The dressing has a central portion and a border portion, and comprises a backing layer, an adhesive body contact layer and a pad arranged in the central portion between the backing layer and the adhesive body contact layer. The pad is symmetric about a longitudinal center line and the dressing comprises a lobed portion on each side of the center line. The medical dressing comprises a gripping tab which is coplanar with the border portion and which projects outwardly from the border portion. The medical dressing may be used for pressure ulcer prevention, such as at the sacrum region of a human body.

The methods, procedures, kits, and devices described herein can also provide temporary simulated results of a cosmetic procedure to allow for visual assessment to select the type of procedure or for treatment planning in advance of the surgical procedure.

The water barrier laminate includes a body layer and an adhesive layer formed on a side surface of the body layer that faces the skin contact pad and adhered to the skin. The body layer has a positioning portion and two divisional portions extending from the positioning portion and spaced apart from each other by a separating gap. The release sheet is attached to the adhesive layer of the water barrier laminate.

Described herein are dressings comprising a composite island comprising a polyurethane or foam layer coupled to an absorbent layer comprising non-woven gelling fibers. Also described herein are dressings comprising an absorbent layer comprising carboxymethyl cellulose fibers and a backing layer coupled to the absorbent layer. In the respective dressings, the absorbent layer is not elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions, whereas the polyurethane or foam layer and the backing layer are substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. The coupling of the absorbent layer to the polyurethane/foam layer or backing layer renders the coupled structure or the entire dressing substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. Methods of eliminating, minimizing, or reducing edema are also described herein.

An external fixation device for fractured forearms and/or hands. The device includes an arm-shaped main body and a cavity. The main body includes: a forepart which corresponds to a hand of a patient, and a rear part which corresponds to a segment extending from the hand to an elbow joint of the patient. The main body includes a first edge and a second edge. The first edge of the main body is provided with a flexible cotton member, and a placket is connected to the outer side of the flexible cotton member. The second edge of the main body is provided with a plurality of elastic belts. The rear part of the main body includes an opening which is located at a position corresponding to the elbow joint of the patient and communicates with the filler cavity.
