MACHINE AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SANITARY PRODUCTS
A machine and a method for manufacturing a sanitary product with an hourglass shaped absorbent core, such as a panty liner or a light-inco diaper. The machine and the method allow virtually scrap-free shaping of the core into an hourglass shape.
MACHINE AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SANITARY PRODUCTS
A machine and a method for manufacturing sanitary product with an hourglass shaped absorbent core, such as a panty liner or a light-inco diaper. The machine and the method allow shaping of the core into an hourglass shape with minimized scrap.
Extensible nonwoven fabric
Extensible nonwoven fabrics having improved elongation, extensibility, abrasion resistance and toughness. In particular, embodiments of the invention are directed to extensible spunbond fabrics comprising a polymeric blend of a metallocene catalyzed polypropylene, polyethylene, and a third polymer component.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR KNOTTING A STRING END
The present invention relates to a device for knotting a thread end so that a loop is formed. The device 1 comprises a knotter assembly 3 for knotting two thread sections of the thread end, as well as a driver 5 for feeding the thread sections to the knotter assembly 3. It further comprises an orbital path 4 along which the driver and the knotter assembly 3 are guided. The orbital path has a knotting region and a turnover region and is designed to guide the driver at different speeds in the knotting region and turnover region. The present invention further relates to a method for knotting a thread end, and to a device for producing tampons having a proximal retrieval thread.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING CHANNELED ABSORBENT ARTICLES
A method for making an absorbent article comprising an absorbent core comprising one or more channels, the method comprising the steps of: i. providing a first endless moving surface comprising a plurality of molds typically in the form of pockets, each mold comprising an insert therein, wherein the molds are in fluid communication with an under-pressure source except for said insert such that a suction zone is formed in areas neighboring said insert; ii. feeding a first nonwoven web to said first endless moving surface and over one or more said molds; iii. depositing an absorbent material, comprising cellulose fibers and/or superabsorbent polymer particles, over at least a portion of said nonwoven web; iv. optionally further selectively removing said absorbent material from areas of the nonwoven web corresponding to said insert; v. applying a second nonwoven web directly or indirectly over the absorbent material, or folding said first nonwoven web, such to sandwich said absorbent material between upper and lower layers of said nonwoven web(s); vi. joining said upper and lower layers together at least in the areas of the nonwoven web(s) corresponding to the insert to form an absorbent core having one or more channels substantially free of absorbent material; vii. optionally joining an acquisition distribution layer to said absorbent core, typically a skin facing surface of said upper layer; viii. optionally laminating said absorbent core and acquisition distribution layer between a liquid pervious topsheet and a liquid impervious backsheet; wherein at least a portion of said insert is porous and is in fluid communication with a positive pressure source such that air is blown out of said insert to form an air cushion or air film around at least an uppermost surface of said insert and in that said absorbent material is thereby forced away from areas of the nonwoven web corresponding to said insert.
High speed SAP particle applicator
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method of applying a single SAP (Super Adsorbent Polymer) type granules or multiple SAP types at high speed in a continuous or intermittent 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional profile via volumetric or gravimetric metering onto a receiving system such as a carrier layer and/or into an air stream for use in an absorbent article, particularly diapers for babies or adults, training pants, pull-up diapers (diaper pants), sanitary napkins, panty liners or the like. These articles typically comprise of a carrier layer with the SAP particles and/or a mixed SAP and fiber core together with further layers, making up the complete article.
PROCESS FOR FORMING ABSORBENT SANITARY ARTICLES
A process for forming an absorbent sanitary article includes feeding a first web including first and second stretches each having front and rear end portions; feeding a second web for forming a first side panel of the article; feeding a third web for forming a second side panel of the article; cutting the second web into a succession of first and second pieces defining the first side panel of the article; cutting the third web in a succession of third and fourth pieces, defining the second side panel of the article; applying the first through fourth pieces to the first web; the first and second stretches being provided in the first web so each first stretch has the rear end portion downstream of the front end portion in a feed direction and each second stretch has the front end portion downstream of the rear end portion.
Indirect printing of AGM
The present invention relates to a method of applying absorbent gelling material (AGM) granules by indirect printing onto an carrier layer for use in an absorbent article, particularly diaper for babies or adults, training pants, pull-up diapers (diaper pants), sanitary napkins, panty liners or the like. These articles typically comprise the carrier layer with the AGM particles together with further layers, making up the complete article.
METHOD FOR SEPARATING PORTIONS FROM A WEB AND RECOMBINING THESE ONTO THE WEB MACHINE-DIRECTIONALLY OFFSET
The present invention is an equipment and a method for handling web materials, in particular for recombining portions as are cut out from an essentially continuous web material machine-directionally offset with this web.
Method and Apparatus for Making Absorbent Structures with Absorbent Material
Apparatus (1) and method for producing absorbent structures with absorbent layers with channel(s) without absorbent material, using a first moving endless surface (20) with specific raised strip(s) (25) and a second moving endless surface (30) with specific mating strip(s) (31).
