ABSORBENT PRODUCT COMPRISING A NONWOVEN MATERIAL
An absorbent product includes a nonwoven material arranged to be in contact with skin of a user during use of the absorbent product. The nonwoven material includes, at least on a skin contacting surface, a mixture of non-absorbent and absorbent fibres. The absorbent fibres are present in an amount of 2-30% by weight, or about 2-10% by weight, based on the total weight of the fibres in the nonwoven material. The non-absorbent fibres have a coarseness of 1.8 to 10 dtex and the absorbent fibres have a coarseness of 1 to 10. Also disclosed is a use of a nonwoven material in an absorbent product to reduce wet friction between the nonwoven and skin of a user.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH HYBRID NONWOVEN WEB
An absorbent article comprises a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent article comprises a nonwoven web. The nonwoven web having a first side and a second side. The nonwoven web comprises thermoplastic fibers and cellulosic fibers. At least a portion of the thermoplastic fibers are present on the first side and at least a portion of the cellulosic fibers are present on the second side. The nonwoven web has a pattern of discrete bond points, wherein the pattern of discrete bond points has a fiber free-length parameter, as defined by the Fiber Free-Length Test, with a value of less than 2.90 mm The second side of the nonwoven web forms part of an exterior surface of the absorbent article.
PERINEAL THERMAL PACK WITH IMPROVED LIQUID CONTAINMENT
Devices for providing thermal therapy to the perineal and rectal areas of a patient are described. The device is particularly useful for containing gushing lochia flow. Different embodiments of the device can be used to provide either hot or cold therapy to the patient. The inventive thermal pack of the current invention comprises a thermal pouch, pad and a backing layer.
COMPOSITE HAVING IMPROVED IN-PLANE PERMEABILITY AND ABSORBENT ARTICLE HAVING IMPROVED FLUID MANAGEMENT
The present disclosure features a feminine hygiene product, including a nonwoven layer including polymeric fibers and/or filaments; a crosslinked cellulose layer including crosslinked cellulose fibers; wherein the crosslinked cellulose layer is positioned opposed to the nonwoven layer (e.g., without an intervening layer different from the crosslinked cellulose layer and the nonwoven layer; in some embodiments, the crosslinked cellulose layer is immediately adjacent to the nonwoven layer); and an interfacial region between the nonwoven layer and the crosslinked cellulose layer, the interfacial region including physically entangled polymeric fibers and/or filaments from the nonwoven layer and crosslinked cellulose fibers from the crosslinked cellulose layer. The nonwoven layer and the crosslinked cellulose layer of the composite fabric are mechanically inseparable in a dry state.
Incontinence absorbent article with cotton fiber front-surface sheet
To provide an absorbent article that uses a cotton fiber in a front-surface sheet, prevents rebounding, improves an absorption speed, and reduces a diffusion range of urine in the front-surface sheet. An incontinence pad 1 having a medium or larger volume that absorbs 20 cc or a larger volume of urine is provided. A front-surface sheet 3 is a spunlace nonwoven fabric made of 100% cotton fiber by weight, is coated with a water repellent agent and has many front-face/back-face penetrating openings 10 in a region containing a part corresponding to an excreting hole. The absorber is made of a pulp fiber that does not contain synthetic fiber and a superabsorbent polymer, a basis weight of the pulp fiber being 75 to 300 g/m.sup.2, a basis weight of the superabsorbent polymer being 85 to 185 g/m.sup.2, and a ratio of the pulp fiber and the superabsorbent polymer being pulp fiber:superabsorbent polymer=70 to 30% by weight:30 to 70% by weight.
Absorbent article
There is provided an absorbent article with its front-surface sheet composed of cotton fibers by which liquid reversion is prevented and water retention on the front-surface sheet is minimized. An incontinence pad 1 is provided that is configured to absorb urine at medium or more volume that is 20 cc or more. A front-surface sheet 3 is formed of a spunlace nonwoven fabric 100 wt % of which is composed of cotton fibers and which is coated with a water repellent agent, and has, at least at a portion corresponding to an excreting hole, numerous front-face/back-face penetrating openings 10 that are longer shaped in the longitudinal direction of the incontinence pad 1. The cotton fibers form numerous longitudinal streaks 11 and numerous lateral streaks 12, the longitudinal streaks extending along the longitudinal direction of the incontinence pad 1 and being formed with an interval in the width direction of the incontinence pad 1, and the lateral streaks extending along the width direction of the incontinence pad 1 and connecting together the longitudinal streaks formed with an interval in the longitudinal direction of the incontinence pad 1. The openings 10 are formed within portions surrounded by the longitudinal streaks 11 and the lateral streaks 12. The longitudinal streaks 11 have more fibers and are formed at a higher density than the lateral streaks 12.
Absorbent articles having distribution materials
An absorbent article comprises a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core positioned at least partially intermediate the topsheet and the backsheet, and a distribution material comprising a wet-laid, three-dimensional fibrous substrate comprising at least 80% pulp fibers by weight of the wet-laid, three-dimensional fibrous substrate. The wet-laid, three-dimensional fibrous substrate comprises a continuous network region, a plurality of discrete zones, and a plurality of transition regions. The transition regions are positioned intermediate the continuous network region and at least some of the plurality of discrete zones.
