COMPOSITIONS FOR APPLICATION TO WOUNDS
Herein is disclosed a composition for application to a wound comprising: a first layer comprising a skin adhesive, wherein the first layer has a wound-facing side and a non-wound-facing side and, in a first area, apertures extend through the first layer from the wound-facing side to the non-wound-facing side; and a second layer disposed on a non-wound-facing side of the first layer, the second layer comprising a polymeric film that is continuous in that it extends over and covers each of the apertures of the first layer, the second layer having a moisture vapour transmission rate (MVTR) of at least 500 g/m.sup.2/24 hours, measured in accordance with BS EN 13726-2:2002, wherein the composition further comprises a third layer disposed between the first layer and second layer, the third layer being a supporting layer for the first layer, the third layer having apertures therethrough, substantially corresponding to the apertures in the first layer. A method of making such a composition is also disclosed.
Water resistant bandage
A water resistant light compression and/or retention bandage for retaining an orthopedic splint, padding or medical device against a body part, includes a knitted fabric formed of synthetic yarns having a moisture vapor transmission rate from an inner face of the bandage to an outer face of the bandage of at least 500 g/m.sup.2 per 24 hours.
VACUUM WOUND THERAPY WOUND DRESSING WITH VARIABLE PERFORMANCE ZONES
A dressing for an open wound includes a cover layer dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed. The cover layer permits an evacuation of the space around the wound bed such that a sub-atmospheric pressure may be established to stimulate healing and facilitate the removal of fluid from the wound. Multiple performance zones in the cover layer allow the wound dressing to remain in position through repeated cycles of evacuation without placing undue strain on the wound bed. An outer peripheral zone may include a high peal-strength adhesive while an intermediate zone may include a shear resistant adhesive. A central zone may be devoid of any coating to maximize moisture transmission through cover layer.
Wound dressing including a biocelulose layer having a bacteria-adsorbing design
A wound dressing including at least one layer made of microbially produced cellulose formed into a biocellulose layer, wherein the wound dressing is configured to adsorb bacteria and wherein the thickness of the bio-cellulose layer is between 0.08 and 1.5 mm, as well as a method for producing such a wound dressing.
Reinforced Adhesive Backing Sheet
A backing sheet for use in a wound dressing, comprising a semipermeable continuous film laminated to an adhesive-coated apertured layer, wherein the apertured layer comprises a solid substrate coated with a medically acceptable adhesive. Also provided is a method of making a backing sheet for use in a wound dressing, said method comprising the steps of: forming an adhesive-coated apertured layer by coating a medically acceptable adhesive onto an apertured solid substrate, followed by laminating the adhesive-coated apertured layer to a semipermeable continuous film.

ABSORBENT ARTICLES WITH NON-ADHERENT MEMBER
Example absorbent articles including a non-adherent member comprising a polyester, a substrate adjacent the non-adherent member, and an absorbent member disposed between the non-adherent member and the substrate are disclosed. The non-adherent member defines a plurality of perforations extending through a thickness of the non-adherent member. Example techniques for forming example articles are disclosed.
