Absorbent articles having a secondary topsheet

An absorbent article having a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable sheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a secondary topsheet disposed between the topsheet and the absorbent core is described. The secondary topsheet has a first layer and a second layer. The first layer is located between the topsheet and the second layer, and a mean pore size of the first layer is larger than a mean pore size of the topsheet.

A breathable thermoplastic polymer film may be produced and adapted for use as a breathable diaper backsheet. The film may comprise a blend of LLDPE, mLLDPE and calcium carbonate, and may have improved tear strength and melt strength such that instances of tears or break offs during the machine direction orientation portion of the production process are significantly reduced or eliminated. In addition, the film may have sufficient tear strength to permit omission of CDI processing needed to strengthen weaker prior art films. In this regard, undesired streaking of colors or printed aspects of the film may be reduced or avoided completely.

Non-woven fabric for liquid-permeable sheet of absorbent article, and absorbent article which includes said non-woven fabric as liquid-permeable sheet

This non-woven fabric comprises the following configuration. In this non-woven fabric for a liquid-permeable sheet of an absorbent article, said non-woven fabric comprising a thickness direction, a planar direction, a first face, and a second face: the non-woven fabric includes thermoplastic resin fibers, and cellulosic fibers, at least a portion whereof configures a plurality of fiber masses; the non-woven fabric further comprises a plurality of spaces which are adjacent to first regions of each of the plurality of fiber masses, said first regions facing the first face; and each of the plurality of fiber masses is not bonded to the thermoplastic resin fibers.

MEDICAL ADHESIVE ARTICLES HAVING A LOW EFFECTIVE MODULUS OF ELASTICITY

Medical adhesive articles include a layer of adhesive and a modified substrate layer where the layer has a plurality of cuts arrayed in a pattern that may be random or the pattern can be arrayed along at least one axis. The cuts are gaps, but the gaps are not visible to the naked eye when the adhesive article is in an unstressed state, and at least some of the cuts become gaps that are visible to the naked eye and form apertures when the adhesive article is in a stressed state. The adhesive articles can be used to adhere a medical device to skin.

Acyclic antivirals

Disclosed herein are nucleotide analogs, methods of synthesizing nucleotide analogs and methods of treating diseases and/or conditions such as a HBV and/or HDV and/or HIV infection with one or more nucleotide analogs.

Fiber Bundle

A fiber bundle containing a plurality of fibers that are twisted about a longitudinal axis is provided. At least a portion of the fibers are formed from a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and a nanoinclusion additive dispersed within the continuous phase in the form of discrete domains. A porous network is defined in the composition that includes a plurality of nanopores.

Porous Polyolefin Material

A polyolefin material that comprises a thermoplastic composition is provided. The composition contains a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and a nanoinclusion additive dispersed within the continuous phase in the form of discrete domains. The composition further includes a beta-nucleating agent. A porous network is defined within the thermoplastic composition that includes a plurality of nanopores.

Porous Polyolefin Material Containing a Butene Polymer

A polyolefin material that comprises a thermoplastic composition is provided. The composition contains a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and a nanoinclusion additive dispersed within the continuous phase in the form of discrete domains. The composition further includes a butene polymer. A porous network is defined within the thermoplastic composition that includes a plurality of nanopores.

Fine Hollow Fibers having a High Void Fraction

A hollow fiber that extending along at least a portion of the fiber along a longitudinal axis thereof and is defined by an interior wall is provided. Through selective control over the manner in which it is formed, the present inventors have discovered that the hollow fiber can exhibit a unique combination of a high void fraction and small fiber size that makes it particularly suitable for use in certain applications, such as in nonwoven webs for absorbent articles.
