Underpants-type disposable diaper with cover nonwoven fabric having improved air permeability
A cover nonwoven fabric covers a back surface of an inner member from between a front side outer member and the inner member to between a back side outer member and the inner member. The cover nonwoven fabric extends from a back surface side of a base portion of one side gather to a back surface side of a base portion of the other side gather. The cover nonwoven fabric has holes penetrating the front and back surfaces at intervals from between the front side outer and inner members to between the back side outer and inner members. The side edges of the cover nonwoven fabric are located at the positions same as the side edges of the narrowest part of the absorber in the width direction or on the center side in the width direction with respect to the side edges of the narrowest part.
ABSORBENT CORE EXHIBITING MATERIAL MOVEMENT
Absorbent cores comprising a core wrap which comprises a liquid permeable substrate layer, the core may contain from about 87% to about 100% of superabsorbent polymer, wherein: (i) the core comprises from about 0.5% to about 20% of an adhesive; (ii), the superabsorbent polymer is disposed in a plurality of frangible pockets in or on the liquid permeable substrate layer; or (iii) both (i) and (ii); and further, the core exhibits a material movement of about 0.2 cm or more, as measured with a Superabsorbent Material Movement Test.
Absorbent article with leg gasketing cuff
A disposable pant may include a topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a leg gasketing system. The leg gasketing system may include an inner cuff and an outer cuff. The inner cuff may include an inner cuff folded edge and an inner cuff material edge and the outer cuff may include an outer cuff folded edge and an outer cuff material edge such that the web of material is folded laterally inward to form the outer cuff folded edge and folded laterally outward to form the inner cuff folded edge.
Underpants-type disposable diaper
The rising gather of a disposable diaper includes: a main unit portion having a first portion extending from both sides of an inner member toward the center in the width direction and a second portion extending outward in the width direction. Front and back fallen portions are formed by fixing front and back end portions in the main unit portion to the inner member. The front and back fallen portions have a protruding portion in which the second portion protrudes 5 to 40 mm outward in the width direction than a side edge of the first portion. The protruding portion of the front fallen portion has a protruding fixing portion fixed to the front outer member overlapping with a back surface side thereof. The protruding portion of the back fallen portion has a protruding fixing portion fixed to the back outer member overlapping with a back surface side thereof.
Method and apparatus for assembling absorbent articles
The present disclosure relates to assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Methods herein may include an anvil adapted to rotate about an axis of rotation, wherein first and second spreader mechanisms adjacent the anvil roll are axially and angularly displaced from each other with respect to the axis of rotation. During the assembly process, a substrate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating anvil. The first spreader mechanism stretches a first elastic material in the cross direction, and the second spreader mechanism stretches a second elastic material in the cross direction. The stretched first and second elastic materials advance from the spreader mechanisms and onto the substrate on the anvil roll. The combined and elastic materials may then be ultrasonically bonded together on the anvil to form at least one elastic laminate.
Strand-based laminates in absorbent articles
Absorbent articles comprising a multilayer outer cover comprising a first outer layer and a second outer layer comprising a component that exhibits at least partial elastic recovery after mechanical activation in the machine direction; an inner layer, disposed between the first outer layer and the second outer layer, the inner layer comprising elastic strands; and wherein at least one of the first outer layer and second outer layer is laminated to the inner layer.
Methods and apparatuses for assembling elastic laminates with different bond densities for absorbent articles
The methods herein relate to assembling an elastic laminate with a first elastic material and a second elastic material bonded between first and second substrates. During assembly, an elastic laminate may be formed by positioning the first and second substrates in contact with stretched central regions of the first and second elastic materials. The elastic laminates may include two or more bonding regions that may be defined by the various layers or components of the elastic laminate that are laminated or stacked relative to each other. In some configurations, a first plurality of ultrasonic bonds are applied to the elastic laminate to define a first bond density in the first bonding region, and a second plurality of ultrasonic bonds are applied to the elastic laminate to define a second bond density in the second bonding region, wherein the second bond density is not equal to the first bond density.
Absorbent article with absorbent core
An absorbent article includes a first waist region, a second waist region, and a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions; and a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core. The article also includes a waist feature joined to the chassis a waist region and having a portion extending longitudinally outboard of the chassis in said waist region. The backsheet has a barrier layer having a maximum length, L.sub.BS. The absorbent core has absorbent material and a maximum length, L.sub.CW, and wherein L.sub.CW is substantially the same as L.sub.BS. The absorbent material is disposed in an absorbent material deposition area. The absorbent material deposition area has a maximum length, L.sub.AB, wherein L.sub.AB is about 90% or greater of L.sub.BS. The first absorbent area lateral edge is disposed a longitudinal distance, D1, from the first barrier lateral edge, wherein D1 is 5% or less of L.sub.BS.
Absorbent article and method for manufacturing pull-on absorbent article including leg-circumference extension sections
An absorbent article including an absorbent main body including an absorbent body. The absorbent main body having a longitudinal direction conforming to a vertical direction; and waist-circumference sections in a pair respectively located on one end side and another end side in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent main body. The waist-circumference sections each including an elastic memberstretchable in a lateral direction. The absorbent main body including a pair of extension sections respectively extending outward on two sides of the absorbent body. The extension sections each having an elastic member stretchable in the vertical direction. The extension sections are formed extending laterally outward from a position on a non-skin side of the absorbent body using a continuous sheet that is continuous in the lateral direction. A welded region having a predetermined length in the lateral direction is in a portion where each of the extension sections forms a leg opening.
