Thermoregulating gelpack

A gel-pack has a plurality of self-contained components organized as layers in an interior chamber of the gel-pack. Each layer may be inserted into, and removed from, the interior chamber individually. The components include a solid-state gel layer that stores thermal energy, a first radiant energy barrier that prevents the transfer of thermal energy radiating from an exterior of the gel-pack into the solid-state gel layer, and a second radiant energy barrier that reflects the thermal energy radiating from the user's body into the solid-state gel layer.

A surgical drape for use during pre-operative and post-operative procedures and in sterile operating room environments comprises a drape panel, a heat source affixed to the drape panel for maintaining normal patient body temperature. A thermal panel affixed to the drape panel and defining a heat retention area is optional. The heat source comprises a single or plurality of air-activated chemical warming device for quick heating to optimal temperature and consistent discharge of heat over the desired time.

CORDLESS HEATING PAD
20200375791 · 2020-12-03 ·

A heating pad includes a heat pad with an anterior and posterior side. The heat pad includes a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer. The second layer is located in between the first layer and the third layer. The first layer is located on the posterior side, while the third layer is located on the anterior side. The second layer has a wire selectively heated to increase the temperature of the heat pad. The third layer is a reflective material positioned to reflect heat from the second layer towards the first layer, decreasing heat emitted on the anterior side of the heat pad. The heating pad also includes a battery storage section for securing a battery. The battery is in electronical communication with the wire of the heat pad. The heating pad further includes an engagement mechanism to secure the heating pad to a user.

Exemplary blankets can comprise a flexible fluid-impermeable outer shell having two outer layers sealed around their perimeters, a flexible radiant barrier layer positioned inside the outer shell and being reflective of radiant energy, and a flexible thermal insulation layer positioned inside the outer shell adjacent the radiant barrier layer and comprising a material having low thermal conductivity, such that the blanket is capable of retaining patient body heat by creating a barrier to conductive, convective, and radiant patient body heat loss. Some disclosed blankets include an air cell layer or material capable of entrapping air, inside the outer shell, such as an exemplary open cell foam layer. Some disclosed blankets are MRI-compatible.

Heat exchange module, system and method

A heat exchange module alone or part of a system including a control console. The HEM can include a channel enclosure assembly, a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) assembly and a heat transfer (cover) assembly. The enclosure assembly includes a channel for a heat-transfer liquid. The module can be constructed to provide for flexibility to better conform and fit on rounded and/or angular body parts and to efficiently transfer heat between the adjacent body part and the heat-transfer liquid via the TECs of the TEC assembly.

Portable hypothermia recovery pad
