Epileptic seizure prevention or treatment via heart rate clamping
We report a method of treating an epileptic seizure in a patient, comprising: detecting said epileptic seizure, based on body data from said patient; and reducing a flow of blood to a brain of said patient in response to said detected seizure; wherein said reducing is effected by: increasing the parasympathetic input to said patient's heart, such as by electrically stimulating a parasympathetic nervous structure, applying cooling energy to a sympathetic nervous structure, or administering a cholinergic or a sympatho-blocking agent to said patient. We also report a medical device system configured to implement the method. We also report a non-transitory computer readable program storage unit encoded with instructions that, when executed by a computer, perform the method.

EVAPORATIVE COOLING PAD SLEEP AID
A flexible evaporative cooling pad includes a fabric base and at least two rows of fabric chambers affixed to the base. Each row of fabric chambers includes a first hydrogel-containing fabric chamber and an adjacent hydrogel-containing fabric chamber. Stitching isolates the hydrogel in each hydrogel-containing fabric chamber. The cooling pad cools under the legs or the head and neck and promotes the sleep cycle. In addition, the cooling pad may be used to treat headaches, fever, and hot flashes or just to cool down when it is hot. Use of an evaporative cooling pad may reduce the demand for air conditioning.
CONFIGURABLE CONVECTIVE DEVICE
At least some aspects of the present disclosure feature a configurable convective device, including two layers forming a pneumatic structure and an air-guide device. The pneumatic structure includes two portions and an inflatable channel connecting the two portions. In some cases, the air-guide device is disposed within or proximate to the inflatable channel and configured to direct flow of inflation medium when at least one of the two portions are bent.
Arrangement applied to a cap for cooling the scalp
Refers to equipment (E), the objective of which is to take extremely cold air to a cap (1) comprised by a cylindrical duct (2), located in the upper part of the cylindrical structure (3) of the cap (1) which is coated by a thermal foam (ESP) and any given material (M), wherein the cylindrical duct (2) overlaps a sprinkler (ASP), which is located in the inner part (I) of the cylindrical structure (3) of the cap (1), further, the cap (1) comprises fins (4) which form an angle of 90° in relation to the inner walls (I) of the cylindrical structure (3) of the cap (1), which finally also has reinforcement ribs (5) and a circular support (6) endowed with a central hollow (7) circular and/or oval coated by a thermal foam (ESP) throughout its perimeter.
MULTI-FUNCTION BRACE
A brace may include a body portion and a finger portion. The body portion may include a first flexible sheet configured to receive at least portions of a user's wrist and hand and may restrict movement of the wrist. The finger portion may include a second flexible sheet and a rigid stabilizing member. The finger portion may be configured to receive at least one of the user's fingers and may restrict movement of the at least one finger relative to the wrist and hand. Further, the body portion be configured to releasably receive the finger portion.
Noxipoints stimulating devices using light, mechanical force, or heat as a source of stimulation
A noxipoint stimulating device uses light, mechanical force, and heat as a source of stimulating energy, which is configured to be applied on the Noxipoints.
HEAT STORAGE-TYPE FOOT FOMENTING DEVICE FOR PROMOTING ENERGY CIRCULATION
Provided is a foot fomentation apparatus for feet of a user which includes: a soleplate which supports the soles; a cover which is combined with the soleplate from above for wrapping up feet; a warming and heating device which has a warming and heating structure in the soleplate and the cover as well or in the soleplate only; and a control unit which is installed in order to store heat energy in the warming and heating structure of the warming and heating device according to pre-established conditions. The present disclosure provides the apparatus of a heat-accumulative type, wherein no influence of electromagnetic waves exists and tension while relaxation coexist, in order to exuberantly promote energy and blood circulation to reduce fatigue and help preventing serious diseases by continuously inducing energy and blood circulation action in a human body, converting a half-healthy constitution into a healthy constitution, considerably improving work concentration with proper stimuli which incur no distraction when a user performs another work in experiencing the fomentation, pleasantly maintaining biorhythms and exuberantly maintaining streams of energy and blood along the twelve meridian points.
Targeted Temperature Management Systems, Pads, and Methods Thereof
Disclosed herein are systems, pads, and methods thereof for targeted temperature management. A first pad can include a multilayered pad body and an inflatable cuff around the pad body. The pad body can include a conformable layer, a conduit layer over the conformable layer, and an insulation layer over the conduit layer. The conformable layer can include a conformable material configured to conform around a limb of a patient. The conduit layer can include one or more conduits configured to convey a fluid through the conduit layer. The insulation layer can be configured to insulate the conduit layer from an ambient temperature of an environment around the patient. The inflatable cuff can be configured to press the pad body against the limb of the patient when the inflatable cuff is inflated. Methods of the systems and pads can include methods of use.
Cerebral protection system
A cerebral protection system generally includes an array of cold packs, an insulating cover, and optionally a set of trays. The cold pack contains two reactive materials separated by a rupturable membrane. When the first reactive material and the second reactive material are mixed, an endothermic reaction occurs. The system can be used to induce hypothermia in selected regions of the brain when used. The system can be used to treat conditions including concussion, traumatic brain injury (TBI), heatstroke, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, anoxic brain injury, ischemic stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), or hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
