable, cleanable, reusable, and useful to provide cooling therapy to the limbs of humans or animals and particularly to the knee, shoulder, and elbow joints.
FLEXIBLE COLD/HOT COMPRESS STRIP
A flexible cold/hot compress strip includes a flexible strip body, and a thermoelectric cooler detachably installed to a side of the strip body. The other side of the strip body has a thermally conductive layer and a flexible contact layer. With the flexible design of the strip body, the thermally conductive layer and the contact layer, the whole cold/hot compress strip can be attached closely to human body for cold or hot compress, and the thermoelectric cooler has a detachable design for easy carry and use.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR A HEATING PATCH
A heating patch assembly adapted for use on a human. The preferred heating patch assembly includes a heating patch assembly lining and a heating patch assembly thermal conductor. The preferred heating patch assembly thermal conductor is disposed within the heating patch assembly lining. The preferred heating patch assembly is adapted to induce vasodilation and increase cardiac output in the human. A method for increasing cardiac output including applying the heating patch assembly to a human chest.
Cooling tool and treatment tool used in cryotherapy
A human body is cooled at an appropriate temperature, and a sufficient usage time is ensured. A cooling tool according to one aspect of the present invention is a cooling tool for cooling a human body, including a freezing material 30a that undergoes a phase change at a particular temperature and a first container containing the freezing material 30a. The first container transfers heat between the human body and the freezing material at a contact surface in contact with the skin of the human body. At least the contact surface has a thermal effusivity within the possible range of thermal effusivity of the skin of the human body. The contact surface may have a thermal effusivity (J/(m2˜S1/2.Math.K)) of 1,000 to 2,000.
Portable therapeutic system using hot or cold temperature
Disclosed is a system which employs a cooling or heating pad which is preferably rechargeable with hot or cold temperatures at an intended area of the body. The pad includes a highly temperature-conductive or temperature-retentive material which can be cooled or heated using a portable source of heat or cold material delivered to the pad by a removable delivery conduit. Valves can be included to regulate flow of the cooling or heating material from the source to the pad. The system can also include a dual-chambered canister for containing two different media for heating, cooling or for alternating heating and cooling the pad.
