Two layer wound dressings including removable upper layer

Wound dressings including a skin contact layer and a cover layer removably adhered to the top surface of the skin contact layer are described. The skin contact layer includes a lower substrate extending around a central aperture and a lower adhesive. The lower substrate includes a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface. The lower adhesive is disposed on the bottom surface of the lower substrate. The cover layer substantially covers the central aperture of the lower substrate, and includes an upper substrate and a backing layer. An upper adhesive is positioned between the top surface of the lower substrate and a bottom surface of the backing layer. In embodiments, the cover layer can be removed and changed while the skin contact layer remains adhered to the skin around a wound.

A wound closure includes one or more bandages. The one or more bandages include a first bandage and a second bandage. Each of the first bandage and the second bandage include a skin attachment portion having a skin fastener for attaching the bandages to a subject. Each of the first bandage and the second bandage include a closure portion having a closure fastener for attaching the closure portions with one another. The skin fastener and closure fastener may comprise an adhesive. The bandages may comprise a leg for folding over, and attaching to, the attached closure portions to form a secured folded closure. The secured folded closure may be folded generally flat against, and secured with, one of the skin attachment portions.

A tissue interface configured to be positioned at a tissue site is provided. The tissue interface may include a first tissue interface layer, a second tissue interface layer, and a bonding layer disposed between the first tissue interface layer and the second tissue interface layer. The bonding layer may couple the first tissue interface layer to the second tissue interface layer. The interface layers may be bonded together lightly such that the bonding layer is sufficiently strong to hold together a first interface layer and a second interface layer, but weak enough to allow the first tissue interface layer to be separated or detached from the second tissue interface layer when pulled apart by a user. This allows a user to add or remove any number of tissue interface layers to adjust the height of the tissue interface 108 in order to accommodate the depth of a tissue site.
