An absorbent article for a pet includes a main body portion including: a liquid-permeable top sheet; a liquid-impermeable back surface layer; a liquid absorber disposed between the liquid-permeable top sheet and the liquid-impermeable back surface layer; a first leakage suppressing portion including a first joining portion that is joined to the liquid-permeable top sheet and a first rising portion that is not joined to the liquid-permeable top sheet; and a second leakage suppressing portion including a second joining portion that is joined to the liquid-permeable top sheet and a second rising portion that is not joined to the liquid-permeable top sheet. The absorbent article is configured such that a longitudinal direction of the absorbent article extends along a waist of the pet wearing the absorbent article.

Herein disclosed is a durable, ecofriendly, pet diaper fabricated from durable, washable materials enabling repeated use is disclosed. The diaper includes an impervious exterior layer and a pervious and breathable interior layer joined at an outer rim. An absorbent pad is positioned distally from the outer rim creating a gap between the pad and outer rim. An absorbent core for a diaper for a non-human has a total superabsorbent polymer (SAP) load. The absorbent core includes a first zone including a first absorbent section and a second absorbent section, a second zone including a third absorbent section, and a third zone including a fourth absorbent section and a fifth absorbent section. The absorbent sections each include a range of 15% to 20% of the total SAP load. The second zone is between the first zone and the third zone. The absorbent core further includes seals surrounding each of the first absorbent section, the second absorbent section, the third absorbent section, the fourth absorbent section, and the fifth absorbent section. One of the seals extends through the first zone between the first absorbent section and the second absorbent section, and another of the seals extends through the third zone between the fourth absorbent section and the fifth absorbent section.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide an absorbent article for pets that fits the body of a pet in an excellent manner and is able to properly absorb liquid bodily waste such as urine. This absorbent article (1) for pets has mutually perpendicular longitudinal, width and thickness directions and is worn in such a way that the longitudinal direction extends around the body of a pet.
